Well that's how I feel about this place - I mean 'Liquor Master' is pretty awesome and silly at the same time, right? If I were still a kid (long before Caller ID and *69) - I would've totally been pranking this place on a daily basis to ask to speak to "The Liquor Master". But alas my phone pranks days are long behind me and now I'm a lush and after passing this place countless times I figured it was time to spend some money and see what they're all about. Decent selection, like a more 'classy' version of a NYC bodega (without the salad bar). I can't even get mad at the owner who gave me suspicious looks... I probably confused him buying a 40oz. of Old English along with some overpriced Belgium beers. That's not a mix many people ever see!

They do have craft beer and wine as well though the selection is not super extensive. The owner is a a super duper nice guy. He really does his best to make you feel welcome. They also have a nice cigar selection as well. Plus this spot is open til eleven on Friday and Saturday. It's a good spot to go to after ten when other stores are normally closed. Much better than the late night price gouging stores nearby. Sunday they are open til ten when other places close early. So if you don't want to get charged an arm and a leg for and medicore selection, consider coming here! Good prices, good hours, and good service make this one of my favorite liquor stores in town.

The staff are knowledgeable, helpful, and will strike up conversations with you. They are just genuinely friendly and happy to impart their knowledge. Finally, their selection of warm and cold craft beer is phenomenal. They have many local beers you won't find anywhere else, and they stick new releases quickly. Some obscure beers that are difficult to find can also be found here. Prices are slightly higher than other locations, but I'm fine with this given the selection and courteous staff. Recommended!

Well on my most recent visit I see they gave themselves a tummy-tuck and it's sleeker and definitely bikini-season ready. Now that it's smaller and more narrow it just feels like a better-stocked and managed liquor store. Solid beer and wine selection. Pricing is fine. Workers run the gamut from "can't be bothered" to okay to cool. Nothing worth going out of my way for but if I'm truckin' down Rt. 17 and in need of some hooch - it's worth the pit stop.

You could go some place within 3-5 minute drive away and save $5-10 per liquor bottle.

I was using my husbands card (which I never do) because N.J. is in a state of emergency. I was buying two to three bags of ice and I grabbed a bottle of jack because I had to go into the ice anyway. I invited her to write down my license plate of my Mercedes Benz. I did not have my Id and remember it's not because sim getting carded (I'm a 39 year old woman) you have to show ID whenever using a credit card. Ownership should of made an exception. Again- I own a business on their street. I offered for them to write down my license plate AND take a picture of my registration. You don't deserve my business. And good luck making money when you conduct yourself in this manner. I was buying bags of ice for my family. Not a keg of beer.

More importantly, the guy running the store was super rude. He didn't want to get off his phone to ring anyone up. He got short with someone who simply asked if he had a specific beer, saying that he was closing the store an hour early and wanted to get out, all while another customer was waiting at the counter for an extended duration. So glad I had enough bourbon with me in my hotel room that I didn't need to spend more than 2.5X the retail cost for a halfway decent bottle. Gives me enough time to go to another store that isn't going to try to price gouge.

Then if you're like me - when you get to the intersection and see the 7/11 next to said 'depot' is twice the size and now you're tempted to get on the phone with your lawyer to pursue a court case for fraud and intentionally misleading the public. (I kid! I kid!) But I still ventured inside and you know what? It's clean, well-stocked, a really friendly gentleman behind the counter and the 'Depot' is completely... adequate. Nothing worth coming out of your way for with their beer selection or pricing. I did happen upon a vodka that was made in Kazakhstan (for your one friend that's still quoting Borat some 15 years later) otherwise their wine and hard liquor selection was decent. One interesting item: they have a 'bar' by the counter. I'm not sure if that's how it operated "BC" (Before COVID-19) or not but you rarely see that kind of set-up in North Jersey but much more common around shore towns. It's just minutes from the almighty Clemente Bakery so I'm sure I'd be back for the ease of getting good eats with some alcohol in one fell swoop.
