However he was of good mind but needed advanced care. In March 2023 we moved him to the Manor and their care was decent through April. However when my father became Ill, with what he thought was maybe a bad cold, he asked for a doctor. The nurses did not have a doctor come to see him, as he came, but passed him by, by mistake. Two days later, my father calls me - has a terrible cough, I called and asked the front desk to make sure he gets the doctor on Thursday - they assured me he was in good hands. The doctor doesn't come on Thursday - Friday my mother, who was also not feeling well goes to check up on him and he is deathly ill. They missed the window for someone who had Pneumonia to get him a doctor, despite him asking for one twice that week, and tried to pawn it off as unnecessary. Of course, he goes to the doctor and he has Pneumonia. Unfortunately, he has a bounce back weekend that gave us hope, but the he the pneumonia was so bad with coughing he couldn't swallow as he had had this for 7 days before seeing a doctor - only when we called to have the ambulance take him. We called, THEY did not. There are many mistakes I've made in life. Choosing this nursing home, to take care of my father I count among the worst mistakes of my adult life. They they knew he had MS, with the #1 cause of death being Pneumonia - which they assured me they knew what that looked like.... well, they ignored his pleas for a doctor and - while MS complications are what killed him, with Pneumonia - their lack of care was the reason he lost perhaps 6-12 months of life. The only reason I did not sue is I was advised by lawyers that the case was not strong enough as he was already pretty sick, and we knew Covid and or Pneumonia would have to be aggressively treated if found. We also abided by his instructions that he did not want to be intubated, because the odds of people with secondary progressive MS coming back from that was less than 1% If you are looking for a place to die, they're a place that has kind workers that may make that happen. For us, in the end, they proved to be completely incompetent and cost me months perhaps a year more with my father. Consider this a warning. BTW, Medicare, once we were able to apply for it, approved his care post-mortem. He literally wasn't there long enough for the paperwork to be able to be filed and approved.

I was in occupational therapy in Florida and was healing well. I came back to Ohio in May and found a place that did PT. I was with them for 6 weeks, with no improvement. I found Jody thru google search because I was looking for someone that just did hand therapy. I came to Jody with very limited range of motion with my wrist, as well as a frozen shoulder. In a few visits, I was making noticeable improvement with my range of motion as well as pain! Jody spends an entire hour with me. She has her very experienced hands on me the entire time. It's like she can feel thru my skin and knows exactly how to treat me for each visit, and each one is different. I can honestly say that I recommend Jody Heyman 100%. She has given me the use of my hand and shoulder back. I am no longer in pain and its nice to be able to do the things that I enjoy that I was unable to do up until now. I am truly indebted to her. She is very compassionate and caring and makes my visits very worthwhile. Thank you Jody, you truly are amazing!

First of all, beware of the name. it is Landerbrook TRANSITIONAL care. The only thing it has…read moregoing for it is the location and appearance from the outside. I was in this hole 5 years ago and I got scammed with the 5 star review rating, and shortly after arriving discovered they had been sold to another company that ripped out the carpeting with the gold fish (the only thing good about the place imo) and painted the orange walls (with black cabinetry) cream. This is now considered a SNF (skilled nursing facility) which imo is a joke. I arrived with the admitting nurse noting it was in my record that I had to take my meds with ice cream or sorbet or could not swallow them. They RAN OUT of the little individual cups not once BUT TWICE. At one point I was using a patch of a BP med. ANd what I observed was a NURSE who did NOT apply the medication patch, but ONLY the COVER for it. A NURSE. I followed some directions I'd seen and ASKED an aide to let the supervisor know I wanted to speak to them. There was NEVER any follow up. Food? Hope you have someone who can bring you meals. Clearly they get compensated somehow for meals, and they were charging something like $15 for a guest meal. Should be more like an enemy's meal. The cheaper the meal, the more $$ they can pocket. I intend to suggest to Medicare they allow each patient a dollar amount for meals each day...and that if the patient provides proof of being there and receipts for take out or delivery, they be compensated and the facility has that days allowance removed from their check. There were one or two decent meals in the weeks I was there. IMO the vegetables they served were what anyone else would reject. And they were grossly overcooked. Menus were heavy on pork and red meat. Best meals were those few times I indulged and had meals delivered from outside. Meal issues are nothing to ignore as you need your strength for participating in your therapy and recuperation. To that end the therapy here did not compare to the other facility I had been in. And worst of all was t he arrognance and disrespect by one particular OT. I deeply resented, even understanding the safety concerns, restroom escorts and audiences. I LIKE MY PRIVACY and found it especially revolting to face a sign on the bathroom wall that read something like "Safety before Dignity". REALLY?. How insulting and humiliating can they be, unless the demeaning attitude is not meant for younger seniors but older ones they discriminate against assuming their cognitive/mental functioning has diminished . They were hyper concerned and justified their BS in re to my personal habits including showering which I consistently refused. I'd rather go without than have an escort. And one day, the therapists (PT AND OT, nurse(s) and aides at least 5 people encircle the foot of my bed to harass me. The OT has the nerve to THREATEN me that I will be kicked out as I am not cooperating with "the plan" and medicare and/or my supplemental will not pay for me to be there as a result. I will be KICKED OUT! To which I responded GOOD! I don't want to be here anyhow! And same OT says " Do you really think you can manage on your own at this point?" And how about the stupidity and ignorance of Medicare paying for her to do therapy my giving me a ball of putty to pick stupid little beads out of? There was never anything wrong with my hands/fingers. What a waste. IN any case for my own reassurance, I did directly call Medicare and United HEalth Care and sure enough they confirmed: NO THEY WOULD NOT kick someone out and I had every right to refuse any treatment I wished! I would never ever ever suggest this hole to anyone. How it got 5 stars is beyond me. Are there worse places? For sure, but the only benefit of this place is its location. I chose it for it's convenience and proximity to home and friends visiting. Sometimes a little bit further drive may well be worth it.

I was hoping someone would have submitted a review by now. I would not recommend this establishment…read moreto anyone. At the time my father was there it was during Covid. They were short staffed and the staff they did have was from an agency. By it being agency staff no one knew what was going on. There was a lack of communication from everywhere. I spent many days and nights at this place and rarely saw the same person more than twice. This is one of the facilities that you need to make sure a family member is always there to check up on your loved one. We have a large family so I am sure the staff knew they needed to be on their P's&Q's. My family consists of many nurses, STNAS, and health aids so we would check his vitals, make sure he getting his meds, changing his sheets and cleaning his wounds. We felt the staff was inadequate at performing these tasks. That's the good and the bad when you come from a medical family. Again because they literally had no staff I am sure they did not mind us stepping in and doing what needed to be done. Imagine if we had not had family members to step in the results probably would have been much worse. The only positive I can say is you do have to check into the building and there are codes to get out of the building so not just anybody coming to and fro. The facility has nice waiting areas as you can see from the pictures. I hope by now since Covid has died down some they are able to get some staff. But if you can take your family member somewhere else do your research and pick somewhere else.
