Kristen (sorry if I spelled it wrong) helped me. She was very friendly, easy going and helpful. It was a very quick process to exchange my shoes, no hassle at all. I was very excited with my first pair of Hoka and was looking forward to comfortable walking. Unfortunately I finally wore them last weekend on a trip that had lots of walking. After the second day, I couldn't walk in them anymore. My feet are too wide and I had such pain in the area where my feet were hanging over the soles. I wasn't sure of the return policy about worn shoes but went back to ask about exchanging once again. I happened to run into Kristen again and asked her if she remembered helping me last time. She initially didn't until I told her the Mother's Day gift and the color. She instantly recalled our encounter. After explaining to her about the shoes and asked if I could exchange them, she said "yes!" I was so relieved! She then proceeded with looking for the same shoes in wider fit for me. She had to pull out 3 pairs. After trying them on, I felt the pain in the same area again. I decided that Hoka and I were not meant to be. Since my husband bought me Hoka and Hoka seems to be all the hype lately, I really wanted to give it chance. I've been married to New Balance for years. My feet are wide and they have wide shoes that make my feet happy. I happened to be wearing a pair of New Balance today. Kristen took notice to what I wore and to what I said. She brought out a pair of New Balance that she said is comparable to Hoka. They felt really good. I was sold. However, she didn't stop there. She brought out another pair for me to compare. After trying about 3 Hoka and 2 NB, I finally exchanged the Hoka for NB one that she recommended. If you are looking for a local shoe store that carries reputable running shoes with excellent customer service then you need to come here. Thank you Kristen for helping me!!! You are awesome.

This little shop in the Jackson Brewery section of downtown New Orleans carries a small variety of…read moresports memorabilia both professional and amateur. A majority of the items are geared around College Football and much of their inventory is understandably centered around Big 12 and SEC teams. I was able to find an Univ of Oregon mini toy helmet on the front counter and even a USC cap on the wall. For the most part, an endless supply of LSU Gear in the form of shirts, sweaters, and accessories can be found in all corners of the store. This is a fairly touristy area after all, so the prices aren't cheap. A quick glance of the mini key chain helmets were $8.99 and the sweaters can be in the $30-40 range. Though there isn't much in this mini-mall, there are better stores in NOLA for the devoted sports fan.

After five minutes of dealing with the rude cashier, I just walked off without the purchase. I used the same cards at other stores without incident. I called Academy and explained to them the situation that had occurred. I even stated the cashier could have possibly voided the transaction and reran it or sent me to another register. The employee I spoke to had no concern for anything I said, doubtful he even heard what I said. I called because I want to be able to shop at Academy without my time being wasted. Obviously it won't be in this store.

I've been shopping here for 5 years so it's time for an update. When I first started shopping here,…read morethe shop had a very Mom and Pop feel with a sort of NYC vibe, think shrink wrap on shoes to keep them from getting dirty from customers handling. About 2 years ago or so they did an upgrade to the shop with clothing taking a more prominant position in the center of the store and sneaker releases making a wall around. Outside of the specialty releases (Nike SB) they pretty much get anything worth getting. If you're into sneakers and would rather deal with a locally owned shop instead of giving your money to the big chain down the street, visit and support them. While the selection tends to stick to what they know is going to sell, they do make risky orders for those of you willing to take a step outside of the normal. The staff is friendly and helpful as always and very willing to help you find what you're looking for.

This shop was recommended to me by a coworker. I was complaining about my old shoes and she said that this store will take time to get you into a pair of shoes that feels right for you... I was so delighted. What my coworker did not mention is that healthcare workers get a 10% discount! Which is great when I need to spend money on shoes anyway! She did not tell me about the scan. There is a foot scan that showed/told me about my feet. Uhhmmmm, my left foot is smaller than, my right---I have limited instep and I have pronation. Yea, AND, they can order shoes in different colored! Did I mention that you get a FREE t-shirt when you buy a pair of shoes! I will definitely be back (especially since they ordered me another pair of these---they said it would be in in about a week and that they would call me. Yay! I have a number of miles on them and am very satisfied. They even gave me a free shirt to go with my new shoes. Knowing what I know now, I could buy my next pair of shoes online but I will buy from Varsity again to support the great service I have gotten.
