I wanted to sell some gold jewelry. I went to a local jeweler first. The owner checked and weighed…read moremy items at around 98 grams, then offered what he claimed was 72% of gold spot price. I thought his price a little low. I spoke with a chain pawn shop, but he only pays 1/2 spot price. Next I went to Coquille Coins. Gerald checked out my items and weighed them at 106.13 grams and offered 75% of spot. Big difference. He also purchased some coins and sterling silver, even though the refineries aren't buying right now. Gerald informed me that smelters charge a percentage to refine the shops gold. Stores have overhead (rent, lights, insurances etc.) He has to be licensed (fees). Something most people don't know, buyers have to hold all items they buy for 30 days, in case items are stolen. I understand why gold buyers need to make roughly 25% profit. He is taking a chance that gold prices crash (like crypto is today) before he can sell the gold he bought from me. Thank you Gerald for being honest and fair. I wish you much success in the future!

It can tell time, but the dates do not change from day-to-day, even though they claimed to have fixed that which was not even broken before I gave it to them. I just wanted a new battery and the gasket fixed, so that it wouldn't fog up from the humidity and stop working. This employee lied to my face about how it got broken and how he fixed it; and he used a second, outside source to fix it anyway. This one person in particular will lie to you straight to your face without a second thought. The only thing that gives him away, is the fact that he cannot look you in the eye for very long. I do not recommend the store for any kind of jewelry repair.

Boudreaux's Jewelers is a great, local jeweler…read more I recently purchased a new watch and needed the band adjusted. The watch came with an extra link, but I needed an expert to attach it. I decided to stop by Boudreaux's on the recommendation of a family member, and was very pleased with their service. Despite not being an authorized seller for the watch brand I owned, their expert was able to install the band in under five minutes. Problem was that the watch still didn't fit. This caused me great frustration, but the jeweler had an easy suggestion. He whipped out his catalog and ordered one additional link. I figured it would be a week or so for it to arrive, but in a couple of days, they called and told me it was in. Now for the interesting part of the review. When I told my mom that I needed to stop at Boudreaux's for my watch link, she remembered a piece of jewelry that she had dropped off to repair. Problem was that she had dropped it off nearly two years before and forgot to pick it up. I was sure that Boudreaux's would have melted it down or sold it, but surprisingly they had it in a box somewhere. They told us that they actually never get rid of stuff customers forget, they just box it up. That kind of service is amazing in this day and age. More amazing is that since I was buying a watch link, they didn't even charge her for her repair. If you need jewelry or repair services, I strongly encourage you to check out Boudreaux's.
