    Best customer service I have seen at a bank!! Very personable and kid friendly. Free checking, unlike other banks in Milford.

I got a car loan from them and after making a few of my regular monthly payments I noticed the price increased significantly. So of course I decided to look into it. Turned out they decided to add $8,000 to my original loan. When I asked them why they did that they said it was because I didn't have car insurance. I absolutely did have car insurance and if there was a problem they could have called me or sent me a letter or contacted me in any way. But they just decided to add $8,000 and thought that I would just pay it because I'm a complete moron. I would rather borrow money from the Bonanno Mafia crime family. Take my advice and do not use this 'Bank' if you could call it that

    We locked in a mortgage interest rate of 3.25% with .125% credit, for 60 days with Citizens Bank…read more However, when we received the closing disclosures for the mortgage, the interest rate was listed as 3.5%. When I inquired about this discrepancy, my loan officer, Maria Esposito, told me that there were utilization ratio issues (due to the fact that we were closing on our purchase before our sale, despite the fact that this had always been the plan), but that she had taken the needed steps to get the rate I had originally been quoted and had submitted all necessary documentation for approval of the originally quoted rate. My loan officer later confirmed via phone that this had been approved. We received the final closing disclosures the evening before our closing (which had already been delayed by Citizens), but the interest rate had not changed. I emailed my loan officer multiple times but received no response until I reached her by phone the next morning. She told me she was working on getting the rate adjusted as promised. However, a mere two hours before the scheduled closing, she informed me that she would NOT be able to give us the rate that had been locked in. She suggested postponing the closing on our purchase until after the closing on our sale (which was scheduled for less than one business day later). Because it was only two hours before the closing and we'd had issues even getting the seller to the closing table, my lawyer strongly advised against postponing the closing. Doing so would have put us in breach of contract, and we had no viable options for postponement or alternate loans at this late date. Citizens' bait and switch tactics left us with no choice but to close with a increase in the mortgage interest rate that amounts to about $30,000 over the lifetime of the loan. My loan officer loan officer told me that the best she could do was to refund the closing costs ($844, barely anything in comparison), which she requested to be expedited. I complained up the chain and it took months to even get those closing costs back, but Citizens basically told us we were SOL otherwise because we made the mistake of trusting what their loan officer told us over the phone and we had no written proof. This is clearly a company that couldn't care less about it's customers and I wouldn't even recommend them to my worst enemy.

The…read moreloan officer, Gerard McDonnell was so unprofessional, unresponsive and gave me incorrect information every step of the way. I I decided to pull the mortgage application after he totally screwed things up - it cost me $650 (appraisal feel that I had already paid) and 3 weeks delay in getting a mortgage with a new company. I also complained all of the way up their consumer resolution center and got nowhere with their Boys Club - who covered for each other and lied. I spent so much time emailing the supporting documents, trying to get the $650 refunded but Gerard McConell and his supervisor, Thomas Knee both claimed untruthful situation for which they had no proof. Then, to top if all off, they "denied" the mortgage application instead of what I had been told would just be an expiration of the application. This has now negatively impacted my credit score but once again, the Boys Club prevails and I Lose. Stay away from these people at Citizens Bank and find another place to get your mortgage. What a shame and Shame on them!

Their mortgage practices feel predatory, and the most…read morefrustrating part is that homeowners have no control over who ends up servicing their loan unless they refinance. I recently tried--for the second time--to remove my PMI. Two months ago, my home appraised significantly higher, yet PNC's new appraisal came back $60,000 lower with zero adjustments, even though the comparable properties were clearly different. After I challenged the report, they suddenly approved it, which raises even more concerns. From there, things only got worse. PNC completed another escrow analysis, but instead of removing PMI entirely, they reduced only about half. Their comparison statement is confusing and misleading--one column shows annual insurance, taxes, and PMI, while the other shows monthly principal, interest, and escrow. It's literally comparing apples to oranges, and it seems designed to make customers feel powerless. On top of that, when they returned the appraisal, the report was printed on a quarter of an 8x11 page--making it nearly impossible to review the comps for four properties in spreadsheet format. It's unprofessional and feels intentionally obstructive. If you bank with PNC, please reconsider. In my experience, if this is how they handle mortgage servicing, there may be other areas where customers are being taken advantage of. That's my opinion of the organization overall but I will base this review on this particular branch. I visited today with my daughter because she's been sailing coins for months & it was finally time to make that big deposit. Now I've been down this road before, usually when you want to deposit a large amount of coins the banks will tell you they have to be all rolled up first then send you home to start the tedious task but not today. I was pleasantly surprised when the teller gave us wrappers, sorting machines & a little coin holder that allows you to slide the rolls into the paper very easily. Then.... get this.... she points us to a lounge in the back with tables, chairs, a TV, tea & coffee where we can sit and get down to business!!! How about that!?!? Every time I interact with Navy Federal they surprise me in a great way every time! The staff was so pleasant and friendly. Another teller even came over during our rolling time & complemented my daughter on her saving habits! It really made her feel good.
