So this would include things like fabric sample books, carpet samples, tile samples and the like from decorators and then rubber stamps, fabric, patterns, yarn, ink, paper, frames, beads, buttons, paint and markers from crafters. Volunteers then organize and price all of this crafty goodness. Hours are limited and it's easy to find only if you know where to look. There's not really a sign -- it's upstairs inside North End Organic Nursery (NEON). There are stairs with sturdy railings, but no elevator. You never know what you're going to find... bottle caps, binder clips, buckles. They've got greeting cards with envelopes for 10 cents. Prices are very reasonable. Head out there today and get crafty! This is a registered non-profit organization, and cash donations are welcome too.

The selection was pretty limited on everything but especially the stickers / planning/ stencil area , and the pricing felt more in line with boutique resale than a thrift shop. For example, a small Happy Planner sticker book was priced at $7.99 something I've gotten at Savers for $5 or less and we all know how astronomical savers pricing is lol . The other sticker and journaling items were $5-$12, which felt a bit steep for secondhand supplies. I totally understand small businesses need to cover costs and make a profit, and I really respect that but I was hoping for more variety and more "thrift-style" pricing. I'd still love to come back and check out other sections of the store, and hopefully they'll consider revisiting some of the pricing in the future to make it a more budget-friendly stop for crafters like me.

Another thing that is annoying is their policy regarding exchanges. I purchased an item on a sale day but bought the wrong color. I went back a few days later to exchange it for the right color but was told that since the sale was over, I would have to pay full price for the right one. What!? I understand the sale was over but I wasn't trying to get additional items at the sale price, I just wanted an even exchange. There's absolutely no loss on their side whatsoever. With my boxes in hand, I began to venture toward the cash register. But, wait! Are those local tees from Banana Ink? Yes. Yes, they are. They have a nice selection of locally printed tees. Banana Ink works with local artists and designers to create a line of Idaho inspired tees, hoodies, hats, and other wearables. And, while, you could make the trip to downtown Boise to their shop to pick something up--it's nice to know that their stuff can be found in Meridian as well! I was able to find an awesome tee for a Christmas gift. I also noticed that they carry a range of beard products from local barber shop, The Beardsmith. A little unlikely, perhaps, but pretty awesome to see this local business so supportive of other local businesses (really amazing ones to boot!). Located on 6th street, this shop is your one stop shop for all things Idaho, handmade and incredibly special. You can find blown glass, textiles, soaps, lotions, chocolate, peanuts, ornaments, shave oils, cutting boards, games, mugs, vases, ornaments and so much more. Most of my favorite makers were there (think Ladybug Press, Sawtooth Glass Project, City Peanut Shop, All Spun Up, Sage Woolens, etc.) It felt like a holiday craft bazaar that is open year round and housing the very best products. I found the selection to be varied and affordable. You could find things for men, women, children, pets and even yourself! It bears repeating that you are paying for handcrafted, small-business wares. It is not going to have the same price tag as a manufactured good from a big box store. It will be a higher price tag. It ended up saving me $30 :) The store itself is located in a run down strip mall but inside it was clean and the staff was very friendly. They have tons of teacher supplies here as well as some nice books on a back wall. Overall it was a good place to go for Christmas shopping and I'll keep it in mind for kids upcoming birthday presents.

No one offered to help me find anything, or asked if I was looking for anything for a specific project (which I was), it just wasn't really a warm environment for me.
