Every time I go, the place is packed with life, music, and good energy. Depending on the day, you might even catch a live performance! Other than that, 5 stars from me!

We had driven past here a few times and it's on our list, so if you haven't been make sure you do! The food was served hot and fresh, nice and quick as well! The Pina colada was fantastic and all I want to do is sit and have another drink out in the sun! Our server was fantastic as well. They helped us figure out what we would want to try and everything was soooooo good!

Lupa invited me to sit and eat dinner with her and chat. She has been to dinner at El Dorado before, and she talked about the soup. She got. Beef and veggie soup, and I got Seven Seas seafood soup. The soup comes with tortillas and a dish of soup toppings including onions, jalapeños, limes and cilantro. These toppings remind me of pho or Vietnamese style soups. . The beef soup is made with beef short ribs, vegetables, and a red spicy broth. The seafood soup is a big bowl and provided 2 full meals. The seafood soup included fish, squid, octopus, scallops, shrimp, crab, abalone or conch and veggies. The broth is a little spicy. The tortillas are served warm, and are delightful. . So, I am working my way up S 24th from Q to Cuming, and this is my 3rd restaurant. I want to say S 24th St is one of the most delicious street in Omaha. So far, I am right.

I had the Guatemalan enchilada which was refreshingly different. A lovely fried corn tortilla on the bottom, topped with a lettuce, leaf, fresh cabbage and just a hint of red beets. A little beef, and sprinkled with cotija cheese. A little green hot salsa came on the side, which spiced it up and tasted delicious. If you enjoy cabbage, this was a nice mixup. For dessert we had the fried plantains in a sweet syrup. Just what I was hoping for. Great job Guatemala!! (and hats off to our knowledgeable, and sweet Hondorian server).

Pretty amazing to see Chilaquiles offered in Omaha, alongside pancakes. Will absolutely try.

This last visit they had the entire restaurant decorated for Valentine's Day coming up. But, besides the additional decorations the overall vibe is what you would expect for a Mexican restaurant but more. The service has been friendly and fast! The original Margarita is very good and for the price its about 3 servings. The complementary chips & salsa is great and more of a forgotten service nowadays, but great to see that Alegre is still doing it. The homemade tortilla chips are so good so be careful to not fill up on these before the main entrees. Kendra got the Chile Verde which was massive and was enough food for leftovers the next day. And, I had the Ceviche Sampler which is new and definitely worth every penny! It's hard to find restaurants that have ceviche on the menu, but this has been one of my favorites if you love seafood and a repeater for me! If your looking for more of an upscale $$ Mexican restaurant with great food, service and ambiance it's hard to beat El Muchacho Alegre.

I've had this restaurant recommended by multiple people and I can say it lives up to the hype. I loved the decor and music playing, the atmosphere was casual and fun. We were sat in a little booth but there are high and low tables and a bar area inside and a patio outside. The patio is shaded, which will be nice in the summer. We had chips and salsa brought to the table, and they were the typical restaurant chips and salsa, nothing special but tasty. I ordered the birria tacos and was so glad I did! They were cheesy, greasy, full of meat, and the consommé was rich and flavorful. The rice was really flavorful and the beans were typical. My husband ordered a cantarito and I thought it sounded good so I ordered one too. They were much bigger than we've had before. They were kind of warm, cherries were added, and it was heavy on the orange juice. I wouldn't order one again, but I would definitely order a margarita. They all sounded so good, and I'd love to try the candy shots! They only came as a set of 4, I wish we could get them individually. Overall, a great experience and looking forward to going back to try more.

For our main entrees we chose bistec asado (grilled steak), chicken flautas, and green chicken enchiladas. The steak was so flavorful and tender, the enchiladas had a good taste to it, and the flautas were huge and full of meat. All of these platters included rice and beans, full of flavor.
