I am a long-term wearer (10+ years) of multi focal specialty contact lens. Initially, it took…read moreseveral appointments and many, many contacts to find the right fit, but my previous optometrist was a rock star at working though this process. And there was no upchage for this service. I recently moved to Baldwin county and needed to replace the contacts. So in doing my research for someone specializing in these types of contacts, I found Dr. Ferris-Metzger at Premier Medical in Daphne. The appointment went well and I provided Dr Ferris-Metzger with my previous contact vials which has all the measurements and sizing for the fit of the specialty lenses. I just needed to know if any of my distance / up close vision had changed and check the health of my eyes. Fast forward 4 weeks to when the lenses arrived and I get an invoice for 3x what Ive historically paid for the lenses (they are sold as 2 pairs to change out after 6 months of wear). I thought there has to be a mistake... the wrong type of lens was ordered or the technician wrongly ordered "2" sets (meaning 4 pair). I communicated my concerns with Dr Ferris-Metzger's technician and her response basically explaining to me how the lenses work, how they are sold and that this was the price. No new information to me and no answers to the questions I had proposed. At this point, I contacted my previous optometrist 4 hours away, to inquire about any price increases. They confirmed the price was what I'd paid previously (which was $600 less than Premier Medical) After that, I tried calling a business manager and was put in touch with the contact lens person. This went the same way as the previous conversations. No one appears to be interested in my honest attempt to understand the price difference at this place. And to add insult to injury, Dr Ferris-Metger had the contact lens associate inform me that I would be charged a contact fitting fee of $40 which I would have to pay before she would release my prescription (yes I asked for it as a matter of principle). If you will see above, there was basically no "contact fitting" because I provided my previous measurements. I now have an appointment with an optometrist in Fairhope. Their office confirmed that the price of the lens will be what I'm used to paying ($700) and I'll pay for another exam. But I don't think I have a choice. And yes, I absolutely love these lenses and understand that they are a premium product. But charging $600 more for the same lens I can purchase down the street is insane. Bottom line -- buyer beware.

Wifey recently purchased hearing aids. They have been great and she has enjoyed them immensely. A…read morelittle problem recently occurred with the dome on one of her hearing aids coming off and lodging inside her ear canal. It didn't hurt but it was some what bothersome. All the Doctor offices are closed so we opt for the local emergency room. We live in a town of 5000 and are fortunate to have an ER. The Dr in attendance tonight tries unsuccessfully to pull it out. Ends up inflaming the ear canal lining rubbing tools against the lining. To his credit he did his best but just didnt have the tools to do the job. He gives her a pain tablet and refers her to an ENT. As we leave he is willing to try some more but we leave and settle in for the night. Pain pill does it's job. The next morning we call Premier Medical and they have us come on in. After a 75 minute drive we arrive and have very little waiting time. We get to see Dr Kimberly Elliot. Dr Elliot has the dome out in less than 30 seconds. Excellent bedside manners and knew what she was doing. Also she had the tools/instruments to work the dome out. I recommend Dr Elliot for all ENT events in the future.

This place is a joke. I have tried to talk to the owners but they were too cowardly to call me…read moreback. So I want everyone who reads this to know about this place. They made my 82 year old dad wait for 3 1/2 hours to get his hearing test done. The office is totally disorganized and didn't seem to know he was waiting in the booth or in the office or anytime they handed him off to another employee. The manager admitted they have "staffing issues". They tried an illegal bait and switch on my dad. When he wouldn't buy their new hearing aids they tried to charge him $1,000 to adjust his hearing aids!!!! The office manager said this was a comparable price to what others charge. That is not true! He is getting them adjusted tomorrow for $300!!!! To me it seemed they were trying to take advantage of an elderly person. When I called to complain to the owners they were too cowardly to call me back. Something is definitely wrong here and I hope no one else goes here and suffers like my dad had to.

Then Brandon quickly resolved all my concerns and explained the alternatives for better hearing. He also took the time to educate myself and my husband about the many variables influencing hearing loss.
