It was a long procedure and the dentist and his assistance checked in with me multiple times to see how I was doing and helping me to be comfortable. Initially the front office had told me that they would not be able to verify my insurance because it was the weekend (and even suggested that I might come back the next day), but when the crown procedure was diagnosed and recommended they were able to verify the insurance (which covered 50 percent of the cost). Very glad to have landed in this office and might choose to use them for non-emergency dental work as well.

I was very pleased with one of the team members there, Fateemah, who cleaned my teeth and gave me a lot of tips on how to keep my teeth and gums healthy. I found out she moved to a different state, thus my journey for a hygienist began... On 07/08/2020, I came to this office to get my teeth cleaned. I was greeted by the receptionists with smiles, I'll assume they were smiles since masks are required in the office, hint hint. I also wanted to get a slight pain checked out from a nearby area close to a crown I had put in. I was seen by Fateemah, as she was kind enough to keep me updated on where she moved. Since they are part of the Smiles Generation network, getting my info back and forth with North Decatur Dentistry was pretty easy. She cleaned my teeth thoroughly once again, and congratulated me on my progress. I didn't get a star sticker but healthier teeth is just as good for me. I was then seen by Dr Egan who was very pleasant and knowledgeable as she was pretty quick to diagnose my pain. She made a slight adjustment to my crowns in hopes that it would help with the occasional pain I'd have. She also told me what other work I needed, but since my time is short here, I'll be getting that work done back in Atlanta. All in all, I had a great experience at this office. It's hard to find an amazing hygienist, so if you visit this office, I recommend you see Fateemah! If her manager or the regional manager sees this, please know she's that good that someone traveled out of state just for a cleaning! The staff were are all great too!

(Free). Walking in the receptionist was very warm and welcoming. I was very nervous since it has been so long. I never felt judged once. I was brought back for my cleaning and the woman who cleaned my teeth was wonderful! She talked me through everything and made me feel so comfortable! Despite not going to the dentist for almost two decades, I only had one cavity! They looked at all the options and worked to save the tooth. When I booked the appointment, I clearly explained why we were coming in. It was even noted in their records. Yet after the exam, the doctor (who is also the owner) told me they don't treat decay on those specific teeth in children this young. This was incredibly frustrating. If that's their policy, I should have been informed before the appointment--not after I'd arranged childcare for my other children, brought my son in, and paid for a visit that was ultimately unhelpful. Had I known, I would've gone straight to a pediatric dentist and saved time, money, and stress. Now I will have to pay again for an exam as dentist offices don't transfer exams. What was even more confusing, is that I had to get a pediatric referral for my 1.5 year old for an injury at the same time I made the appointment for my 3.5 year old meaning we were already discussing pediatric dentistry and what they do and do not treat. When I spoke with the office manager, I received a series of shifting, contradictory explanations: * First, she claimed they maybe they didn't know why we were coming in (despite the notes that were checked after). The notes themselves were not thorough or true to my clear concerns. * Then she suggested it might have been due to my child's temperament--though he was calm, cooperative, and sat still the entire time (I even have videos because I was so proud of him). * Finally, after consulting the Dr who is also the owner, she said he simply doesn't treat decay in those teeth in 3.5-year-olds--which raises the question of why they accepted the appointment in the first place. While they did offer a vague apology "for any potential miscommunication" and referred us elsewhere, it felt like a deflection of responsibility rather than a genuine effort to acknowledge or resolve the issue. There was no accountability, no meaningful apology, and no attempt to make things right beyond the bare minimum. This experience was deeply disappointing. We were hoping to find a trusted holistic dental office for our entire family--but this showed a lack of transparency, integrity, and patient care. I would not recommend this practice, especially for families with young children. Ask very specific questions upfront--because they won't volunteer the information you need. We won't be back.
