Arco has some of the best convenience store deals I've seen small coffee for $1 and BodyArmor for $1, you really can't beat that, and they've got even more solid offers if you use their app. Inside is great and the service was good, but the air machine outside is completely busted the compressor valve is taped up, there's no working regulator, and no way to control or see proper tire pressure, which is a real safety concern if you don't know what you're doing. There wasn't even water available on the machine either. That part definitely needs fixing. Overall great deals inside, but the broken equipment outside is why I'm giving 3 stars. #ArcoDeals #GasStationFinds #CheapDrinks #ConvenienceStore #CarCare #Review @ampm read more

In the many cities you will find conveniences stores and the 711s people travel and those have the warm cup of coffee and those that love the warm breakfast sandwiches you can pick up the extra sandwiches for lunch and the sodas to go with lunch. Am PMs have been the ones that have been around the many cities from the Las Vegas and the areas of Los Angeles you can find the one place that is always there the late-night snacks of to pick up the gallon of milk with one location that is open at night at the great food which is always there? With the many places you find can be closed at certain times and many others are the 711s the many Slurpee's yes the flavors many have tasted in their lives from the cola Slurpee's when you have an AM PM you have the great snacks you can find from the M&Ms and the candy bars. The many times I had gone to the location has been the good morning sandwiches of bacon and sausage with hot coffee and the extra things that I purchased for latter in the day when you reach for the bag of chips. When you travel on the road you may get sick and need to get aspirin and things for your stomach there are many places you find high prices with AM PM Arco you also have the most important where you can get gas fill ups to keep your car running. ARCO AM PM has the best employees that are there and the most helpful they can be busy at the 8th street location they have many cars with the many that come from all over the ci9ty of National City and the areas of Chula Vista. Many times, I have come to the store you find and see the many employees you can see them getting things ready the many deliveries which came from the many companies from the drink companies and the Ice Cream companies they can bring so many deliveries. The customer service I saw there was the greatest the employee had helped me get the purchases ready and made sure they were still hot and had cold drinks. For those that are driving when the morning comes, I see the many drivers and the so many pay high prices having to wait in line as the prices there are so many ways of checking prices is to look at the many locations you may find those high and some maybe low prices. When you come to the many AMPMs you have the trust when you purchase is to look and check the prices. AMPMs Arco store is one of the best when you head towards the 8th street trolley you get the quick snacks, and the cold drinks can be the best to get through the day and to get you home safe if you're driving you can pull in and get the fill up you need with the many stations are now being built for the electric cars. As a Yelp Elite the many Arco AMPMs the one that I had found that I had seen were the many that were in the College District and the one at 8th street of National City the end of 8th street is the one you can see the Naval Base and the tall ships thereof. The lunch times can be the busiest grab what you like they can get you rung up and, on your way, Happy Monday. read more

I had came by to put gas at this location and when trying to clean up my windshield I noticed the stick had sh*t on it. I went to clean myself up. And let them know about it. A couple hours I came by to put gas with my friend without knowing this is where she was coming. And went to check if they had clean it up or took it inside or sum. But nope. They gave 0 f*cks. And left it there. It is extremely unsanitary specially considering what area of town it is. This should be cleaned up every couple hours since there is a lot of people roaming around. This is the most nastiest thing I've experienced at a gas station. The water was also black with a bunch of towels in it. read more

What can I say it's a gas station lol this one is right next to a freeway on ramp and there's Jack in the Box on the same lot which causes there to be quite a few beggars around asking for money. The lot is dirty but again it's a gas station!! Gas prices are always cheaper than other gas stations. The staff aren't the nicest people here but again IT'S A GAS STATION!! read more

This is a great location, right next to FWY 5 on the 8th Street offramp. It is located immediately east of the freeway. So it has location. It also has great gas prices, the best around, with the obvious exception of membership-only Costco. It is a high volume location, no doubt. So it has low prices, too. The gas lines are very fast moving, but occasionally there is a logjam of customers trying to pay for their stuff. And stuff they have, with all sorts of snacks, groceries, sundries, whatevers and whatnots. So, it has location, low prices, and convenience. Um . . . Is there anything else? Nope. I'm a fan. read more

I don't get why people hate on this place, ok I get it..it's filthy..uhm hello? Hi, yeah this is a GAS STATION NEXT TO A FREEWAY. Yeah, it's busy. Yes, it's packed with people....why? BECAUSE THE GAS IS MOTHER DIPPIN CHEAP homeskillet, dang! I'll admit, don't come here if you're in a hurry, reason is a lot, and I truly mean A LOT of locals gas here, and their stock of drinks of course will be out! The cashier service is down right SLOW! and people, how hard is it to make you're transactions easier? or is it fun to be a buttwipe so you can slow down service? grow up, get your damn cancer sticks and let the REST of us be on our way. Come here, if you're in need of CHEAP gas and you're NOT in a RUSH! Is it hard to say "$10 on number 5" or whatever? Oh yeah, and you guy with the loud stereo system and leaving your car unlocked, I hope you get your shiz jacked, because you WILL, and I'll just have my skittles in my hands watch that happen, because you're just dumb, you are SO dumb freal! Hide yo' kids, Hide yo' wife because every body GASES over here. ok rant/over. Thank you (: read more

Gas is always reasonable here. Its an Arco station connected to an AMPM. It is in a convenient location in National City just off the 5. The gas station is big with a bunch of stalls. The AMPM is your typical convenient store. The place is always clean during the daytime. The daytime employees are very good here. They are efficient and always seem to greet me or have a smile on their face. The night staff is ok. They are not as customer oriented. One plus is the hot snacks here. Corn dogs are 2 for 2 bucks. Cant go wrong with corn dogs for a buck. Also the Tacquitos are 2 for 2 dollars also. They also have a pork rib sandwich that is similar to a Mcdonald's Mcribbut only cheaper. The nachos are also good. You can top your nachos with their condiment bar. I dump as much onion and jalepenos on my nachos. Best time to get these snacks are during lunch hours. I notice they are always not fresh at night. One negative is the location can have criminal elements at night. I see some prostitution and drug transactions going on. Other than that its a cool place for reasonable gas prices and cheap food. read more

They do not accept credit cards-I was on my way to the airport and needed to fill up my rental prior to dropping it off. My CC would not go through so I went inside---she said they only accept debit or cash. Really? It's 2015---most people that travel for work have a company credit card. I asked where the closest gas station was-she told me. Thankfully I was not rushing to the airport or this would have hurt me. read more

This gas station needs to have their self-service pay kiosks actually work when you go there. This morning was the second time it didn't want to take my stinkin' $35 bucks at the two machines I tried, so I decided to leave and continue on with my twenty mile drive to work very annoyed. I'm the type of OCD driver that likes to always have a full tank of gas and tops it off when it hits at a half tank (yes I know, OCD). I've been busy this week and neglected to keep up with my practice of doing this, so when my car was at one eighth of a tank this morning, I'm surprised I didn't have palpitations and start foaming at the mouth. If you decide to gas up here because it's usually a good ten cents cheaper, be mentally prepared to pay for the headache from all the dang traffic you'll have to battle with just to get in and out of there and not having the convenience of their self-service pay kiosks working when you go. I just got back from lunch and decided to pay the $0.12 more at the Arco in Del Mar. Frick. Darn you Arco Nasty City....darrrrrn youuuuuu!!! read more

Avoid this gas station like the steak and eggs at a Dennys. Perpetually crowded and constantly busy. Good luck getting out in under half an hour unless you happen to be filling up between the hours of 2 and 4 am on a Sunday. Drivers in National City are ruthless. Dont mess with them but on the same token dont let them stomp all over you. Take the initiative ! If you are next in line, you better get a move on it ! Ive seen people get passed up and the ensuing drama that immediately occurs is not pretty but makes for great entertainment. Theres always a homeless dude trying to wash your windows. I never give him change as I usually charge my card. I offer the guy a bottle of water but he looks at me like Im the one on crack. It sucks that gas prices are going back up again but it was inevitable. I paid almost $2 a gallon for my hooptie. Its still cheaper than a majority of the other gas stations out there. read more

All I wanted was a pepsi. Just one pepsi. My friend and I were out riding bikes and we decided to stop by this gas station for some quick munchies and to fill up our tires with air. (Gas stations next to freeways, by law, give out air and water for free when you ask). I walked in asking for the code and the assistant told me it's out of order. Ok, lame, whatever. So I made my pickings of Cheetos, Soda, a Cheeseburger with an array of toppings and a Jumbo Hot Dog with an array of toppings. I was ready to dig into this disgusting pile of heaping gas station food because I was really hungry. When I was getting ready to pay, the assistant told me that the debit/credit system is down but I could use the ATM. I was not happy. After I went through all this trouble to make my friend and I some good chomping food, after I picked out the best bag of Cheetos, after I got my friggin pepsi, she told me I have to put up with another dollar stealing ATM machine. I left right there. Food and all. In hindsight, I'm sure the food wouldnt have been very healthy anyways. So air and water didn't work. Debit/Credit processing didn't work. read more

Ok. I don't get gas here and I know it can get a sense of ghetto here because of the people and location, BUT let's talk about their coffee setup. I pass by this gas station every morning to hop on the 5, but I've never stopped. Stopped by here tonight while we are headed out of town and needed to stock up on coffee for the drive. They have so many options! The gas station and liquor stores near my work are -1 stars compared to this place. From what I saw, they have four different coffee flavors/boldness. They might have more in the morning because I know this is a busy gas station, especially since it's so close to base. They had 8 different types of syrup. They have a milk frother machine. It basically makes your coffee into a latte!!! Put some syrup in there (I did 1 and a 1/2 pumps of hazelnut), put about 2/3 of the frothed milk from the latte machine, then filled the rest up with whatever coffee I wanted. THEN, they have a whipped cream machine! I love that it's a machine instead of a can sitting in a container to keep in cold because who knows where peoples' fingers have been! The whipped cream did have a different taste, not bad, but not fabulous either. Then, right as I'm about to put my lid on, I spot a ton of spice containers. At least 5 or 6. I didn't see all of them, but I did notice they had chocolate, vanilla, cookies n cream, and cinnamon. The coffee came out so good. Way better than any gas station coffee I've ever had and I can truly say better than Starbucks (but what real coffee drinker actually likes Starbucks?). Have a feeling this will become my new morning spot...if I can get up early enough in the morning. :P P.S. you get all this for the same price as if you were getting a 16 oz cup of black coffee. Less than $2 for the two smaller cups (I think 16 and 20 oz.). I didn't check for the other prices. Sorry! read more

This Arco gas station should be avoided at all costs if you value your sanity! This place is a total toliet and one great big joke! If you want to see Circus Vargas then by all means plan a visit to the "Nasty City" Arco! Anytime you come here expect to see a logjam of cars trying to get to the gas pumps.Once you make the mistake of entering this compound, you will quickly find yourself in gridlock with no chance of escape! The people purchasing gas here are rude, crude, and lack common sense along with basic driving skills.Just pray and hope that they dont hit your car because I seriously doubt most of them have car insurance! If your survive the trip to the gas pump expect to hit up by some bum looking for change. This Arco branch also has a convience store but dont expect things to get any better when inside. Some of the employees Ive encountered are either rude or work very slow.Seems like theres always a issue with the ATM machine being down as well. I guess the only thing this station has going for it are its low prices. In summary this place is the "armpit" of Arco gas stations.Long lines, ghetto ass people and total incompetence are a way of life here. You wont see me at this station anytime soon!!! read more

What a convenience...I thought. This location has a real problem with making sure that the hardware/network/machines work. On a weekly basis, almost daily, the machines will not take cash or cards. I can barely give this place 2 stars. The experience is mostly aggravating. If you plan on using your debit card, know this. Don't expect to get your receipt at the pump. If you want to use the cash machines to pay, they do not work. I thought I was used to this already. Nope. Today, took the cake. Knowing what to expect, I went to pump #3. Used my card. Got approved. Lifted the nozzle, picked grade 87. I started to pump and no pressure. No fuel was coming out of the nozzle. I thought ok, I will try again. Hung up the nozzle and tried again. No fuel. I walked inside. Now, of course it is a busy morning. Long line. I had no time to mess around. I asked " is the pressure for pump 3 working?" Response, "what kind of gas are you getting?" Me: "87" Response "oh there is no 87 on that one." Me: fuming "what? And why isn't there a sign?!!! You need to put a sign!" Am I dissatisfied customer? YES! I am sure that I am not the only person. I told her I better not be charged. The only reason I could give it any stars is it is close to the freeway. Is it convenient? I beg to differ. People only go there as it is close to the freeway and I guess have gotten used to the bad service. I go back and my card is not released. The only way I could get out of there was to try to pump a bit from the grade up. So, I pumped, maybe 50 cents and was charged 35 cents!!! Is there proof I was upset? Most likely now on video with at least 12 witnesses. read more

Gas is always cheaper here and almost all the time busy. If you can wait, it's great!

Do NOT eat anything here. If you have to use the bathroom go to the Jack in the Box instead. I see that this Arco has a score of "A" on Yelp for health. How?! Have you seen the bathrooms?! NO SOAP! And they have the nerve to have a sign that says employees must wash their hands. Their bathroom has 3 locks on it and one that's a slide lock the other two don't work. Not to mention the filth. I was afraid to wipe my own bottom. read more

This place is filthy and plagued by homeless, prostitutes and poor service. The cashiers are always slow, the store is a mess and poorly stocked. Avoid this gas station at all cost!! It's super close to the freeway and always packed. The employees were not very friendly. I had to get gas so stopped in. The pumps were pretty dirty and the payment thing at the pump was broken. I went inside paid for gas came out and the pump didn't work. I went back in and had to ask them to reset it. I went to get gas here knowing it's a busy gas station, I pull into the station behind a suburban suv as he pulls into an open pump, I come up behind him thinking he will pull to the farthest pump up ahead, but nooooooooo, he pulls to the first pump and gets out, WTF!!!!! All the pumps are taken and this MKFA won't pull forward for me! So my crazy ass girl gets out and starts yelling to the lady to pull forward, the lady yells back at my girl and at this point I'm hoping to see a fight lol! Then an old man comes up and asks the suburban lady to be nice and move forward and she starts yelling at him (lol even more) my girl gets back in the car and starts spitting Mexican cuss words at the suburban driver and YELLS at me to go around and back up in front of the suburban for the open pump... I go around, and this foo in a ford truck tries to take that spot!!!! I'm thinking "GRRRRRREAT!!"; my girl gets out and goes up to the driver of the truck, don't know what she said but he pulled back and let us back up in front of the bitch ass suburban lady, I get out to pump and look at the lady and she doesn't even acknowledge me, I finish before her cause i only pumped $10, i got I the car and my girl told me to sit there and wait until the suburban lady finishes.. We watched her pump her gas and finally get into her car... She waited for us to go and we waited for her to back up, my girl is crazy! She wouldnt let me pull forward, finally the suburban backed up and I drive forward. What a day!! read more
