I have what I'd call "dental anxiety" and they're very understanding and compassionate here. Normally I can't have anything more than an x-ray done without being knocked out with IV sedation, but they actually pulled a wisdom for me on my first ever visit here when I was in a lot of pain. I was surprised they would help so quickly and I got a blunt response... "your in pain, we dont leave people in pain" you've gotta respect that. They have some sedation options but aren't set up for IV sedation so keep that in mind. I got through it pain free with just a shot to numb it, I'm not normally so lucky, which speaks to the skill of the dentists here. They offer good referrals that suit my specific needs and they are knowledgeable about different options for treatment. They also take most insurance plans and can work with you to find a payment plan that works for you. As someone who's had work done here as well as used them as a middle man for various specialists I'd say they are worth checking out. I'm glad to have them nearby for emergencies.

And because I complained about this they won't follow up with the recommended work. It's hard getting appointments I'm sad more than mad at the disregarding of me as a client and unprofessional arrogance

First let me say I have not had consistent dental coverage for about 7 years or more. Fortunately,…read moremy teeth are still in good shape but in desperate need of a good cleaning. Going to Hawthorn Dental has been one of the best experiences I have ever had with a dental office. I went in for the first time about a month ago for an exam, X-rays and a cleaning. The front office person came from behind the counter, and sat down next to me to review how to fill out the paperwork. Nice touch. The wait was almost nonexistent. The dental assistant, Mimi was friendly and made sure I was comfortable. She even offered me a paraffin wax for my hands while I waited. I kindly accepted . What dentist office does that?? I'll tell you, none! Anyway, Judee my dentist finally came in to do the exam. She explained what she would be doing before she ever put a tool in my mouth. I felt like I understood what was happening during the entire exam. Plus I was relaxed with the little paraffin gloves on. When Judee was done she and Dr. Cheryl Mora reviewed my charts and X-rays and together they came up with a plan for me. Within the last month I have gone in for a 2 part deep cleaning and to have a cavity filled. Each visit has been very pleasant and believe it or not...no pain. Oh yeah...they also sent me a birthday card/video that was really cute. The entire staff took part in it ending with Dr. Mora's face falling in a cake lol cute. Bottom line, if you're looking for a great dental team that won't recommend unnecessary work and will treat you like family, this team is awesome! Really, get rid of your current dentist and come see them. You will not regret it.
