When you walk in you get a list of "Rules" (Be Patient, Good Food Takes Time, Etc) They were right. After 15 min we were able to place our drink order and ordered Chips and Guacamole. Chips were super thin couldn't handle the bland, unseasoned Guacamole. Tacos next. Comical. I had the El Pastor and something else unmemorable. 3" tortillas with about a tablespoon of meat each. Average. Waitress was unpersonal and Slow. If you're part of the Rich Lake People and you want some nice drinks with tiny tacos this is right up your alley. If your some poor Father with a hungry family this is probably not your kind of place. Forgettable.

I like how many drink options they have and I went for the frozen strawberry margarita which was really delicious. I ended up getting 2 of these throughout the course of my meal. My friend also really liked her prickly pear margarita. For my meal I got the enchilada gigante and when the plate came out it looked right but after my first bite I realized it wasn't what I ordered. Inside was the ingredients of the Cubano chimichanga but it was still dressed as the enchilada. I can confidently say that pickles and enchilada sauce are not a good combination lol. I sent my order back which is the first time I've ever had to do that in my life and I was kinda embarrassed about it. The waitress was super apologetic. When I got the right meal back, it had 2 portions of rice and no lettuce and sour cream toppings which was not a big deal but just interesting that it got screwed up twice. The food was average. It was kind of bland. I do think the chips and salsa were tasty though! When the waitress brought our bills, only 1 of my drinks and my meal was on it. I thought she was comping me a drink for messing up the order but after handing over my card to pay she came back and realized she gave my actual bill to a different table. Overall just kind of a mess and unorganized.

The boa buns were perfectly tasty and I need to know what's in the Rangoon sauce because I could drink it (& might have!). The only feedback we had was the lo mein could have been a bit bigger in portion but otherwise very tasty scratch kitchen Asian food! We heard the bartender talking about all the specials so we hope the place stays in business for the long haul- sushi at the beach is always a hit in the summer

Next we each ordered pad thai. Don't do this, it's the equivalent of a frozen entree pad thai you'd get at any grocery store. The noodles are severely over cooked and everything is mushed together in a creamy peanut sauce. Really terrible, the worst I've had at a restaurant. My mom took hers to go and threw it out in a garbage can a few stores down. It was truly awful. The young boys working in the kitchen were loud and yelling at each other while turning up their radio and blasting music that you normally would hear eating out. They kept yelling really loudly to each other. I'm all about having fun at work, but be mindful especially if the kitchen is open and guests are seated where they can see and hear you. We won't be back, this is the third try and two times out of three the food was below sub-par. I really wanted this place to take off, but with the inexperienced kitchen staff and the lack of hospitality I think this place will close in a couple of years, at most. This industry is tough and I wish them the best.

Villa Marine Bar is the place you visit if you want cheap drinks and a beautiful view! My husband and I visited two nights in a row and didn't leave disappointed. They had a drink special for a pomegranate margarita and it was delicious! I also tried the blackberry margarita and no complaints. I've never had a drink from the Villa Marine Bar and questioned if there was alcohol in it because you test it instantly haha. The staff at the Villa Marine Bar are friendly and welcoming. Our waitress was new to waitressing (she told it was her first shift) and it was amazing seeing how patient everyone was with her. She was awesome and even remembered my group the next day when we visited. I was able to try the popcorn chicken during my first visit. It was okay but as I mentioned earlier, you go to the Villa Marine Bar for the drinks. Most of the people I observed were there for the drinks. The view of the marina was lovely. I visited right before the sun started setting so it was nice to see the color change of the sky.

My party suggested we stick around for dinner too, which I wasn't going to object to. I wasn't surprised to hear that we'd have a 35-minute wait on a Saturday. The staff was very accommodating and offered an empty room upstairs to wait and pass the time with some games. We asked if we could order some cocktails, and luckily the answer was yes. We placed an order with the hostess, and she brought those upstairs. Later, when there was a Shirley Temple spill, staff was gracious and whipped up another drink right away. Hospitality deserves five stars alone. What else deserves five stars? The cocktails of course. I had two "hotties," which were perfect with the wintry weather...and smart thinking. Who really wants a cold drink in January? The menu is simple, and much of the food is locally-sourced (huzzah). I vegetarian-ized the Christmas Dinner pizza, and it needed the saltiness/fatiness of the sausage. Still, I'll give points for creativity. Four stars. I get destination vibes from this spot, and I know I'll need to return in the summer months for the most optimal experience...but I was overall impressed with my winter trip. Five stars for Iron Fish Distillery!
