The best obituary platform and such caring people. They're so accommodating and sincere during a difficult time.

Knowing professionally the history of care and thoughtfulness I 've experienced working with them over the years, it was a no brainer. Brandon and Byron were both exceptional in caring for us and my mom. They ensured our requests were met, including the last minute changing of fresh flowers and had written notes we wanted her to have and to hold in her final moments here on earth. I am forever grateful for you, Brandon and Byron, and your great care and compassion. Losing a wife, mother and grandmother so quickly is so hard. You helped make this traumatic experience and time for us more easy to bear. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. -Erin

The grounds are well maintained and look very nice. Parking can be a little tricky, especially if there is more than one service happening at the same time, like the night that I attended. When I walked in the front door, there were directional signs as well as staff members to direct traffic to the appropriate service. The facility is nice and has a large chapel for services as well as rooms for families to greet guests. It has a very LDS feel to it, from the décor to the LDS hymnals in the chapel. Although based on another review, I'm sure they will accommodate other religions/beliefs as well.

When my father's prepaid funeral still ended up costing our family several thousand dollars more we…read moreknew we needed to 1) get my mom's funeral pre-paid and 2) do it somewhere with a more affordable cost. I saw the large sign Affordable Funerals and Cremations in St. George and decided to chek them out. My brother met with them and said he was impressed with their customer service and the costs quoted. We pre-paid at half the cost of my father's funeral. My mom passed recently and we discovered the trust we had in Affordable Funerals and Cremations was well placed. Their communication with us throughout the process from start to finish was excellent - especially considering that so much of the planning was taking place over Thanksgiving holiday weekend, and we all lived out of town. They connected seamlessly with the cemetery for the burial, leading us through the entire experience with compassion and ease. When we met to finalize payment the additional cost (for things like extra death certificates and newspaper obituaries) was minimal. And finally the work done by Elizabeth to prepare our mother so we could see her for the last time brought tears to our eyes. She looked like we wanted to remember her - so much so that we opted for an open casket, where previously we thought it would need to be closed. Based on our positive experience my siblings and I whole-heartedly recommend Affordable Funerals and Cremations.

The worst experience any parent or family member has to go through is losing a son or brother,…read moreespecially when the circumstances could have been avoided. For our family we lost our son, if that was not devastating enough for our family, Affordable Funerals and Cremations made it even worse. Due to the pandemic, we couldn't be with our son when he passed. He resided in St. George, Utah with his then fiancé and our family lives in Hawaii. So we trusted his fiancé to take care of cremation arrangements. She informed us that our son was taken to Affordable Funerals and Cremations in St. George, Utah and that he was scheduled to be cremated on a certain day. Well that day came and went but nothing. We didn't hear anything about my son. So I had his fiancé call to get an update. She informs me that our son's schedule was pushed back for the next day with no explanation. It continued on until 3 days after. I called the Funeral home directly and asked why my son's cremation keeps getting postponed. The Funeral Director gets upset with me and starts yelling at me over the phone about how he has no control of the cremation schedule and that unexpected things occur beyond his control that sets everyone's schedule back. I get it, I do! But what I don't get is that why did it take for me to call the Funeral home to get an update. Doesn't the Funeral Director get trained to have empathy on the families having to deal with their loss? I know how it is to work alone, short staffed, or whatever the case may be but I also know how to prioritize and communicate with my clients, customers, or in his case - families mourning a loss. After dealing with that, I had to keep calling to get updates on the eta on our urns that we had ordered through their office and again when our son's ashes was sent to us. I don't need to be catered too or think I am entitled to any special treatments for I know I am not the only one that had lost a loved one. But I believe that the Funeral Director and their staff should learn how to empathize with families going through a difficult time in their lives.
