This place is just great. They don't have a showroom like you typically find at jewelry stores where you are blinded by all of the shiny things in the cases. They have a huge inventory of rings to choose from and not enough room to display it all so that is the reasoning behind their method. Just look at all of the 'not recommended' reviews for this place and see how people like it. I went there to pick out an engagement ring. The sales people each have their own little offices where you can sit quietly and look through boxes and boxes of settings. I don't like other stores where there are only 2 sales people but more customers. You get one on one with Nebraska Diamond. You give them a price range and what you are looking for and then they bring boxes to look through and let you pull out ones you like and set aside. If you are wanting to think things over, they save all of your info in their database and the rings you wanted to save. I did not feel pressured at all to buy something right away or something out of the price range I was looking for. It is probably best to call and make an appointment but they do take walk-ins. My first time there I walked in but that was a Tuesday afternoon. The weekends are really busy. For the budget minded person, the settings in the boxes are for sale for $50. :) Also, we did look at similar settings at a couple other jewelers and they were $300 more. They do validate parking so make sure you park in the parking garage on the west side of the block and bring your ticket. read more

I went to Nebraska Diamond in June and was immediately met with cordiality. Natalie was the sales rep that helped me pick out the right ring for my future wife. It was going to be a surprise, but I knew certain things my girl wanted (i.e. ring type, diamond type, etc.). The process is FUN and THOROUGH. You don't just walk into a showroom like every other place, feel clueless, and pick one out the store manager thinks looks "good." The biggest factor that made me feel great about Nebraska Diamond was the fact they encouraged me to shop around. They encouraged me to go try other diamond stores, and they guaranteed their customer service wouldn't be matched. And they were right. Natalie and I had 4-5 meetings before we finally decided on the perfect ring within my budget. Each of these meetings were planned out in an organized manner. One meeting you narrow down about 100 bands to 20. Then down to 5. Then you pick the perfect one. Next, within your budget, Natalie contacted every vendor that sends diamonds to find the one you like best. It isn't just a glass case. Nebraska Diamond went the extra mile and took the time to find what I wanted. If you want to look at diamonds or rings outside your budget, they're happy to order them in just so you can look at them and possibly change your mind. We had a fantastic time shopping for both the engagement ring and wedding bands at Nebraska Diamond. After searching all over the east coast for the setting I was interested in, we finally found that Nebraska Diamond had it! My fiance lived in Omaha at the time so we decided to make the trip to Lincoln during one of my visits. I was so excited to see the setting in person. The experience at Nebraska diamond is fantastic. I get distracted very easily so shopping in a smaller format (one box at a time) worked a lot better for me than seeing hundreds of rings in a clear display. Alan was very patient as I looked at other options to make sure that "the one" really was the best choice. I also never felt pressured at any point during my appointment. Fast forward a few years and now we're looking for wedding bands! After feeling very overwhelmed in NYC, we decided to take a trip back to Nebraska to look at wedding bands with Alan. He was sooo helpful in helping us decide on our band selections. I tried on the same band 15 different times and he was really supportive on deciding what looked great with my engagement ring. My fiance has never worn jewelry so he was nervous about making his selection. Alan was sure to show him every kind of option and helped us decide what would feel best for him. I would highly recommend Nebraska Diamond to anyone and everyone. Specifically for engagement or wedding rings. My fiancé and I went there expecting the same generic rings I'd seen and dismissed at the mall jewelry stores. Their selection and customer service was far superior to what I'd even hoped for. I looked at just shy of 1000 different ring styles before falling in love with one. Yes ladies, 1,000. Not a typo. And that wasn't even close to all of their selection either. When they say best selection in the area they are not kidding! The shopping environment is totally different that any other store, as seen in previous reviews but for me it was perfect. Since you're one on one with a salesperson in an office they're able to bring you hundreds, or thousands of different rings to look at and try on. (I hated poking at rings through glass at other stores only to find out the ring I thought I liked was a dud.) The best thing at Nebraska diamond was that you can pick out your favorite rings, set them to the side and keep looking. And while you're debating between those more rings are being brought to you based on your likes or dislikes from the previous group! Long story short, go there. It's totally worth it. The selection is unmatched!!! Oh, and looking at 1000 rings only took about an hour! Great customer service. FYI my husband also go his ring there so it's not just for the ladies! We shopped all over Lincoln and Omaha and couldn't have hoped to find a better place to find an engagement ring than Nebraska Diamond. The experience was enjoyable, personal, and relaxed. Be sure to call ahead and schedule an appointment with somebody (I'm not sure how they handle walk-ins, because all of our experiences were appointment-based); we worked with Natalie. Natalie knew her stuff, respected our budget, and got to know her customers. This was not a showroom experience, but was better in every way. Rings from your price range are brought in box by box by box. We were able to look at hundreds of unique rings one at a time and side by side, as opposed to looking at 50 or so rings in glass boxes at a jewelry store. The offices even come equipped with different types of lighting (natural, office, & showroom), in order to see the sparkle of the ring in each environment where you'll actually wear it (compare this to the lighting used in most jewelry stores which is chosen specifically to make diamonds sparkle and hide impurities). Never once did the one-on-one experience feel pressured or uncomfortable. I whole-heartedly recommend Nebraska Diamond to everyone who asks. Ask for Natalie. read more

I enjoyed my experience here! We were educated about diamonds and how they are graded prior to even looking at rings. I came in seeking two styles but had seen a ring online that was not 'popular' so most stores did not carry it. I was shocked to try it here! The styles I came in thinking I liked never made it to the maybe box. My fiancée had a great experience picking the diamond. He was able to stay in budget and only looked at stones in his budget. We were thrilled with our selection and the service we got at Nebraska Diamond. And being Kstate fans, it was an added bonus to find out our rep was a KSU alum! 5 years after we got married, the engravings on my ring started to fade. Even though we had moved to Tampa, FL they were very understanding and said they would make it right. They made me a whole new ring from scratch and shipped it to our new address in Tampa. I ordered an engagement ring and a wedding band, and my fiancee ordered a wedding ring for me. With FOUR DAYS to go before the wedding, and after over 4 months of planning and working with our sales agent, she calls to tell me the wedding band will NOT be ready! Hmmm...oh well, what are you gonna do, right? Ha ha ha ha. NOT! My family and fiancee are devastated. Who knew that you needed over 4 months to make a wedding band? This place is AMAZING. I have never seen so many rings and they are all customizable to hold the diamond you pick. Our sales person Natalie was incredibly knowledgeable and didn't mind that I took my time trying everything on. We eventually narrowed the rings down to my favorite and then on to diamonds. HOLY COW - so many choices. I was able to get a way BIGGER and NICER diamond than anywhere else. I can't wait till he proposes and I get that GIANT rock on my finger!!!! Originally made the mistake of going to a chain store (Kay) where I bought a diamond for more than I should have. It was too small and I paid too much for it. I took it back and decided to check out NE Diamond. I bought a much larger and higher quality diamond for the same price as the Kay one.
