I was in the area for work and decided to come here for dinner with colleagues. There were not many restaurant options in the area to begin with, and this place seem promising. From the very start and until the end; service was excellent. Our waitress was attentive and friendly. The food on the other hand was decent at best. I ordered the fish tacos and i wish there was more seasoning and sauce on the fish and tacos. It tasted bland and needed more flavor. I also ordered the pina colada and that tasted great. It was made not too strong just how I like it. Not sure if i will ever come back here as it is so far and out of the way but it was a fun night with colleagues. read more

Wife and I stopped for a late lunch on a saturday...only customer's in the place. Service was so-so, checked on once the whole meal. Fried chimichonga was the smallest I'd ever seen....smaller than a taco bell burrito. The Beef was really tough and burnt on the ends. The whole experience was very disappointing. I hope the soldiers at Ft Pickett read this and don't waste thier money. read more

Service horrible didn't make it to actually eating after waiting in the lobby area and taking it awhile to be seated while all the servers were all on their phones one finally got up from a booth and seated us then were seated on the end and she left so we sat there and watched them walk back and forth no chips no drink order so we decided to leave. read more

The food is always amazing and I typically don't chose authentic Hispanic food, which says a lot! I don't eat at other Hispanic restaurants, only this one :-) the service is always great, and tha ambiance is relaxing and not to overly stimulating. read more

The only issue was getting service after being seated.. Food was good.. Clean, parking not good.

The wife and I have been looking for a new place for Mexican so I stopped in today for a little recon. It's a typical , be it small, little Mexican restaurant in downtown Blackstone. The place looked pretty tired and worn down and in need of a good cleaning. One of the staff was watching TV on his phone in the booth next to me with the volume turned way up. Annoying! At some point he moved on and that's when I realized that (get this now) Tom and Jerry was playing on a TV behind the bar. It was annoyingly loud too, I just couldn't hear it at first for the guy on the phone. Anyway, that sets the tone for ambiance. It didn't get any better with the food. I ordered shrimp fajitas with refried beans, the meal also came with tortillas, guacamole and sour cream. There were barely any shrimp on the plate when it arrived, mostly peppers, onions and tomatoes. At first I thought they were buried, but no, there were hardly any shrimp. There were about three whole (small) shrimp and four more pieces of shrimp, as in chopped in half. By the time I loaded a tortilla with everything the shrimp were overwhelmed and I couldn't even taste them. The beans were soupy and had a interesting (weird) shade of red to them. The taste however was okay, not good but okay. The waiter was prompt for the most part, but not really friendly. Didn't try any of the drinks/margaritas as it was lunch time so I cannot comment on those. The prices were reasonable for todays prices. I gave it three stars because it is probably pretty typical of what you might find anywhere in this region of the country but I wouldn't go back. read more

I don't know where to start. This place is amazing, I'm here maybe 1-2 a week. Never go wrong with queso dip. I normally get the Alambra. Huge serving in a hot sizzling bowl. Staff is very nice and they have never messed up my order! Remember tip your waiters!!! read more

We go here at least once a week to eat and always receive a warm welcome by the owner Nelson who is always on hand to make sure everything runs smoothly. My husband and I have eaten here almost weekly, we wanted to like this place because frankly there aren't a lot of choices in the area. The last 4 times here, the music was so loud it was uncomfortable eating our meal. The last 2 times left with a terrible headache. It makes for an unpleasant experience, and I can't wait to leave. The salsa they bring with the chips is an incredible tiny amount in the bottom of 2 small bowls. It is so ridiculous that most of your chips are eaten dry. Yes, they will bring you more ,but depending on the waitress/waiter, you might not be able to ask because some give terrible service, some never refill your glass or check on you. The food is hit or miss depending on the day . Some of the menu items will be 80% onions and peppers with next to no meat. It will leave you with terrible indigestion, and I just don't understand why a dinner that cost 15.00 consists of a Tablespoon of meat, and 2 Tablespoons of beans as the side. And like I said before, it's hit or miss, depending on the day. They must have a cook that thinks he's clever cheating the customer.which happens a good percentage of the time. My review is based on eating here over 50 times, so I believe it to be spot on. read more
