The staff here is polite and professional, but unfortunately, that's where the positives end. This…read morefacility seems far more focused on securing payment than providing actual patient care. Before you even speak to a dentist, you're prompted to purchase a membership--almost like admission to receive basic treatment. They also insist on scanning and storing your credit card "just in case" insurance doesn't cover something, which feels less about convenience and more about financial control. What truly stood out was being required to pay for services before even seeing the doctor. When I offered to pay after the appointment, as most reasonable patients do, I was denied service altogether. Apparently, financial assurance takes priority over patient comfort or trust. I was told repeatedly that the doctor would "do everything she said," and I simply asked for the same courtesy--that they trust I would pay once services were rendered. Refusing to provide care because a patient won't hand over unrestricted access to their financial information is, frankly, unethical. I can't speak to the quality of the dental work since I never got that far--but the disregard for patient respect and privacy was loud and clear. If you're comfortable exchanging your financial privacy for a basic filling, this may be the place for you. Otherwise, I'd recommend finding a clinic that values patients over payments.

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ Only go here if you…read moreare RICH!!! Sadly, I have to join the group of people who feel a bit scammed by the office. This is further proven by the fact that they were ADAMANT that I owed 600$ above my max payout of dental insurance. However, when I reminded them that I came in with a flyer that said $150 for a whole bunch of the stuff they had billed my insurance for and gotten WAY more than $150, suddenly, I was in the mid $300 owed. I reached out to my dental insurance and found out they are charging more than the norm and the insurance covers the norm. Most offices, will write off the difference knowing the higher price is ridiculous anyway. However, they seem to feel quite justified that the VIBE of the office, the little touches like pens, cookies for a company anniversary will be what keeps people coming back. This is true if you are only interested in working with the rich and fabulous. However, if you wish to work with regular people who have kids in college, mortgages to pay, and other economical needs then paying more for some silly gimmicks is marketing, not BETTER DENTAL CARE. I liked both Drs. I honestly only had negative experiences with the front desk staff. The dental care was not ANY better than I used to received at Family Dental Care in South Chicago. I honestly am upset at myself for not reading these reviews first. Lastly, I am SHOCKED that the office replied with someone's XRAY's that is a total HIPPA violation, or at least completely unethical at best!! Shame on you. Totally unprofessional.

Dr. Latocha himself is incredibly kind and an excellent surgeon. I was shocked at how smooth everything went. I had zero pain after my procedure, barely any swelling, and was even able to go out with friends that same night. By the next day, I didn't even need pain medication. The dissolvable stitches made healing super easy, and everything healed perfectly. If you're looking for an oral surgeon, I can't recommend Dr. Latocha enough. I'd send anyone I know to him in a heartbeat!

Mostly because of the pain and possibility of receiving news that is unsettling or downright scary. So when Thanksgiving loomed around the corner and I felt some sharp pains around the back of my jaw, I instinctively knew that most likely it was time to visit my dentist and see an oral surgeon check on my wisdom teeth. Sure enough, all 4 impacted teeth needed to be removed, otherwise, my grills would be looking worse off than a loose jigsaw puzzle. I was referred to Dr. LaTocha by my dentist and a couple of friends of mine who had gone to him. Even though perhaps he might be a bit on the gruff side and somewhat scary with his remarks (sorry, I don't have perfect gums/teeth - genetics do play a part and I do brush and floss), overall, I was satisfied with the surgery results and came away f without experiencing any pain. Yes, the inside of my mouth/cheeks were torn up from the surgery and it was a much bloodier mess than I anticipated, but as a patient, I thought the overall experience was smooth. I didn't have any pain after the surgery nor did I have need to use my prescription Vicodin. The ibuprofen was sufficient. When I sensed an infection and part of my jaw was swollen, his office was quick to get me in and have an antibiotic prescribed to me. Dr. LaTocha shares offices in several locations throughout Lake County, so he is a journeyman of sorts. You just have to make sure he's at the office that you prefer, or be willing to be wherever he is. His office staff are nice enough and the facilities are well-maintained. He does accept all major insurance and does have affordable payment plans, I think, for those not insured.
