Finally writing a review a little over two years after receiving 1,467 grafts from Neopel. The pictures speak for themselves, but the results were very disappointing. As others have mentioned, the density was extremely poor and nowhere near enough grafts were used. The left side is underwhelming but at least passable. The right side is so thin and received so few grafts that it looks like almost nothing was done, and the hairline on that side is noticeably higher. I was told they extracted as many grafts as safely possible, which clearly isn't true when others receive more than double for similar procedures. It feels like a miscalculation or an attempt to sell a touch‑up. They offered me a $2,000 touch‑up, but I have no confidence in their ability, and going through recovery again for a small hairline procedure that should have been done correctly the first time is incredibly frustrating. I would avoid Neopel and go somewhere that gets it right the first time and provides real density. read more

Grafts- 3192 Clinic website: Neopelclinic.com My experience was so good at Neopel. From start to finish; either Gabriela Hernandez Amaya or her husband were in the room the whole time. Which put me at ease. When I did research for clinics in TJ and Turkey, I ended up seeing a pattern of people saying this place is a hairmill and: the doctors aren't even working on you. I wanted to know I was getting the best that was offered and boy did I. Daniela set me up with a driver and hotel so this is how it all went down. I got to the pickup location in San Ysidro at 8pm 8-10-2025, where I met with my driver. Getting over the border was simple and took less than 20 minutes, after that it took another 5 minutes to get to my hotel. 8-11-2025 6:30 AM Day of procedure Wake up, get dressed an go down stairs to the lobby and wait for the doctor who is personally picking me up at 7 AM We get to the clinic and fill out some paperwork, make the payment and we are off. She shaves my head and I tell her, you are the artist I trust the hairline you draw, she lets me know you want an asymmetrical hairline. If it's too symmetrical it won't look right. I appreciated her expertise. I met her husband who would be doing the harvesting portion of the procedure. Very warm and nice, just as his wife, you can tell these people take pride in what they do and care about their patients which was refreshing. 8 PM His team hooks me up to an iv and HR monitor and gave some Xanax to calm my nerves. I am told in the IV is something to help with pain and an anti inflammatory. He begins to administer the injections and used this vibrating tool so I barely fell them( I hate needles so I didn't look but I think that vibrating tool really helped) once I was all numbed up, we began the harvesting; he let me know where we would start and how it would end. Order went( start on my left side, move to stomach and finish on my right side. During the harvesting he told me: at any point if you can feel it let me know so I can give another shot. I couldn't feel a thing but I loved how he put pain management at the top of his list. Lunch at 1:30 PM. While harvesting they took my order and when the food came it was so good! I even asked for jimaica for my drink and they got that! 2:15 PM implantation Gabriela came in with the same team as her husband and started numbing my head, same technique as her husband did. I will be honest, the front hurts a bit more but it wasn't that bad if you've ever had a route canal, this procedure was way less painful than that. They quickly work as a team to load the instruments with my hair and hand them to Gabriela; it wasn't like watch an assembly line in action. Once again, just like her husband she would check in with me to see how my pain was. They were listening to all types of music and going to work, they even asked if I wanted to play some music but I declined because I was enjoying the music they had on. 4:59 PM - fin: we are taking pictures and saying our goodbyes and having me record the breakdown of all the after care involved. A wonderful group of people. I've had surgeries in the past and I've promised myself I would never put myself through that type of pain and can strongly say: if in 15 years I need a touch up, I would have no hesitation coming back and doing it again. 6:23 PM - back to my car in San Ysidro. Getting back to the us is bit longer of a process but I am so happy they had a medical pass for me, otherwise that process instead of being 30-40 minutes it would have been 2.5-3.5 hours. I should have posted a review a long time ago. I got the hair restoration 6 years ago. It's been great after that first year. They said it would take a year to fully heal and have the hair I wanted. And they were right. It's a husband and wife team and they are great! I work with my hands for a living so I know when someone knows what they are doing when I see their hands work. They know what they are doing! The husband was so precise and careful at removing the hair follicles from the back of my head. And the wife was so fast putting them in the front that she needed 4 nurses to keep up with her!And talking before the operation, they were very understanding, we talked about family and relationships and people and how people over 30 can have a hard time dating. Where do I start ?! I got a hair transplant and i was so scared , but once I arrived the staff was super nice , attentive, and took good care of me. The job they did was AMAZING ! Had my procedure approx 18 months ago. Choosing this clinic was the best decision I have ever made! Literally. Everything went smoothly and am extremely pleased with the results. Did plenty of research ahead of time and it paid off. I couldn't take the pain or anti-inflammatory meds due to my colitis but I had no issues and don't recall it hurting that much. It's a bit annoying having an object pounded on the top of your head but it's a small price to pay for the best technique and potential results. The technique she uses gets the hair follicles as dense as possible for a hair transplant and she is masterful at creating a natural looking hairline(zig zagged and single follicles in the very front). I'm a healthcare consultant by trade that spent a good deal of time in both acute and outpatient surgery centers. I had no concerns about anything I saw. Everything appeared clean and sterile. Dr Miguel(her husband) took four hours to remove the follicles and Dr Ana Hernandez four more to place them on the top of my head. Dr. Ana and Miguel Hernandez are both personable and answers all questions and even dropped me off at my hotel. Her son drove me back over the border the following day as I left my car on the US side as I drove from my home in Vegas. Had some temp bald patches that developed on the sides and back of my head and worried me at first but discovered that is normal from shock and resolved by month 3. By month 6 my hair looked pretty decent. By month 12 it filled out and looked completely natural. Thanks Dr. Hernandez! You, your husband, son, and clinic all rock! Just got back from Tijuana after getting a FUE at the Neopel Clinic. I was a little hesitant heading to Mexico and frankly my wife laughed when I initially brought up the idea. She was wrong and I had a great experience and highly recommend the Neopel Clinic to anyone, not just someone that wants to save thousands of dollars. I reached out to the clinic a couple of months ago after being frustrated with the ridiculous prices quoted to me in the states. I had a FUT back in 2009 in Tulsa, OK and it was a reasonable price. Not anymore. My consultation was pleasant and the doctor answered all of my questions. I should note that a good friend of mine reached out as well. His hair loss is much more than mine and the doctor was honest and told him she couldn't help my friend. Her honesty was appreciated. Setting the appointment was a simple $200 money transfer and I was given a list of hotels to select from as the hotel stay was part of the package deal. The hotels were all nice and I selected the Fairfield Inn- Tijuana. I provided my flight information to Neopel as well as transportation from and to the San Diego airport was part of the deal. I flew in the afternoon before my appointment and was picked up by the Neopel driver who was on time and waiting for me and she picked me up in a late model clean vehicle. She spoke great English which was nice and told me a bit about Tijuana. Getting across the border into Mexico and to my hotel took maybe 45 minutes. The next morning, I decided to walk to the clinic instead of taking the shuttle. It was nice out, the area was safe, and I knew it would be a long day. I arrived at the clinic at 8:00 a.m. I spent some time waiting and filling out the standard admission paperwork and got an amazing haircut (not really) and we got started with the procedure at 9:00 a.m. The first part of the procedure was the extraction. It took until 3:30 so 6.5 hours. This is a slow and tedious process, taking one hair follicle at a time. I fell asleep at the beginning of the process so that helped. Overall, there was no pain. The initial numbing shots weren't even that bad so really it was just the boredom of laying still for so long that annoyed me. We did take a 10 minute break mid-extraction to let the doctor rest and to allow me to stretch a bit. I should note that the doctors at Neopel are a husband wife team. One does the extraction, the other does the insertion. After the extraction, I was able to take a 15 minute or so break to eat some lunch. The sandwich was amazing and I was starving as I wasn't allowed to eat beforehand. Insertion was fast. It took two hours and involved three nurses loading the insertion tools with hair and the doctor inserting them. Again, zero pain outside of minor pain during the numbing shots. By 6:30 p.m. I had received all of my after care instructions and was out the door to the hotel. The next morning the Neopel driver picked me up, whisked me through the medical lane at the border (make sure you use a clinic that pays the extra fee for this service) and back to San Diego airport. I am writing this three days post surgery. I have yet to feel any pain. I took the pain medicine the morning after just because but haven't taken anything since then. My friend who had the same procedure at a different clinic a couple of months ago was amazed. So far no swelling anywhere either and I feel great! I will try to update this review in the future but so far I highly recommend Neopel. This wasn't quite the least expensive quote I got in Tijuana but I was happy to pay a few hundred more for the all-inclusive nature of having the transportation, quick border crossing, all medicines, hotel, and food all covered. Can't say enough good things about this place.....this was my second hair procedure (first one was 5 years ago in Irvine/expensive doctor) and I am so happy with my results. One day procedure. I stayed in TJ the night before but I guess you can drive in the same morning if you aren't comfortable with that. You could even stay in San Diego and drive in as long as you are at the place by 8AM or so.......we were done by 5:30PM and my wife drove me home....it was a Monday and the border was empty. Price was around 25% of what I paid in Irvine 5 years ago (it is probably even more expensive now). There are a team of people that work on you and you are never put "under". The only slight pain is when they numb with needle......no other pain. Healing time is easy....and you can wear a hat after a few days....Highly recommend to anyone considering this procedure. This is my third review of Neopel. The first review was written in 2016 about 10 months after my first transplant procedure and the second was written a few months later in 2017. When I first started researching transplants I struggled with getting honest feedback on what was involved and what the process was really like. I wrote those first two reviews to help other guys (and gals) learn from my experience. I received a lot of responses and have written to a lot of people and I hope I was able to help them make an informed decision about what was best for them. But time marches on and it has been five and a half years since I first visited Dr. Gabriela Hernandez and some of my older hair has been thinning on top. However, the hair she transplanted in the front is still there giving me that "full" look even the top was starting to fade. I found an old picture of myself from 2015 and I still looked better today than I did way back then. I went back for a second procedure on April 8, 2021 and I was hoping that I could get as good a treatment as I did the first time, but it was actually better. Dr. Hernandez has upgraded her procedure to allow for more harvesting of hair using the FUE technique which allows for a much faster recovery time. I am up at work the next day with no pain and no swelling and in one day my scalp looks like it did after one week last time. I really didn't expect to recover this quickly. The best part is Dr. Gabriela is still there. She is so warm and genuine and makes you feel so comfortable. Her husband, Dr. Miguel, has now joined her practice and he is amazing too. Dont go anywhere else in TJ for hair surgery - seriously. The main reason I say this is because I was tempted to go with two alternative clinics which also had decent reviews and for the price, they PROMISED 4000+ follicles removed. When I spoke with Dr.Hernandez on facetime (for the first time) she told me she could not promise anything. She would have to meet me in person to establish my head size, follicle density, thickness of hair etc. She simply said that they would aim to extract AS MANY AS POSSIBLE WITHOUT DESTROYING THE BACK OF MY HEAD (Donor area). I cant stress how important this way of thinking is. Its a balancing act - take too much from the back and the back of your head looks sparse and weird. You get the idea. Generally in life, if things seem too good to be true - THEY ARE. I prefer realism and logic and when I made that decision and met the team I knew it was 100% the right one. The pick up from San Diego was perfect. The hotel was great. The planning of the hairline with Dr.Hernandez was really a two way conversation and collaborative drawing. She really listened to what I wanted and gave only her experienced opinion - what was obviously the correct one after doing this for 18 years I was told. The next day, Dr.Miguel (her husband) did the 5 hour extraction and he was incredible! Such focus and precision and his team were incredible. I had a lunch break to check in with people and then we started again for 2 hours for the insertion. The skill of Dr Hernandez and team was awesome. The after care package they provided as A+ and the drive back across the border was seamless. All in all, this is an easy 5 star review. These doctors are a gift to the World! I rarely write any reviews, but they are so exceptional and phenomenal that I had to take the time to do so. If you're looking for a hair transplant, don't go anywhere else. I'm a professor and I do a ton of research before I make any decisions big or small. I researched all the clinics in Tijuana. Unfortunately, a lot of them are run by Turkish people who are not doctors or licensed. They use cheap materials that could cause infection. The Turks charge only a little less but it's definitely not worth the risk. At Neopel the entire procedure is performed by licensed doctors in a very clean and sanitized medical facility. Everything is brand new and sanitized. I've had a procedure a couple years ago in the states that did not take. But it did after going to Neopel. I contacted Neopel Clinic after doing some research on options to do FUE in both the United States and abroad. My treatment was supposed to be scheduled for March 2020, but of course the COVID19 quarantine got in the way and we had to postpone it indefinitely. By mid-June, Dr. Hernandez and her husband contacted to say they were restarting appointments with new strict safety protocols in place. I'll be honest, I was very, very nervous. I've never had any kind of surgical procedure before. I was worried about the pain, the length of the process and the results. But from the moment I was greeted by the staff through the entire pre-op, surgery, and post-op care, every single member of the team was so kind and focused on my comfort. To begin with, Dr. Hernandez shaved my head and we talked about realistic goals and the "design" of my new hairline. I had initially wanted to try to split the graft between my receding hairline and bald spot on my crown. Dr. Hernandez convinced me it would give me the best results to focus entirely on my receding hairline, because that's what creates the dramatic difference in your appearance and photos. She said I should give it a couple years for my donor area to heal and my crown to thin out more and revisit the crown potentially down the line. We agreed and got started. Dr. Hernandez's husband Dr. Miguel does the extraction part, then after a slight break Dr. Hernandez steps in to perform the grafting. There were about 4-5 other staff who assisted. But only the doctors placed their hands on my scalp. They promised me there would be almost no pain other than the slight pinch and discomfort from the numbing injections. They were right. It's hard to believe given the length and complexity of FUE (one follicle at a time extraction and grafting). But other than some pressure, I felt very little. There were a couple of points where I got nervous that I was starting to feel sensation, so I expressed my concern to the doctor and they applied more local anesthetic. No big deal at all. I'm one of the biggest cowards in the world when it comes to pain and I was completely comfortable. The doctors were able to harvest and graft 1860 individual follicles. The pre-op started around 8:00 AM, the procedure itself by about 9:00 AM. I was done and receiving aftercare instructions by 4:30. By 5:30 PM I was back across the border and headed up the freeway to my home in Long Beach. Given the quality of work, the complexity of the FUE procedure, and the amount of personal care I was shown, going to Neopel was more than worth it. The cost was maybe 1/3 per-graft of what I would have been charged anywhere in SoCal. I do plan on going back to Neopel to cover my crown in a few years, as per Dr. Hernandez's instructions! read more

At first I was unsure what to do about the loss until a friend introduced me to a fix called toppik. This was okay, however, there were days I wouldn't use the product and wear a hat. I would always fear someone would ask to borrow my hat for a picture, or I'd go go to a place that didn't allow hats or I'd meet someone and lack confidence because I didn't have any hair under that hat. It was awful. I remember being mortified at sporting events when the national anthem would play and I'd have to hide in the bathroom. Seriously, how ridiculous does all this sound?! If you have hair loss, you know exactly what I'm talking about. When I finally had enough, I emailed Dr. Hernandez and she promptly answered me. I made my appointment to meet her and her passion and energy convinced me that she would be the one to perform my FUE surgery. On top of that, I was able to see a transplant happening in real time - THAT was awesome!! The day of the surgery: Everything went as one would expect. All nurses were extremely professional and had great personalities and told jokes. The first half of the surgery is done my Mr. Dr. Hernandez. He harvests your follicles and the second half is done by Mrs. Dr. Hernandez where she implants those harvested follicles. There were a few moments in the extraction process that were painful, but it was my fault for not asking for more anesthesia. Dr. Hernandez repeatedly asked me if I felt paint and I said no...don't do what I did haha. The second part of the surgery all I felt was pressure, no biggie. The procedure takes about 9 hours so prepare yourself mentally. The time goes by really quickly and the doctors and nurses are jamming while doing the procedure. After the procedure you feel normal, maybe a little light headed, but well enough to walk around etc. I thought I would feel nervous and uncomfortable after the surgery for about a week. I was planning on staying in a hotel in isolation for that entire week. That's definitely not what happened. I went shopping right after in Tijuana's central district then crossed the border and shopped at the San Diego outlets. Once I made it back to my hotel I went out to dinner. The next day I stopped at in n out on the way home and was totally fine. One week after surgery I was in Cancun on a week long vacation and felt amazing. I think the craziest things that happen post surgery are that you swell 3 days after the surgery till about day 6. Don't panic! Dr. Hernandez gives you antibiotic medicine, pain medicine and anti inflammatory medicine. After that it's smooth sailing till weeks 3-4. At that point your hair starts getting crusty...the little scabs around your head start hardening. It's not really a big deal, but it is noticeable that something is going on up there. Overall, I am super happy with my results and would recommend the team of experts at Neopel to anyone who is struggling with hair loss - it doesn't have to be permanent! Dr. Hernandez moved about 4,000 follicles. Both the doctors and nurses were very kind and they kept it real - they were honest about what would happen in the coming weeks and months and they gave the best information on how to care for my new hair. Being based in the US, I contacted a few clinics in Mexico as well as Medellin, Colombia to see what they have to offer. Turkey is extremely popular for hair transplants but I didn't want jet lag and the stress of traveling so far added on to the already stressful experience of getting hair restoration done for the first time. Also, I feel like hair transplantation isn't exactly about having a "secret sauce" but more about the skill, artistry, and experience of the provider. I liked the fact that it was Dra Hernandez that responded to me directly when I contacted the clinic. She and her husband, Dr Miguel, are very caring and personable. They have excellent bedside manner and make you feel very comfortable. That is one of the main reasons why I decided to go with them, I didn't want to feel like just another number, which is how I felt when contacting other clinics. Dr Miguel does the extractions and Dra Hernandez does the implantation. They do not assign that task to other nurses or techs as a lot of other clinics do. (If you are a Marine, Dr Miguel might even give you special treatment. He has a fascination and appreciation for the military, especially marines. I was in the army but still felt very well cared for haha!) . I was the only patient they worked on that day and feel like that is how they usually operate. My procedure got done after 5 pm and it was Dra Hernandez herself who drove me back to the hotel. That was very nice of her. The whole process was extremely smooth. I was picked up by their driver at the San Diego Airport, taken to the hotel which they had booked for me, and was taken back to San Diego the day after surgery. If you have Global Entry or Sentri, it will make crossing back into the US a lot smoother. If not, they will give you a medical lane pass which usually has a shorter line. The wait times for crossing back into the US can be quite long so this will help a lot. This was my second time in Tijuana. The clinic and the hotel are in the commercial district which is a lot nicer than the rest of TJ. Not once did I feel unsafe. TJ is like most major cities. There are good and bad parts. Normally if you mind your own business and stay in a good area, you have nothing to worry about. There are also some really good restaurants in the area if you like Mexican food. So, my husband decided to get a hair transplant when he saw a picture and realized we needed red eye to cut down on the shine from his "slow growing" spot. When the option to go to Mexico popped up it wasn't high on our list, but we started doing some research and quickly Neopel shot to the top of the list. Mauricio was wonderful and spoke with me several times about what we could expect. They had us send in pictures which felt a little shady, but they were able to give us an accurate idea of his probable success and which procedure would be best. Were were nervous but everything was perfect!! The doctor picked my husband up at the border. The staff was professional and quick. My husband came home with a funny hat and wicked scare. As expected, all the new baby hairs fell out and his spot was front and center. By the five month mark, the new hair was growing in nicely and we were feeling pretty confident. Yesterday was the 8 month mark and my husband went for a hair cut at a mens salon. While he was there some of the guys were talking about their experiences with transplant. One guy had chosen a US clinic. He had spent $10,000 so far and his transplants hadn't taken. It was clear this can happen from any clinic. It depends on each individual person. The barber cutting my husband's hair was shocked he'd had a transplant it looked so natural. One other note - we were nervous about the recommended Propecia because we new there could be side affects. My husband is prone to medication reactions but he had NO adverse reactions. In fact, the Propecia really helped thicken other areas of his hair. Update 13 months later: wow really doesn't look like any work was done!!!! I know not everyone has these results but it was well worth the money we spent! I don't want to share what we paid because it may be outdated when you read this. But, I literally just asked my husband what he would have paid his response: "I would have easily paid $10,000 for the peace of mind I have that my hair looks good." We don't get any money for the recommendation. But, we want to help other men find a solution to a problem that feels really hopeless. I have had two hair transplants over the past couple of year. The first was a costly procedure in NYC with disappointing results. The second was with Neopel, which was an incredibly positive experience that cost about a third of the price I originally paid, even with having my eyebrows included. I started with a Zoom consultation with Dr. Miguel and Dr. Hernandez, a husband-and-wife team who run the clinic. The day before my procedure, I arrived at San Diego airport and a driver brought me to a Marriott hotel close to the clinic (my package deal included rides to and from the airport and one night stay at the hotel.) The next day, Dr. Hernandez picked me up and brought me to the clinic, which is clean and modern. After speaking to her again about my expectations and her drawing an outline of my preferred hairlines for my scalp and brows, I was brought to the operating room and medicated with Xanax and a local anesthesia. Dr. Miguel was in charge of the harvesting of my hair during the AM and Dr. Hernandez and her team took over in the afternoon to do the grafting. I slept through most of the entire procedure, with a brief break for a taco lunch. Afterwards, I felt no pain and the hairlines appeared natural and where I wanted them. I spent the following day resting at the hotel, although it would have been fine if I had left that day. On my final day, Dr. Hernandez picked me up again and gave my new hair and eyebrows a shampooing at the clinic, and another driver brought me to the airport. Every single person I dealt with at the clinic was friendly, courteous and professional. I do not speak Spanish, but the staff is fluent in English. Neopel hair clinic First and foremost, I would like to thank doctor Hernandez, and her incredible team for the service and hospitality they gave me. I am writing this review as a way to let others who are suffering from the same hair loss condition find real and effective treatment. I hope my story inspires someone to find the courage to make the trip because It will be all worth it. At least for me. I would like to share my personal story. I started losing my hair when I was in my early 20s. I had to always cover up my head because of noticeable thinning areas. It was a struggle and frusrating. I tried to live on this exhausting routine for as long as I could until could no longer. During this experience, I became really good at hat collecting. Like most of you, I found Neopel Clinics thru Yelp then I started seeing some of doctor Hernandez's videos on YouTube, Instagram, And Facebook. I was skeptical at first but did a lot of research to find confidence in the clinic. I reached out to the clinic via email and received a response fairly quickly. We arrange a zoom meeting the following day with the doctor answered all my questions and concerns like procedure, cost transportation, lodging, and etc. with the doctors years of experience and hundreds of patients under her belt I felt confident that I had found my doctor so I schedule for May 3, 2021. I flew out from DCA to San Diego where I was greeted by a great guy by the name Oscarlo ( Neopel clinic driver). He took me to the Quartz hotel that was about 20 min from the airport (a hotel I would recommend). Driving to Mexico was a cinch, had no issues, didn't even have to show ID and the hotel was very close to the border. The following day had another driver take me from the hotel to the clinic; which was also very close 10 minute drive. The clinic was very modern and clean. A lovely receptionist took my payment filled out two forms and then later taken around back to change into my surgery attire. Dr. Hernandez came in shortly after, started to draw where my hairline and my scalp were going to get filled. We finished off with marking the donor area. Then a nurse began to shave my donor area. After all that step, I was moved to the surgical room. The surgical room was clean, modern, smelled good. There were other nurses who greeted me and prepared me for surgery. I was provided with antibiotics and other things. Once I was ready for surgery, Dr. Hernandez began to numb my donor area. Felt slight pinching but it was not that bad and trust me I hate needles. Once the donor area was numbed, I felt no pain. The doctor was then able to perform the FUT strip and removed it fairly quickly. I would say this phase was completed within 20 minutes. Afterward, I took a 30 min nap while the nurses did their routine work on hair follicles. Afterward, the doctor came back and started to numb my recipient area. Again you will feel some slight discomfort when they're initially injecting with the anesthesia but quickly afterward, you don't feel anything other than pressure. If I'm not mistaken, the procedure took about 8 hours from start to finish. The doctor prescribed me some painkillers and antibiotics. She instructed me on what best practice and care method for me to get the best outcome for the short term and long term. As usual, I was then given a ride back to the hotel. Honestly, I felt no pain as if I didn't just go through surgery. Thus, I decided to go for a walk around the hotel and town and saw a beautiful food market, gift shop and spoke with a couple of the locals it was a fun evening. On the third day of being in Mexico, it was time to leave and as always, I was picked up by a driver, Richard from the clinic to be taken to the San Diego international airport. Richard was another great staff of the Neopel Clinic was on time and gave me some tips on what to do for my next trip back (which, I plan on coming back in 12 months). Dr.Hernandez did clarify that my next trip for my hair should be in a couple of years. In my opinion, NEOPEL Clinic is one of the best restoration clinics in Tijuana. When it comes to service, price and overall value, I highly recommend it. I know the team will take care of you. If you're curious about my before and after photos, I will be posting updated results. I had my FUE procedure done 6 weeks ago and let me start of by saying that it was an amazing experience!! From start to finish, 5 Stars all the way. Doctor Hernandez, Dr. Miguel and their staff went far and beyond to make me feel welcomed ,comfortable and made my procedure a great experience. This is my second hair transplant procedure. My first was a few years back at Bosley in Beverly Hills. The service at Neopel far surpassed what i received at Bosley at a fraction of the price. Had I'd known of Neopel, I would have came here instead of Bosley. From the initial consultation with Dr. Hernandez, I knew i was at the right place. Dr. Hernandez listened to my concerns and gave me suggestions on how we could solve my hair issues. One thing that i really appreciated was her honesty. Dr. Hernandez was very clear at explaining what was possible and gave me realistic expectations of the outcome. Day of the procedure : I met with Dr. Hernandez again. I was a little nervous. She is a very welcoming person and through our conversation relaxed me. She and Dr. Miguel drew a wonderful hairline. They drew it twice. I had two hair line options. I chose the second (picture is included). One of my concerns was pain. During my first transplant at Bosley I experienced a lot of pain and it left me skeptical about doing another hair transplant. It was completely different at Neopel. Yes, the first initial shots to the head hurt but its a pain that lasts just a few seconds and from that point on its painless. Throughout the procedure Dr. Hernandez and Dr. Miguel constantly ask you if your comfortable and make sure they give you the following shots before the pain starts agin. The procedure was virtually painless. Dr. Miguel then proceeded to harvest the follicles. He meticulously spent the next few hours finding follicles with one, two, and three hairs. This was a very long process but Dr. Miguel kept giving me breaks where i could stand and stretch. I Even took 2 long naps during the extractions. It was finally time for lunch and i told them that i was craving a burger. They were so kind to me. They sent someone to Carls Jr. and brought me a burger fries and a drink. After the follicle extractions were done, Dr. Hernandez proceeded to place the follicles on my head. It took a few hours but the time passed very quickly . We talked and laughed. At the end of the transplant i was very satisfied with the amount of area they covered (pictures are included) . Recovery was easy. The hardest part was having to sleep up-right at a 45 degree angle for 3 days. The swelling was very minimal and hardly noticeable. The swelling went down in a three days (pictures included). There was no pain during the recovery process and I was very comfortable and satisfied knowing I had gone to the RIGHT place. It has been six weeks since my transplant and my transplanted hair has shed. Now we start the waiting game. We'll start seeing results in a few months. If I could give Dr Hernandez and Dr Miguel 6 out of 5 stars, I would. From pick up, to the extraction, to the placement, to the ride home everything was exceptional. My ride to the procedure arrived on time and she made the initial nerves quiet as we joked about translating from English to Spanish. The initial consultation in Dr Hernandez office helped visualize what could be with the FUE transplant. She drew on hairline multiple times -- I could immediately tell I was in the right hands with the precision and time she took to get it right with her years of experience. By this point all the nerves were gone. Dr Miguel did my extractions and the only pain I felt was the initial needle numbing localized areas. Hell, I even took a couple hour nap! The extractions took about 7 hours for +/- 4,000. Then we broke for lunch where they provided the best pork and carne asada tacos I've ever had. Thoroughly recommend if they give you an option to pick the tacos. The pork was my favorite. After 30-45 mins break we prepared for the placement. Once again, no pain at all. Only a few spots where the localized anesthesia didn't take place but Dr Hernadez made sure to ask multiple times and check in with me to make sure there was no pain. After all was said and done, she arranged for a ride back to my hotel with a goodie bag of post operation care. Dr Hernandez made sure to go through each step day by day and made sure that I understood how to treat post op. I loved the entire experience. I'll be back in a year or so to finish the back crown and can't wait. So excited to have my hair again. I had my appointment on July 8, 2022. I was at first a little nervous about my surgery because I have never had a surgery done outside the US. I first met Dr. Hernandez a few months prior to my surgery and she explained the possible procedures for me. She was very confident and knowledgeable. She explained that harvesting hairs from donor area would be done by hand as opposed to the ARTAS machine that I have read about. She said by hand was better. She was right because Here at FUE clinics in Orange county and in LA they recommend the same procedure. Dr. Miguel first Harvests hair and then Dr. Hernandez replants the donor hair where needed. They numb the areas so that you don't feel any pain, and I barely felt anything, when my wife asked me if it hurt?, I said that it didn't , and that I don't even feel any pain post surgery, it just looks like it hurts but it does not. they implanted 2,850 follicles so this comes out to about 1,500 hair grafts which might be better then implanting more grafts because hair follicles need to heal and if you implant too many then the other implanted hair follicles wont heal and die out, or your original hair you have could also have a shock and die out. They also gave me a good lunch during a break and they even put you up at a hotel plus a ride to and back from clinic. Overall I had a very good experience , I went in a little nervous and I came out feeling confident. I have already recommended them to a friend and he already has his first consultation coming up. So if you want to save thousands of dollars compared to us prices this is a great place to get your hair transplant done, us prices are way too overpriced and the Dr's want to scare you about choosing the right place, blah blah blah. I went in for a procedure today. I talked Dra.Hernandez and her husband prior to my appointment. They are highly professional and right away they make you feel welcomed. I feel great, I chose this clinic. My procedure was excellent and a success ! They take their time and reccomend what's the best look for you. The staff here is awesome. There was no pressure for dates or for me to proceed with the process. Everything was left up to me. I phoned when I was ready and the team immediately began making arraignments. Since you don't see many women doing a hair transplant review I thought I would finally do one! I had a procedure here 7/2016, so I'm 3 years postop now. My transplant went very well that day, recovery was a lil painful (I mean it is your scalp), and my transplants are still in place to this day!! Awesome! I will have to go eventually to do it again on the area that was pretty much empty, however it's an absolute night and day difference to how it was. I had hair placed in three areas on my head. I have to start off by saying I'm a skeptic. I'm skeptical of everything and everyone until I'm proven wrong. Honestly I had a lot of red flags but I went ahead anyway. Its always nerve wrecking going to another country for a procedure. So let's begin my review. When I contracted the clinic they asked me to send photos and described wheat I want done. I complied and awaited a response. After talking over several emails I decided to take a chance and fly to San Diego then cross the border into Mexico for a transplant. The rental car agencies that I spoke to didn't want there cars to go through Mexico. So I ended up not getting a rental car and taking a lyft to my hotel. I contacted these folks and they sent someone to pick me up the next morning for the procedure. The lady arrived later than she said she'd be there due to the weather and was very apologetic. She drove us into Mexico and we had a great conversation. I then came into the medical building that they shared with two other medical professionals. Dentist and a doctor. The doctor introduced herself took pictures and we spoke about expectations and came to a agreement after a spirited debate. They took me back into the clean room and did the procedure. To be honest it was a little painful at times but 80% of the procedure I didn't feel a thing. Because I am African American this physician only does Fut instead of Fue. So she inserted the maximum number of grafts for $3500.00. I think the grafts came out very well. I will do my best to send updates. I just got back to my hotel room, the procedure was finished about 3 hours ago. Oh and I forgot to mention they fed me and transported me for free. I'd just like to start off by thanking Mr and Mrs Hernandez and their team even the receptionist from the very bottom of my heart! Everything went as well as I could of imagined. Everyone staffed was very kind, generous and had good humor, but of course they were all professionals which made my experience more comforting. The area was safe and within walking distance. Me and my friend who were both having the FUE procedures both walked by the facility to see how far it was from the hotel that we chose that was included with the package for the procedure. There were numerous restaurants on the way there and residents in the neighborhood that greeted you with kindness. NeoPel is a safe clinic during these covid times they actually tested us on the day or our procedures with a rapid blood diagnostic test. We also got covid tested back in our area as recommended by Dr. Hernandez. The only pain I had was when they gave me local anestesia, but that was expected and tolerable to me. After that I could not feel any of the procedure being done. I was excited that I finally made this great investment in myself. It was my first time doing any type of surgery and it was all done very professionally and with care. Overall I would recommend them to anyone and give them the opportunity to restore a youthful apperance and bring confidence back into your lives.
