I wanted to sell some gold jewelry. I went to a local jeweler first. The owner checked and weighed…read moremy items at around 98 grams, then offered what he claimed was 72% of gold spot price. I thought his price a little low. I spoke with a chain pawn shop, but he only pays 1/2 spot price. Next I went to Coquille Coins. Gerald checked out my items and weighed them at 106.13 grams and offered 75% of spot. Big difference. He also purchased some coins and sterling silver, even though the refineries aren't buying right now. Gerald informed me that smelters charge a percentage to refine the shops gold. Stores have overhead (rent, lights, insurances etc.) He has to be licensed (fees). Something most people don't know, buyers have to hold all items they buy for 30 days, in case items are stolen. I understand why gold buyers need to make roughly 25% profit. He is taking a chance that gold prices crash (like crypto is today) before he can sell the gold he bought from me. Thank you Gerald for being honest and fair. I wish you much success in the future!

I brought my Baume and Mercier watch to be repaired by Deep South Gold and they wanted to charge me…read more$142 (the employee did give me some money off because I had to drive there from Mississippi three times because the watch wasn't fixed right initially) after taking one month to even decide if they could fix it, and then they returned it to me half fixed. It can tell time, but the dates do not change from day-to-day, even though they claimed to have fixed that which was not even broken before I gave it to them. I just wanted a new battery and the gasket fixed, so that it wouldn't fog up from the humidity and stop working. This employee lied to my face about how it got broken and how he fixed it; and he used a second, outside source to fix it anyway. This one person in particular will lie to you straight to your face without a second thought. The only thing that gives him away, is the fact that he cannot look you in the eye for very long. I do not recommend the store for any kind of jewelry repair.

The owner Mike took over the reins of the business from his parents when they retired last year and he has taken the business to the next level. Whether it is buying jewelry or getting your jewelry repaired/ resized etc, buying silver or gold, Mike is your go-to guy. Mike went out of his way to find me a Mahi-Mahi ring in silver.

Very professional and a pleasant environment to do business in. I would definitely go back. Aldo handled our transaction in a very pleasant, personal, and professional manner; from other commercials/ads, I felt as if I would be dealing with a 'used car salesman' rather than a gold professional. We had a bracelet (costume jewelry) and he couldn't get a reading on the gold content, only that it had gold in it. They did a chemical test on it to see, and confirmed the gold content was only worth $2-$3. Kept it for the granddaughter. The location is very easy to get to; the only other place we considered was downtown and figured that even if they did give us more dollars for the jewelry, we wouldn't come out ahead after paying for parking or an Uber. Thanks for helping us out.

I told him that I'll be 20 plus minutes. "no problem" he says. So he unlocks the door for me, let's me in, offers me a glass of gentlemans jack on the rocks, and proceeded to show me some earrings for my wife. Very very nice guy and an ever better salesman. I left the store with a new outlook on owner operator businesses. I now feel inclined to do business with this store. They also sell men's and women's rolexes, chains, bracelets, and everything in between. Definitely a place to check out.
