We stumbled onto this place walking down Berry St. It is a cool looking place. We were greeted right away and allowed to choose our own seats. The restaurant was about half full so it wasn't too crowded or vacant which makes for a nice atmosphere. The service was friendly and attentive. We ordered one each of the 2 gin drinks on special and they were both divine. Next the chorizo plate, the Spanish ham plate, the blue cheese plate and the tortilla with a side of the sourdough bread. The meats were exceptional, the blue cheese was insanely good the bread was good, not exceptional in any way, but still good and the tortilla was a complete miss for us. Shame too because I rarely see it on a menu and when I do I always order it but alas it was not good. It is possible I am spoiled since I have had homemade tortilla learned from a Spanish grandma.
When the manager came by and saw we were finished he started to clear the plates and enquired about the barely eaten tortilla. I explained we didn't like it and he immediately said he would take it off the bill, which we hadn't expected at all. He was very friendly and did not seem offended which is always refreshing. He stayed and chatted with us for a bit and then brought 2 after complimentary dinner drinks to us, also completely unexpected and kind. The drinks were liquor 43 and it was really really good. We had never had it before and are happy to know about it now thanks to his kindness and excellent customer service.
We highly recommend this place!! read more
