If you're a man of Mediterranean descent, body hair is not a lifestyle choice. It's a birthright…read more As a Greek man, my ancestors were herding goats on mountainsides looking like walking Brillo pads. So walking into European Wax Center to have strangers rip hair out of my shoulders feels... culturally complicated. My people did not survive centuries of history just for me to wake up one day and say, "You know what would be fun? Let's pour hot wax on my body and rip out my follicles like I'm preparing for the Olympics." And yet... here I am. European Wax Center is clean, efficient, and very easy to book online. Which is great, because it means you never have to call a stranger and say the sentence: "Hello, I'd like to schedule some aggressive hair removal." You check in and within minutes someone is calmly spreading hot wax on you like they're frosting a cake. A cake that is unfortunately attached to your shoulders. Then comes the rip. Somewhere deep inside, my inner Greek barbarian wants to roar and run back into the mountains. Instead I sit there quietly thinking, "Ah yes... this is how the modern man suffers." The staff are nice and professional, though the vibe is definitely efficient rather than spa-day indulgence. This is less "luxury relaxation" and more "well-run hair removal logistics operation." I respect that. Huge bonus: I can walk there. Few things are more humbling than casually strolling down the street knowing you're about to pay someone to violently remove your fur. For the record, I am not going full dolphin. The chest hair stays. That's protected territory. Bear energy must remain somewhere. ;) This is simply about taming the wilderness so I don't look like I'm wearing an invisible sweater. Final verdict: Clean. Fast. Convenient. My inner Greek barbarian hates every second of it. But my summer shirts are thriving.

Ali uses hard wax which I like, and she is fast and painless. She is very detailed oriented, thorough, and just makes you feel comfortable like you've known her for years. Another bonus - you can just text her for making or changing appts! I LOVE that. Huge bonus points w me for texting. I will def be back, and she even gives discounts if you come in on the regular! Absolute BEST skin care/esthetics experience possible…read more I have been going to Michelle for over a decade for all my skin care & waxing essentials. She is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about her trade and is truly gifted. I went to Michelle every month for facials and brow waxing/tints and always left feeling refreshed, rejuvenated and ultimately looking my best. She carries the whole Dermalogica line and is really great with recommending the right products. If she hadn't left Colorado, I would still be going to her for my monthly spa treatments. I will definitely see her when I visit Tahoe. I strongly suggest going to Michelle. Overall an amazing person and awesome experience!

Before I met Michelle mine were thin and a little patchy. She worked very hard to get them back for me. My brows are now full and perfect every day, all because of Michelle! Along with brow shaping, Michelle is an expert at waxing. I get my lip waxed by her on the regular, and I always leave feeling gorgeous. Michelle is also a fabulous skin care expert and I've never had a better facial! I've even gone to some more pricey salons with friends for facials, but those never held a candle to Michelle. There is so much that Michelle can do for you to help you feel great in your skin and to maintain your look once you get home. I can't say enough wonderful things about Michelle! I left…read morefeeling disappointed, not because of the esthetician herself, but because the service did not match the price or the luxury feel I felt was advertised. The facial felt very basic. There was no steamer, the mask felt like a simple paper mask, and the rubber gloves made the service feel more medical than relaxing. What disappointed me most was what was missing: no neck or chest massage, no hand or arm massage, and overall very little of the relaxing "spa" experience you usually expect during a facial.  The esthetician herself was kind and professional; please note that she did great. My issue is more with the overall service and value from the spa. But honestly, the experience felt very basic for the cost.
