I came here for LASIK despite the lack of reviews for it and here was my experience:…read more The screening took about an hour, they checked my glasses prescription and did a eye exam. They have a pretty huge variety of machines and made sure to check my eye pressure, retinas, corneas, etc. After the screening I met the fellow then the doctor, both were fine, went over the various treatments they offer and why regular LASIK was the best option for me. They addressed my concerns about chronic dry eyes and halos which they explained are most common in people with dry eyes at baseline and people requiring high corrections respectively. The cost was $2400 + $300 for a new contoura corneal resurfacing option that further individualizes the correction to the shape of each person's eye and has been shown to improve outcomes in appropriate individuals. After that, I came back for a dilated eye exam where they took more maps of my eye, rechecked my prescription, rechecked my retinas, and went over the procedure in more depth. They do prescribe something to help you relax for the day of the procedure if you feel you need it. The day of the procedure went by super fast. When I was called, I got on a table with machines on each side. They numb your eyes up then put a speculum to keep your lids open, the first machine gently pushes on your eye and makes the flap in about 10 seconds. The table then moves a few feet to the other machine and your vision gets blurry when they flip the flap up. It was freaky because someone is basically using a tiny spatula on your eye but you can't feel it. Once the flap is up, you stare at a green light while the laser fires. They told me the laser recalibrates every 1/6000th of a second so you could sneeze and it'll still be spot on. They spatula the flap back in place afterwards, give you your drops, and you see them the next day. I was in the room a total of 15 mins probably. I could see decently well after the procedure but there was a white film over everything which they said was normal due to micro bubbles from creating the flap. My eyes were a little sore and teary like allergy season but this was 90% gone after 2 hours. The big thing for me was keeping up on the drops and using the artificial tears which they said was optional the first few days since you're doing antibiotic and steroid drops as well but I found it really helped with the vision clarity. My vision was recheck and they did slit lamp exams on my follow-up visits. Lights seemed a little glary and annoying for about a month but did go away and now my vision is two lines better than 20/20 and I don't need any sort of eye drops anymore. Overall I had a good experience at Cole and have had a good outcome from the LASIK. I love not having to constantly keep tabs on my glasses and would gladly do the procedure again now that I've been through it.

Her reasoning was that since I have endometriosis, my case was too advanced for her. Instead of a polite referral, she made me feel like an idiot for having made the appointment. I asked if I could at least get my yearly exam and she rolled her eyes. She continued to berate me for even thinking I could have an appointment with her. I was in tears and she said she had other appointments to get to. It was her nurse who had humanity, handed me tissues and suggested the doctor she sees personally. As I left I asked to speak with the office manager and attempted to file a complaint. I also requested a refund because why should I pay for the visit if she won't even talk to me? They said they would think about it and get back to me. Still waiting. Additionally, two separate friends saw her and she dismissed their concerns about what was wrong with them. Both friends were later diagnosed with rather advanced cervical cancer that she missed.

When her shift ended, my case was taken up by Dr. Ekman who had just started her shift. She burst into my room and introduced herself and announced that I would need a c-section without performing a physical exam on me. My husband and I stated we did not want one and the nurses even begged her to give them more time, but she was hell bent on performing a c-section that morning. Afterwards, I developed a massive infection under the fascia, meaning it was likely from something in the OR, and had to be readmitted to the hospital for 6 days away from my newborn + 3 weeks of self-administered antibiotics through a PICC line at home. My first night back in the hospital, she came to my hospital room and proceeded to push on my incision to (unsuccessfully) force it open to drain, with no pain relief. Later, I saw she lied on my chart when she wrote "family consents to c-section". The worst, most arrogant doctor I've ever encountered. Every c-section might just be another day at the office for her, but they have life-altering consequences for her patients.

Mom was in failing health and trying to rehab at the Brookside rehab center very close by. When it became clear she needed to go to the hospital, Brookside did not have transport available so the ambulance had to be called - so we had no choice but to have her go to St Johns. We would have never had wanted or picked to go here. Mom arrived around 6 AM. My brother got there at 7 AM. She was on a gurney in and out of consciousness in a hallway of the ER. There were twice as many people waiting to be seen in the ER than they had room for. She was tucked in next to the blanket warmer with one chair nearby. My brother stayed with her - around 4 PM he called me in Columbus to tell me there was nothing they could do - that she needed to go to hospice. But of course, hospice had no room for her. I packed my bags and got to the ER at 6:30 PM. She was still parked in the same spot. There was not room for us to be with her or we would be blocking traffic. My sister in law arrived a little later then my nephew and his girlfriend. We took turns standing near Mom and had to openly display our grief as we comforted each other and spent time with Mom. My SIL is a nurse and finally had had enough. After almost 14 hours on a gurney in the hallway in ER, my SIL advocated enough to get her sent to a private room. Once settled in the room, the staff was able to clean her up and get her comfortable. There was a breakroom near her room that we took turn hanging out in as it was too crowded for us in the room. My other nieces and nephew-in-law showed up during the night. The next job was to get her over to hospice. While we at least had some privacy to deal with our grief, it still was not as nice as the nearby hospice facility my dad had died at. Around 6 pm, they finally were able to transport her. I highly recommend you go some place else if you have any option. Even if you're dying, this is not a good place to go.

Tim responded instantly and we messaged back and forth for awhile about my issue. I decided to schedule an assessment and am glad I did. He was able to get me in the next day to evaluate, diagnose, and treat my shoulder issue in just one session. On top of this, he was extremely professional and knowledgable in his field. In addition to addressing my pain, Tim helped me gain a significant amount of range of motion in my shoulder. He also taught me the proper ways to strengthen my weak points and improve my posture. His hands on manual treatments and exercise program were definitely worthwhile. I am now able to get through my long surgery days without experiencing any stabbing shoulder pain. I will definitely reach back out the next time I experience an orthopedic and or musculoskeletal issue. Thanks again Tim!
