I destroyed a tire in the potholes in front of the NELCO. I contacted the management, and they said it wasn't their problem. I'm out $250 for a tire and damaged rim. It seems that I'll have to consult an Attorney & take this matter to court. This pothole issue has been an ongoing problem for years.....nothing has been done to solve this problem...WHY? I suggest you come in a 4x4 in order to navigate the craters. read more

After reading the other reviews for this place, I was worried about the experience we were going to have, but since it's the only theatre within an hour from us it had to do. So here's the honest truth: The place is run down. This is obvious by the out of order ticket booth in the front, the giant potholes in the parking lot, the bowl of hot dogs sitting uncovered in the Tupperware bowl on the countertop... among other things. However, the staff was a LOT nicer than the other reviews stated. We went for a 7 o'clock show and were told that we should go for the 7:30 because the other theatre didn't have a working conditioning system in it and it was hot. That was greatly appreciated. The popcorn was good and the drinks did taste a little funny but the drink machine seemed to be clean. The movie started on time with trailers before it. All in all it was adequate and not as terrible as everyone else has said before me. I think they're trying they're best, but maybe don't have adequate resources to keep the place in tip top shape. read more

Long lines, only two employees and one of them was working concessions and printing tickets for people who purchased their tickets online, ticket booth was closed, kiosk was not working so we couldn't print our tickets. Purchased tickets online but had to wait in long line at concession stand to get actual tickets printed. Attempted to order nachos but was told they didn't have any. Only snack available was popcorn. No drinks available, only water. By the time we got our tickets the movie had already started so we missed the first part. Arrived at 12:30, movie started at 12:45. Last time we were at Nelco they were selling drinks but there was no ice. Management needs to do better! Will not return to this establishment. read more

The absolutely worst movie theatre I have ever been to in my entire life, I'd rather buy a pirate copy than watch a new film release here. Really needs to be upgraded and a deep cleaning because apparently the employees doesn't clean up there is popcorn all over the floors and the floors are very sticky from all the sodas that has been dropped on them and don't even get me started about the soda machine. You have to stand in line at the concession stand to buy tickets which of course makes you miss the beginning of the movie. As far as movie presentation goes it's poor most of the time the staff forgets to turn the lights off so you are basically stuck watching the movie with bright lights shining down on you. People are constantly talking and texting while the movie is playing the staff refuse to take action to put a stop to it. read more

Let's see. I don't have very high expectations when I go to the Nelco. No AC in the theater I was in. That's ok. It wasn't too hot. The screen was kinda dim, but at least it wasn't yellow tinted like I've seen before at the Nelco. The sound was muffled, but I could hear what was being said. I was not expecting the same quality that I expect in a large theater in a big city. What I couldn't tolerate was the group of 10-15 teenagers going in and out of the theater while the movie was playing! They were running up and down the stairs, talking loudly, using phones flashlights, etc. It seemed like they were just hanging out and using the theater as a playground. It was impossible to concentrate on the movie! I gave it a good 20 minutes before I had had enough. There was no security and no one seemed to be in charge. I have never gotten up and left a movie in my whole life, but I did last night. I will never go back to the Nelco. read more

Facilities are absolutely grotesque. I don't think the air conditioning is functioning. We were all sweating sitting watching a movie. nachos were on the menu but the worker told me he only had the chips. haven't had cheese in weeks. it's sad that this is the only theater around. definitely sub pa. read more

This place is terrible. Every time I'm in town, I try to give them a chance. Either the movie doesn't start on time OR it starts exactly on time with no previews. I once had to watch a movie with the lights still on for at least 30 minutes. My visit today was the worst! The movie was supposed to start at 11:25am. We arrived at 11:15 but the doors were locked and lights off! There were several cars in the parking lot waiting for the theater to open. At 11:19am, a car pulls up and 2 employees finally open the door. We still had to wait a couple of minutes before going in. There was an extremely long line and only 1 person checking customers out for BOTH tickets and food. We didn't get to the front of the line until 11:30am and by the time we entered the theater, the movie was starting. We went to sit at the top and ended up in wet seats. Upon turning our cellphone flashlights on, we noticed the floors and seats totally wet...AND rain was coming through the ceiling (theater 6). We moved down to the front rows to prevent having to miss anymore of the movie. On top of that, the theater smelled like mildew. Worst movie experience ever!! We notified the staff of the leaking roof after the movie. Hopefully, the owners will care enough to resolve the situation. read more

They are the only theater around so I guess they can get away with being sub par. I'm not local but we go to the movies when we are in town visiting family every year on the holidays and this place is always just as bad as I remember. This year there were even pot holes in the parking lot big enough to swallow a small car! That's in addition to the dirty lobby and theater, broken arcade games, unfriendly staff, and lack of newly released and highly rated movies. I wouldn't be surprised if this placed closed its doors in the near future, after all they keep the front doors locked during showtimes away. read more

When the original owners sold it the place took a turn for the worse. We deserve much better. It's almost like because it's in Greenville it's ok if it's run down. Yikes. This place already has a small selection, but then it also follows that up with stale popcorn and weird tasting soda? Like I'm wondering why it tastes so weird, perhaps the filter is messed up? Either way, their entire concessions section needs to be updated. The theater itself was alright but the audio for the film was really loud to the point where it was distorting the sound. Thankfully the movie was good so we got over it but dang. Nasty bathrooms and cinemas. The people are always rude and unhelpful. You have to buy tickets in the concession line, so if you want to get in the movie on time go early! Maybe the movie will start on time, maybe the sound will come on, maybe the lights will be turned off, who knows it is always a crap shoot if any of these will happen properly. If you can I would advise catching a movie when you travel, so it will be an enjoyable experience. read more

Today I took my niece and son to see the 11:00 showing of "Ant-Man and Wasp." We waited at the front door til around 11:05 when someone decided to unlock the front door. Employees were still just showing up for work. By the time we got our tickets and food, and got into the theater, it was 11:15, and they already had the movie playing...we had missed the beginning! There was also a random small child, I assume he belonged to an employee who followed us into the theater and tried to sit with us...no adult watching him or ticket. I finally had to take him back up to the lobby to find whoever he was with . If you have an 11:00 showing, why would you all JUST open the doors at 11 or after, and just have the staff showing up to work? Especially if you're going to start the movie at 11 too (is it on a timer?). There was one other employee out side waiting to get in with us....but no one was there to unlock the door and let her in to do her job. One dedicated employee. She was the only one who apologized to the customers. I am visiting from out of town, and every time we come we usually go to a movie. However, the past few times it is ALWAYS something like this going on. It costs too much to deal with problems like this. I don't think we will bother with the Nelco anymore. read more

This theatre is the only game in town.It is run down and falling apart. The soft drink machine is awful. At movie prices you would think that it would be a concern but it has been that way for over a year. The restrooms are bad.Some sinks have no running water and the stall does not have a lock on it. It would take about2 minutes to fix it. Prices are very reasonable and the the service is efficient. The theatre is a microcosm of the city, run down and in need of a renovation. read more

Sound quality and picture quality is fine. The line to pay your admission goes fast and you can usually get in in less than five minues even if the line extends out into the parking lot. Things can get silly and raucous in horror movies shown late at night, but in a way this is part of the experience isn't it? I also note that the managers do try to bring in movies to appeal to the African-American demographic (a good choice which helps to keep the theater financially healthy and results in many ambitious quality films making it to the Nelco that might not do so otherwise). They also make sure at least one family-oriented movie is showing every weekend. I'd certainly appreciate seeing more of the Oscar-caliber movies show up. And some movies tend to stay a little too long, frankly, despite not being all that popular. I would also try to contract with a good coffee company and provide more tables in the lobby for people waiting between features to enjoy a nice coffee and conversation before going into their respective theater. read more

The Nelco used to be a gem. The staff there is horrible. Their attitudes at the concession stand really make you not want to buy anything. When I went to fill my drink, there was green mold where the ice dispenses. Considering that this is the only theater in the entire Delta, you'd think they would try to keep it nice so the Delta doesn't wind up with NO theater. I've also wondered if they are a racist company because there are no white people on the staff and I've been going to this theater for over a year now. I think they should diversify their staff a little bit. The theater is kept clean. I have to give credit to them for that. However, with all of the other issues, trust me, I've only named a few, maybe the Nelco should come under new management, or go back to the old one. read more

I would rate this theater a negative zero. I have no intentions of ever returning. My personal rights were violated when the lady taking the tickets searched my purse.
