Then we sat out in front of the hospital for another 50 minutes with no communication from transport. I called the office and was told he be five minutes. After 20 minutes I called the office again with no answer. The van finally showed up, though the driver did not make any attempt to greet us or explain how the transport worked. The van exterior was incredibly dirty, especially the windshield. The driver proceeded to load my mother into the van as if she were not a person, just cargo. Had she not already been so Exhausted, I would've tried to get another transport. I am letting the hospital know that this is not a company they should be working with.

Same for medication currently taking. Don't rely on MyChart. Or make sure you know what the clinic and PCP or specialist completed last as the UW Hospital system differs. They can counsel you on the environments you plan to enter and their regulations. And, they can schedule you for a COVID test but only within Wisconsin borders. You know international travel dictates the PCR test not those rapid tests. Plus, within X hours. It can be jarring as the hospital is active and jumping, honeybun. Yet, I feel most secure with everything right there versus Costco now offering Yellowfever per the CDC website. Why? If there are reactions take me right on to the ER. However, if time and convenience is your beast then go for what you know. Tuesday morning for all shots OTHER THAN Yellowfever. Tuesday AFTERNOONS Yellowfever + whatever else you want. Proactively reach out to your insurance provider to understand costs because they only guestimate. Rabies can run $4k for 3 shots. In what world, y'all?!? Be safe in your travels!

My child needed an ambulance ride, and while I initially questioned whether it was necessary, hospital staff made me feel like I had no choice. The ride lasted five minutes, yet I was billed $2,200--and because they're out of network, my insurance only covered $500, leaving me with a $1,700 bill. When I called to ask about financial assistance or a reasonable payment plan, I was told I have 12 months to pay or they'll send me to collections--no flexibility, no assistance programs, nothing. For a service that exists to help people in emergencies, they seem far more focused on billing than on actually serving the community. Medical emergencies are already stressful enough. It's unacceptable that Ryan Brothers Ambulance operates with such little regard for the financial strain they place on families. If you ever need an ambulance, I strongly recommend asking about your options before getting stuck with an outrageous bill and zero support.
