They are the only reason why this place is not retaining the 5 STARS I previously gave them. When I'm pumping gas, all I want to do is lean against my car, slowly die inside as I watch my grad school savings drain before my eyes, and compromise with myself that it's okay to NOT eat for the rest of the week. But instead, you have these guys who always happen to pop up out of nowhere as my mood starts to sour, put their fingerprints all over my windshield, and insist that I have a crack - which I don't - and tell me to contact my Insurance company so I can get it fixed. It REALLY doesn't help that the card readers are slow because whenever I'm there I pray that they move faster so I can make a quick escape out of there before one of those guys can spot me. I do have to give credit to one random Windshield fixer guy who saw me at the Air Station. He took one look at my car and saw that my windshield was fine - which it is - and instead asked if he could put the air in my tires for me. So...not all of them are complete day ruiners. Other than that, I still stand by everything I said in my last review of Autoport. Even though they've hired some new people, they're still really friendly.

I didn't use Chevron before because their gas prices where a little on the high side but recently I noticed that the prices at this particular gas station are now the same as the Shell & Valero around the corner. Shell is good gas but I am not sure about the quality of Valero. Chevron with Techron is an excellent top tier fuel that burns really clean & helps keep harmful deposits from forming in your engine & keeps fuel injectors clean, increasing gas mileage & saving you money. My Toyota Corolla really likes this fuel so now I am going here on a regular basis. This station seems to attract quite a few commercial vehicles & it can get really busy here. Sometimes getting in & out can be a hassle. There is a convenience store located here & they will have your typical gas station fare like water, soda, candy or beef jerky, basically all the things you need to hit the road with. I also like the fact that they have a restroom inside. It was nice & clean when I used it & I didn't have to go outside or get a token or a key from a clerk which was a plus. This Chevron is located down in the hood right across from the base but I have never encountered any problems & plus Pete's Cocktails is right around the corner if you are looking to have a cold one in a shady dive bar after getting some gas. Good quality gas at the right price makes this Chevron a no brainer for me. Recommended if you don't mind being in the hood.

There are not as many available fuel pumps compared to the station by the 32nd St oil change shop and this spot also lacks a mini-mart convenience store like the newer Autoport station by Mariner's Park. Not sure if there's a helper gnome that suddenly appears if you need helper assistance or a receipt copy. Even though services are limited, it's a good to have another available self-serve fuel option with competitive prices when running civilian errands on base.

This visit was a little longer than expected because there were so many larger cars that could not maneuver in the smaller pump driving spaces. We had to wait extra time for them to get out of their spots. The staff here never intervene when people get into disputes over pumps. They sort of just stay put and never help with the arguments over spaces or pumps. That's the only drawback at this location. Also, the Tire Dept air pumps are always broken with the stem of the air tube damaged. Please get these fixed.
