They have a mini fridge available with waters in the waiting room and a coffee station. Once called back, the appointment felt rushed. I had imaging done and then had a 2-3 minute interaction with Dr. Max. There was no discussion of options, risks, etc. I was prescribed an antibiotic and told to schedule the next two appointments for root canal retreatment. I was a bit disoriented. I did as asked but eventually cancelled those two follow up appointments and scheduled with a different practice with more time for patient care and education.

The office is very clean and up to the latest word in dentistry and endodontics. The staff, Taylor and Jessica, were wonderful, and Taylor called us today to ask how my wife was doing. The doctor was second to none this time again. My wife didn't feel a thing during procedure or today. Dr. Max asked her how she was feeling every step of the way during his 1.5-hour procedure. He explained every step and every X-Ray and scan before, during, and after the treatment (several X-Rays and CT scans), and he patiently answered our (especially my) every question (and I had many of them). How amazing is that?! He is so gentle, kind, and caring! SECOND TO NONE! 2023: I just found out that Dr. Max opened his new Grayslake Endodontics practice, and I decided to share our experience. I visited Dr. Max for root canal treatment twice 1-1.5 years ago in his previous office. He performed an extensive diagnostics and treated my root canal, and it was painless. My wife had her root canal done by Dr. Max as well, and she had great experience with him as well. He is not only an excellent endodontist/dentist/doctor with gentle bedside manners, but he is very down-to-Earth friendly guy. With my wife's experience, which was more severe from the dental perspective, Dr. Bahrani, adjusted her schedule to get her treated same day because of the significance of the issue. What I appreciate about Dr. Bahrani is her concern in my case was my significant and complex medical issues that exist before my dental issues. She gathered all the required information from other providers to provide the best possible solution for procedure anesthesia given limitations based on my medical conditions. I have heard from friends and family the horror stories of root canals and the pain and suffering from other endodontists. Dr. Bahrani's empathy in every step of the process from beginning to end was extraordinary if I had slightest wince she would not proceed until I was completely numb and comfortable. I had soreness but that is expected and that lasted less than 24 hours. The billing aspect is exceptional as well. Her staff, appropriately, bills for the services at the time of service because dental insurance is one of the most crazy and unique calculations, but within 24 hours of receiving the insurance payment credits you back with the difference. Additionally, I sincerely appreciate Dr. Bahrani and her staff doing the work of becoming a Delta Dental Premier provider which makes my life easier financially. Lastly, the ability to call, email, or text the practice with concerns is such an asset to get all things accomplished throughout the process is another helpful and beneficial aspect. The actual process took a few hours but other than that everything was fine. That was until the billing nightmares. I was harassed on my work phone where the billing coordinator told my coworker "Please have Christine call Accurate Endodontics back as she owes us money" (which I didn't owe them anything). I was processed under the wrong name with insurance. So I paid OVER what I actually owed for the entire procedure the same day at the office. I didn't owe them anything and I actually overpaid because they used the wrong percentage to estimate my total. They actually owed me! (I had to do the math with Linda multiple times over the phone- it was horrendous). Long story short Linda was trying to come after me for an additional $30 and then "billing/late fees" totaling around $100. Honestly the story doesn't even matter. I had multiple 30 minute phone calls with Linda, yes this is the owner and person who did my root canal, arguing with me and uses phrases such as "This is FUBAR" and telling me I was in the wrong. I didn't give her wrong information for my insurance yet she was still attacking me because I was processed under a different person who had worse insurance than me. I even had a coworker sit in to witness a phone call with her and after she was IN SHOCK by how Linda was speaking to me. She also lied and tried saying I signed some wavier about "mad cow disease and something overseas in France" and I still had to pay an additional $50 for that. So after the "$50" she only owed me $10. So I asked her to mail me the agreement I signed, she never did (because it was a lie). In the end she paid me the $60 that I overpaid from the beginning. I had my visit last Thursday afternoon. Friday - Sunday, able to mask trauma pain with Excedrin Migraine. Though, C'mon doc, could have used a couple T3's for Friday and Saturday. Anyways, today is Monday, still some very mild touch ?Pain? but feel much better. Overall, pain free experience in procedure and Aspirin covered the pain post procedure. Best visit I've ever had, especially for a root canal.
