Very poor service. 20 minutes to take our order, appetizers were brought out with our meal, server made no suggestion that our appetizer order would only serve 3 of our 8 table members, and the food took 50 minutes with a nearly empty restaurant. I would not recommend. read more

It's difficult to give 5 stars when a business just opens. There are usually kinks that need to be ironed out. However, I had such a wonderful experience last night and I need to give Neoteca their props!! My husband ordered the Spicy SoppresSata pizza. The flavor was SO delicious ( I tried 1 bite) He said it wasn't too heavy and filling. Which seems like a oxymoron to me! I ordered the Bruschetta Bar. I wasn't eating bread so they offered lettuce instead. I had the Portobello Mushroom bruschetta, Eggplant bruschetta and Pesto Shrimp bruschetta. WOW I loved it! Now the dessert!! OMG, we had the vanilla gelato with a shot of espresso poured on top. We love our espresso and can't believe we have never had this or done it at home with our espresso machine. I could never go there without ending my meal with this dessert! I can't end without acknowledging the service. It was so pleasant. Our waitress was very helpful, explaining the menu, always making sure we had what we needed, and just pleasant and friendly! I wish I could remember her name (I'll update this later, she deserves Kudos) I let the management ( Steve) know what a wonderful experience we had at their restaurant and what a great addition it is to the community. We are looking forward to trying everything on the menu. read more

To start, the drink menu was great. They had an array of drinks that went beyond the typical drink list. The bartender was super helpful and even let us try one that we weren't sure we'd like to make sure we were happy. Our food was amazing and the highlight of our visit. The arancini and gnocchi were my favorite, along with the pizza. All of the plates were perfect to share so we were able to try everything we wanted. On top of the great food, we had perfect service from the moment we walked in. This is definitely a hip spot we'll be coming back to often. read more

Excellent food with a fun atmosphere, the only thing i can write write that was negative, the fire alarms were going off for about 5 mins in the middle of our dinner read more

Such a great place! We were in town visiting and came across this gem and loved it. After our first visit we had to go back the next afternoon. Great food... great wine selection... great ambiance...and a very friendly staff. Highly recommend! read more

Found a hair halfway through my salad. Waiter apologized but did not take off the bill until my friend insisted that he did. No manager came out to apologize, etc. Menu is limited. Service just so-so. But just remember that hair before you go there... read more

Been eating/drinking here since it opened. It's a 35 minute drive but I'm here as often as I can be. Pizza is neopolitan-style made to order in a wood-fire over, pasta is made in house and the dessert is outstanding. I could pick just about anything on the menu and I'll enjoy it. Love the burrata plate, every type of bruschetta they offer and any of their pizza. The crust is chewy and flavorful, stays true to tradition. I come here to show off the food while catching up with friends, or on my own for a glass of red wine to enjoy the atmosphere and relax. Did I mention the wine is on tap?? I love wine and food. LOVE to make eating and drinking an entire outing in itself. Every dish I've had has been a pleasant surprise, reminding me of something I know from traveling to Italy, but done a little differently. As for the wine? I thought I had better than average knowledge. The bartender always has a suggestion, l and I trust them to make me try something new I'll love. This place has never steered me wrong. Go here. And then come back often. read more

Wow this restaurant is absolutely phenomenal! I couldn't recommend a better restaurant for a nice evening out for a drink or a relaxing dinner with mouthwatering dishes and desserts! The wine selection is outstanding and the servers are knowledgeable which is really hard to find. I recommend the Salumi platters and all of the pizzas are outstanding! Especially the PROSCIUTTO PIZZA! read more

It's fairly new, not open for long, so... I feel bad limiting stars because of poor service, but that was the main issue here. Apps were good - perhaps the bruschetta & salumi could come with thinner, crispier bread, but otherwise pretty good. Pizza was great & wine was pricey, but fine. Just don't serve my pizza without plates or my daughter's meal piping hot, 10 minutes after our pizza has cooled off. Kinks will work out, I'm sure. As I'm sure the curtains will open to reveal the street! When the sun is down, open up & show Barrington the hoppin' spot you want to be! Too dark inside, otherwise. read more

Went there on a slower day was seated right away, and had a wonderful server. I am a fan of Neapolitan Margherita pizza, so I knew going in that's what I wanted. However, our server talked my party into getting bruschetta which was delicious. We ordered mimosas which were on the pricey side, but it was to be expected. The margarita pizza that we ordered probably took 10-15 minutes at most, and was incredible especially with the prosciutto on top. As I said on the pricey side with drinks, but I will be going back again since he pizza was so delicious. read more

Wow. Great food. The food came out very fast. Had two different pizzas and both were excellent. Wines were very good. If you like Pino Grigio ask for the Sudtirol|Alto Adige. read more

This restaurant is chic and modern along with a great wine selection! The menu is somewhat slim and you will want to order most items in a large portion. I have been here a few times already and I go for the wine and some small snack options rather than a full dinner. read more

Have been here on 3 different occasions. In fairness, I'd give it a 2.5. Not quite a 3 though. The food is fairly expensive in my opinion, so I was expecting to be blown away. Afterall, it's pasta, pizza, salami, cheese, meats, etc. Basically nothing really culinary-wise challenging. The Carne pizza was mediocre. I'd expect a pizza that is chock-full of meats. Each piece barely had any meat on it, and more like sauce and minimal cheese. The salumi selection was OK, but again, pretty pricey for the amount of cheese, meats, etc. that were included on the platter. The wine selection is good, but would like to see some "wine specials" or something intriguing to bring me in, on a boring Monday night. Overall, I'd say it's an OK place, but expected more from a Barrington restaurant in a prime location. It's not a place where I'd encourage my friends to join me on a regular basis, to hang out and eat. read more

Exceptional customer service. My friends and I have continued to come in for their amazing food and wine. The ambiance is nice too, perfect for a romantic dinner or a night out with friends. Relaxing music with a great crowd. Glad there's a wine bar in Barrington now! read more

4th visit and will not be back- should've followed the 3 strikes and your out rule. First visit was when they first opened - it wasn't great, but I thought it might be because they just opened. 2nd visit the service was just as bad, but we were with another couple so we were not in a hurry and dealt with it. 3rd visit was for lunch with a business associate, still incredibly slow service not allowing us to finish our meal because we both had other appointments. I.e. 1 3/4 an hour was not enough time to get our meal and eat it. 4th and final visit was a family dinner last night. We were seated right away, the restaurant was completely empty, but no one came by our table for over 15 minutes to ask if we wanted something to drink. The host/waiter was working the two tables on the patio, but all of the other staff were just standing around in their stations oblivious to us and the fact that their co-worker needed help. After about 20 minutes I loudly requested someone to come to our table only to be snapped back at with "I'm coming". Another 2 minutes passed and the host/waiter came over with a bad attitude offering no apology. We placed our entire order (drinks, apps and meal). The iced tea took 10 more minutes and was not cold. The order was not written down and we never received our order of calamari. We wanted oil and cheese for the bread and the kids wanted butter- we had to ask for both instead of it being served with our cheese, olives, bread and meat. The oil was Awful and the butter was frozen- we were given 2 packs for a table of 5. The bread was not fresh, there was no whipped butter only frozen packets, the meatballs were not edible they tasted very old and none of the 3 kids could eat them. Finally a good Waitress came to the rescue and she offered to heat the butter in the microwave and gave us some fresh bread. The prosciutto did not look or taste fresh. We love Near where the service is awesome, any wait is worth it because the food is always fresh. Sorry Neoteca, but I don't think you'll be around this time next year. We heard the few other customers also complaining as we headed out. High prices, poor service and not fresh food. read more

We stopped in evening after dinner elsewhere hoping to just have a class of wine. We were excited to relax on the patio. Our waitress was very accommodating to our indecisiveness as we perused the menu. She answered our questions cheerfully. We ordered our drinks but she offered to explain the menu for future reference. After she left, we realized we did want to try a pizza! We ordered the Burrata. It came out quick. Loving Neapolitan pizza, it was great. For reviewers commenting negatively, they must not be used to wood fired pizza. The dough was soft yet crispy, the toppings plentiful and fresh. It was slightly soggy in the middle which can happen...but I still enjoyed it. The wine selection is numerous. Glasses started around $10 which may be on the high side for some. My reduced stars is for the price vs. quality. Can't wait to come back for a girls night though and try the salumi plate and bruschetta. read more
