We wanted luxury vinyl flooring in our master bath, and settled on an item that we could only get from Barb-Lin. My wife first inquired with a salesman named Frank and received a price. When she went back to place the order, the price went up. On asking Frank about the price increase, he denied giving the first price. We wanted it, so the order was placed. My wife asked for 4 cartons, but Frank strongly recommended she buy 5 cartons to account for waste, so she bought 5. After the job was completed and 3-1/2 cartons were used, I called and spoke to Frank about a return. He seemed miffed and said he would call me back. Hearing nothing by the end of the day, I called him back. Frank advised that the store would not take the return and the mill (he meant manufacturer) would charge a restock fee plus shipping, costing more to return than what I had already paid. I asked what the store's return policy was, and he essentially said the store didn't have one and they leave it up to the mill (manufacturer). He said he would call me if someone wanted that same vinyl tile, where he would give a full refund. I expressed my frustration that the chance of that would be near zero, to which he said "it could happen". So I'm stuck with a $160 carton. As originally calculated, only 4 cartons were needed. Had we known the item was not returnable, there's no way we would have purchased the additional carton. So, good job Frank, you got us. I hope you enjoy the $8 commission you squeezed from us. Be very careful if you must deal with Barb-Lin. For me, a pricey lesson.

I would not recommend Princeton rug gallery. The first time I went there, I was quoted a verbal…read moreprice which was acceptable. Unknowingly, I was charged for the higher original price which was not realized until later. I decided to let this pass. The second time I went there, a rug of interest had two tags. the second tag was a discounted price from the original. I accepted the lower second tag price and did not realize until later that they had charged me for the original price. When confronted on the phone of this discovery, the owner denied that there were two price tags. I have a picture of the rug where the two tags were ripped off the rug leaving the plastic tag holders in the carpet. As a result of these two experiences, I would not recommend this gallery.

I wanted to love this company given the positive reviews. They make a great first impression:…read moreresponsive, timely and friendly. However, the sales rep Zach and his manager Aaron were not knowledgeable and made many mistakes that threw us back to square one several times. Initially they told me my hardwood floor can be reinstalled back after squeak fix. The subcontractor installer (barely speaking English) then came and said it absolutely cannot. Then we decided to install new floor, thickness 3/4. I requested samples. They only had small ones not showing variability of wood. I had to borrow big samples from a floor store nearby. After choosing the floor, another installer came and said that the thickness I needed is actually 5/16, and there are very few options in that thickness. Now I have to pick up a new floor and request samples again. At this point, the manager does not return my calls and messages, spontaneously answering days later with personal lame excuses, different each time. At this time, six weeks has passed since I initially contacted them. No samples. I request my deposit back by email, voicemail, and in person from two receptionists, and then Aaron himself. I even requested to speak to Paul (the owner) to tell him that my only point of contact openly ghosts me, but the receptionist didn't put me through, and Paul didn't call back. Ten days passes. I still don't have my deposit back, and nobody picks up at the office. I started with them April 23, and it is now June 11. Decide for yourself.

When I…read morepicked up my antique persian rug which they assured me would be cleaned carefully and professionally, I took it home and unrolled it and was horrified. One end of the rug was still damp and was stretched out of shape. From the appearance, I assume it was hung up with clamps to dry. Also, the edge binding on one long side had been severely damaged. The edge had shown signs of wear before it was cleaned, now almost the entire edge cord was falling out of the rug. The flat weaves on the ends appeared to have diminished in size as well, as if several rows were missing. Worst of all, the entire feel and body of the pile had changed. It had been a moderately heavy rug with thick wool pile. I noticed as I unrolled it that it felt much too soft and flexible, as if the wool had been pounded or pressure washed. Now when I walk across the rug it bunches and moves, which it never did before. Also, I noticed a very professional repair where two rows had been skillfully stitched together. I really suspect that the rug was pressure-washed.
