More than 45 years ago, I suffered a severe facial injury that affected my entire face, including…read moremy nose. As a result, I was unable to breathe properly through my nose for over four decades and had to rely primarily on mouth breathing. This significantly affected my quality of life. I struggled to sleep, and I often had to pull on the side of my face and nose to allow enough airflow to breathe. During those 45 years, I underwent multiple surgeries and spent a considerable amount of money seeking treatment from different surgeons. Unfortunately, none of the procedures provided a successful or lasting solution. Despite these setbacks, I never lost hope and continued searching for a doctor who could help me. I was eventually referred to Dr. Derek Jones. Dr. Jones performed my surgery, and when I woke up after the procedure, I immediately noticed a small improvement. Within the first month, my breathing had improved significantly. Now, more than five months later, I can breathe much better than I have in over 45 years. I am truly happy to be able to breathe normally again. I no longer have to pull on my nose or face just to get enough air. Dr. Jones accomplished what I once thought was impossible. Six months later, I get an additional bill claiming 90 days past due (1st bill I received) and the bill said insurance did not cover all of the necessary procedures. If everything was pre-approved, what changed? It appears like there were several add ons to the bill that may or may not have been included in the original cost discussion with the insurance. (My coverage did not change). I was never informed that additional procedures were necessary during or after the procedure that would increase costs. Was this a Bait and switch? Makes me wonder. I do not recommend this facility due to their billing procedures.

Disappointing Experience…read more I'm writing this review with mixed feelings. My mother was previously a patient of Dr. Kevin Welch, and I know him to be a very kind and competent doctor--our kids even attended the same elementary school. However, my recent experience with his scheduling staff was extremely disappointing. After booking an appointment weeks in advance, I was contacted to reschedule and was offered a time with the Physician's Assistant instead of Dr. Welch, which was not my preference. When I mentioned that I had been trying to contact the office--explaining that their email was not working and that I was disconnected when I initially tried to call--the scheduler became incredibly rude for no apparent reason. Throughout the entire conversation, she would not stop talking over me, blabbering incessantly and preventing me from getting a word in edgewise. She subjected me to a long-winded tongue-lashing and even accused me of being short with her, which was ironic given her own erratic and unprofessional behavior. When I explained that I would be mentioning this experience to Dr. Welch, she became even more indifferent, telling me to "go ahead" in a dismissive and antagonistic manner, as if my feedback would not make any difference. It felt as though she was an embedded employee who believed she was above accountability, which made the situation even more uncomfortable and frustrating. While I still plan to keep my appointment and expect a positive experience with Dr. Welch himself, I sincerely hope he addresses the issues with his scheduling staff. Specifically, the rude and unprofessional woman handling the scheduling needs to be either retrained or replaced. Her behavior is a disservice to Dr. Welch's reputation and could easily deter potential patients.
