8 months ago I would have recommended this park based off of that visit. However, this past weekend and apparently a security/ management change, changed my opinion. The camper next to us (apparent residents lot X-50) were selling something all throughout the day & night. The full on party providing teenage girls alcohol by a man that looked well over the age to be their father. Then add in 7-8 year old running around unattended at midnight. Where's DCF for these poor children. Park security frequented the site as well. Now, lets say this didn't happen.. Then you have another resident Sites X32 or X34 blaring music at 2 am for 20 min and again at 4 am. Dont get me wrong we like to drink w/ the best of 'em. However, this was out of hand. So if you like to do drugs, drink & party all night long w/ out repercussions this is the place for you. I did address this w/ manager Mike 618-978-2338 and his response was "yes, I'm surprised no one called the cops or def yet myself ". Wow, seriously ya'll know about this and turn a blind eye. read more

Not as Big Rig Friendly as advertised . Cable never worked. Never fixed after notifying office. WiFi only at Marina. Our site was directly under a power line. Large rig sites are packed like Sardines in section F. Pool was ok. The only plus was we rented a nice boat on site & they have a marina. If you have a tiny rig & a boat it probably be ok. Many maintenance issues & much of the park looked run down from the last time we stayed 8 years ago. If you don't like something, no problem, no refunds. read more

Not for us! Roads were questionable, big holes, party atmosphere, cars a golf carts race around. Sites hmm every which way, nothing made sense. Our lot had a giant stump in the back with a tiny cement pad which was a mess. Electric and water connection in yard of the neighbor that had a fence around it and I was just able to get to it. Terrible time trying to find the site and we weren't the only ones! They have a restaurant and bar, looked nice. Two employees stood out lady in store and lady in bar, very nice and friendly. read more

Although, It may be a bit of a tight squeeze with spaces or feel you're on top each other but here in the East Coast that's quite the norm. Nature Resort is super busy on the norm however we were so lucky to get in Friday and Saturday and let me tell ya, the grounds are clean and the staff was super friendly. We felt secure and comfortable. They sprayed for bugs prior to our arrival so we were lucky not to have bug issues (no sand fleas). Overall there's lots of activities such as fishing, boating, LIVE music at the marina, clubhouse games, pool, inflatable slide, nature trails and can't forget the Tiki bar! We didn't check the pool cause it was too cold for us Floridians. They have long time residents, primitive camping sites, and cabins. Easy access to get in and out of the rv park. You can rent boats or golf carts ($60 a day). Breakfast served at the clubhouse reasonable prices and well size proportions served. Centralized to the local attractions and two unusual finds in Homosassa Springs such as the monkey island and Homosassa Springs Wildlife. Less than 20 minutes, you have 3 Sisters spring and Fort Island Trail. Bon voyage to this character-full rv resort, see ya again! read more

Totally agree with Ruth B's review. This is the ghetto of RV resorts. Spaces were not standardized sizes. Sites are really on top of each other. Lots of trashy old RVS with no upkeep. They had us originally assigned to be next to a permanent dwelling RV with a wooden deck. There was absolutely no room to open the slide outs. Apparently the size of your RV is not considered when you make reservations. When we went back to the office to ask for something else, we were told to just look for an open spot. Thank goodness we found something on our own that was available. Cigarette butts riddled the ground where our site was. Clearly there is no attempt to cleanup after customers checkout. read more

DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!!!!!The absolute worst place we have ever stayed. The whole area was sketchy. Most sites are permanent campers. The whole facility is trashy and rundown, junk boats and cars everywhere. The pontoon boats looked like they had never been cleaned or serviced. There were Campers that looked like they had been sitting there for years! All dirty with ripped tarps. Within our 3 day stay 3 total people spoke to us. We were totally the outcast for sure. There were big loud barking dogs. Makeshift plastic tarps as patio covers. We were told the only camp spots available were premium, on the water. There was plenty of other empty campsites off of the water. This place should advertise 75+ community. The biggest Ripoff of a 'resort' I have Ever stayed in. If it were possible I would give them a negative 10 rating. And what is the deal with Good Sam? How in this world did they get good ratings from Good Sam? Makes me want to find another app to find camping spots. These 3 days cost over $330. Would have loved to check out but they wouldn't issue a refund. I'm just totally bummed out! We were suppose to go to an other campground but when we arrive our place was already taken. And it was Sunday so the place was close. Then we were looking for an other campground rush not to lose our day and we found this one ! We were super happy! We had one of the best spot on the campground , staff was really efficient and we had an excellent time ! Great place ! With the lake, river surrounding the camp and all the very nice set up than people have! Very clean we would return for sure ! :) Thanks Nature's resort ! It's our 3rd time here and always a good time. This park is mainly for RVs and Campers but we tent camp since we stay only 3 nights! It icludes picnic table and concrete slab with each spot. Just always bring an above ground fire pit as they dont allow in the ground fires. They have a clubhouse and bar onsite in walking distance. Always super friendly campers and is a down to earth spot! Bathrooms are kept clean! Its our new annual tradition. Kid and dog friendly. read more

Cabin #1 is disgusting! The front door can only be locked from the outside with a padlock, if you're inside sleeping at night it can't be locked unless you ask a neighbor to lock you and then unlock it when you wake up! It stinks like an ashtray. Obviously the last party to stay were chain smokers. My daughter has asthma and it was a rough night for her and us! The light bulbs are almost all burnt out, the bathroom door has no knob, the ceiling is falling apart, I dropped a couple drops of water on the floor and after one swipe of the floor, the paper towel was black. I'm sure the floor hasn't been mopped in probably a year. Gross, gross, gross! The rest of the cabins appeared like they are being updated on the inside and outside. The staff was very nice when we talked to them about these issues. We rented a pontoon for the day from the marina, totally worth it to see manatees and go swimming. The pool was clean and warm, there was an small arcade for the kids and and ice machines to buy ice. Overall it was a very fun time, just wish our cabin was up kept like the rest of them! read more

I love Nature's Resort and have spent many nights there through the years. It is not the park it used to be. It was a wonderful family park. Now it is a party zone. We stayed 3 months this fall. When a permanent spot opened in F section, we jumped on it even though we only planned on wintering in Fl. We loved our new spot and neighbors (mostly). Unfortunately the man next to us spent most nights drunk and cussing with his friends, the polk county boys. Was embarrassing when the grands (5 & 11) came as the f bombs and other words/phrases are something they should not have to listen to. Guy next door parked his golf cart, music at full blast, beside our living room slide making it impossible to watch a movie inside, with air on and all windows closed. After asking him to turn it down, it only got worse. It came to a head and strong words were exchanged and Mike the manager was called (he also spends most nights tipsy and this night he definitely had been drinking alot). We complained about the music and was told that quiet time was at 11:00. Was told the park is not a "retirement park" and pretty much anything goes before 11:00. We were asked to leave and we said we would leave first thing in the morning. One of the men standing by Mike told us all "If you are smart you will all leave tonight" which was definitely a threat. I called 911 and told what was going on. They sent officers out. We waited with security (for protection) waiting for the officers to show up. After some time, I called back and was told that the officers had been out, talked to someone out front and had cleared the call. Now, I am a 65 year old woman with a disabled husband (and two nieces which were visiting) and the officers never came or talked to us. Either they are too scared to come into park or they know Mike and he called them off. Someone dropped the ball and if we had been hurt the police would not have helped at all. If you plan to visit be very careful of where they put you and for sure do not stay in F section. If they made it a family friendly park again (and replaced Mike with a sober and fair man) I would be the first to make reservations. Also our son rented one of the park models in F so they could be close to us for Thanksgiving. After it had been cleaned, we went in to check on it to make sure it was clean and the floor looked like brown vinyl. My husband grabbed cleaner and went to clean a spot and realized the floor was light tan vinyl and was just so dirty that it looked brown. We complained and took photos. After the floor was mopped two more time it was reasonably clean. read more

Worst family campground!!! Total bad experience and will never go back. Filthy bathroom where someone pooped in shower and was not cleaned up timely. Small sites, no parking and a very unsafe road with people speeding and hitting safety cones. Would not give refund due to medical emergency and had to leave early. First of all when we pulled up it was 3:50 pm.., which was about 10 minutes before close. We pulled around to our site, B6 and realized that we had the ABSOLUTE WORST spot in the park. However, after venturing out I do believe there were way worse spots. Our neighbors were at least nice and quiet. When we finally got backed in, we realized that they put our 40 ft. class A in a spot that was about 42 feet deep if you counted the tree that was in the way of backing in all the way in. Here's the rundown of our spot and experience. 1. We had no parking for our tow vehicle. We were in B6 and B5 was a better spot and vacant the entire time we were there. This is where they should have put us. We couldn't even slide one of our slides out because we had to put our tow vehicle between it and the power. We addressed this with them through messaging and they NEVER told us to move or that we could park in B5 since no one was in there. 2. Water & power were on the opposite side than they should have been on. Thank goodness, we had an extension for our power cord because it took every inch of it. 3. The sewer hook up was busted. They sent maintenance on day 2 of 3 to fix it. 4. The attendant at the front desk barely looked at my husband when he walked in at check in. She told him the WIFI network and that it was free. When we tried to connect to the WIFI, it wouldn't work. Let me make a long story short. I left a message the first night that was never returned. After them finally Facebook messaging me back the next day and saying "TECH XXX-XXX-XXXX". I guess that message means I should call the TECH #. I did and he informed me the antennas were out and weren't going to be back up anytime soon. After going back and forth with them, we were informed to go to the community room or marina. It didn't work at either. So DO NOT COUNT ON INTERNET. 5. Candy is abrupt and rude. Just be prepared. 6. There is no visible security anywhere and this is a huge park. They need security. 7. They also need parking attendants. This park is the tightest park we have ever stayed in and it's a huge park, just packed in on top of each other. No one will help you get set up or show you to your site. Not that we expect that, but we have had it at many parks, especially the larger parks. This park is really big and tight with poor lighting. There's no way we could have gotten parked at night. 8. The drunks come out to party at night. We watched a woman fall down because she was drunk. Another couple was so drunk they could barely put their words together. This was at the marina area where the TIKI bar is. But, at night the drunks were walking to and from the TIKI bar and they are loud. 9. Spot B6 is just dirty. Leaves, no grass, dirt, broken pad. GROSS. 10. Kids should never ride their bikes in this park. They will run a great risk of getting ran over by some of the teenagers flying around in golf carts and it's just too tight to prevent that. This place could be so much more, but there are so many full-time residents with just piles of CRAP outside. Everything from storage unit to beer and liquor signs everywhere, 4 wheelers, golf carts everywhere, and refrigerators outside. I could go on and on about the crap inside this park. But, for brevity I'll stop. Save yourself a lot of frustration and book somewhere else! read more

First the good: the people we encountered were very nice, the pool is decent and the bathrooms clean enough. Now the rest: seriously crammed in like sardines!!! One step of the concrete patio provides and we are standing right next to the next sites sewage line. We can sit on our patio and reach out and touch the next camper. NOT enjoyable. There seems to be no enforcement of the posted quiet times and people are zipping all over the place on their golf carts, going through campsites and any direction they choose. We talked with some people that camp here every year and they said the reservation people truly do NOT care if you leave or stay. We will NEVER come back to this campground. read more

Never a dull moment here! We love our home away from home! Yearlies are friendly, staff is wonderful, and fellow campers are easy to get along with! Just a welcoming place! General store onsite (hope you carry bait for the kids Soon), accommodating to most things! Love the fact there is a tiki place with love music and karaoke, you never have to leave! Plenty of things for the kids, not to mention each year they add a new activity for them! Always something fun going on! Kids have a great time as well! Tonight, my family and I are lucky that the Best Western in Crystal River had a room and also had a place to park a large truck/travel trailer otherwise, thanks to Nature "resort", we would be sleeping in the Wal-Mart parking lot. Not only was our assigned spot occupied when we pulled up, along with all the others around it, we could not have gotten in it if it was open! I specifically asked for the size of the spot when making the non refundable reservation and was assured it would be fine. My husband and I are both veterans, which i told the woman who took my reservation. This is how Nature "resort" treats veterans? This place should be ashamed. What a disgrace. read more

First off the people are very nice here. Pros: they have a nice size pool and play area for children. The Tiki restaurant/bar is nice place to listen to music and eat dinner on the weekend, very convenient. They have a few activities such as ice cream social and games planned. Most lots not on the water have some shade. They are right on the water and you can rent boats their. Cons: Their are a lot of ATV's and golf carts running around on the weekend. Some of the people party hard on the weekend. When the Park is full like it was the end of June we had low water pressure and on Saturday our break blew about 5 times just with our AC, refrig and the water heater on. Not enough washers and dryers for a place this big and 3 machines were out of order. If you rent a boat you have to remember to not have the sun shade up when going under the bridge. It would be helpful if they would put a sign on the boat where you drive it as a reminder when you are coming in or it will cost you $500 in repair fees. Suggestions: maybe they should invest some of the profits into remodeling their out dated cabins and facilities. The bed was like sleeping on just a box spring with no mattress. The outside of the cabins have been fixed in places and not painted. There was green mold on the outside of the sliding glass door and where they replaced the hand railing and did spray paint it they got the paint all over the sliding glass door and didn't even clean it off. The place could use a good make over. read more

ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE WITH THE STAFF AT THIS RESORT. In early June, over the phone, and with the help of Susie (who was actually very nice even though I never dealt with her again.... and as you will read, I really wished later that I had), I booked and paid half of the cost of our stay for a cabin that included a Murphy bed (in order to sleep 4 adults) and that was situated on the water exactly where I had hoped we would be so we could enjoy views of nature, relative quiet, and the gorgeous sunsets. Susie had recommended that specific lot to me even and said that it was by far the best and how lucky I was that I was so ahead of the game and booking it early. Another couple we were coming with booked an RV lot on the water near our cabin in mid-June for the same August weekend for their camper. Well, lo and behold, when we showed up to check in on our scheduled date, our cabin had inexplicably been given to someone else, our friends who had rented (and paid for) the RV lot on the water near us also discovered their lot had been given to someone else, and the trip continually went quickly downhill from there. My fiancee', my friends, and I ALL found the staff to be outrageously rude, apathetic, terse, and any other word that you can think of to describe the opposite of helpful or even civil. No one cared or even pretended to care that our cabin had been given away. When no one knew what to do with the mistake and how to handle it, I was put on the phone with some woman named "Candi," who I might add was described by the ladies in the office as the culprit who supposedly booked someone else into our already reserved cabin some time in mid-July (after I booked it in the first week of June and was mailed a receipt and letter confirming such). Candi was ruder than even I could have imagined (I have a vivid imagination) to eventually be rudely told that I could pay 80% of the cost we had been quoted to be in a cabin nowhere near the water.... Or, that I could take my car full of groceries we picked up on the way in, our stuff, and our friends and leave. Outrageous. After I raised Cain, nearly cried from anger and frustration, and sent my fiancee' out of the office who was justifiably, quickly losing patience faster than me as I worked very hard to remain calm and polite with the ladies despite my frustration, and went continually back and forth with "Candi" (who eventually told me she didn't want to speak to me anymore and that I could not speak to anyone superior to her because "he" -whoever that is-, was on vacation with his family) for a period of no less than 45 minutes, my proposal that we be given two cabins for the price of one was accepted and we went on our way to check in. We were not happy with this; however, we had a car full of groceries, a fun weekend planned with friends, and a scalloping charter booked the next morning, so we tried to make the most of it despite my great disappointment. The cabin we were placed in was aesthetically adequate for a campground/rv resort (although there was trash all under the stairs and outside around the "cabin"/mobile home), but yet again it was nowhere close to where I had booked our cabin on the water. And because of the blunder with our cabin and our friends' rv spot, we were all separated from each other. We made the most of it, but it was not the experience I had planned and my disappointment was compounded by the insensitive and downright rude reactions of the staff. However, things worsened as on Friday after we settled in, we called to rent kayaks and were told that we had to rent the kayaks by no later than 4 p.m. It was already 5:30 p.m., so we planned to go the next afternoon after we returned from scalloping for the day. The next day (Saturday) we returned from scalloping at about 2:00. We unloaded the boat, put our scallops away, ate a snack, and then called at 3:05 P.M. to rent the kayaks (that we could see from our cabin and that no one was using), and we were told that we could not because they could not be rented any later than 3:00 P.M. When my fiancee' pointed out the exact explicit conversation that we had with the front desk the day before when we were told in no uncertain terms that we could rent them until 4:00 P.M., we were rudely (in the same vein as our conversations when we checked in) told that that was impossible, we were never told that, and that because it was 3:05, we couldn't do it. Disappointing again. Unnecessary rudeness again. Blatant disorganization and lack of communication between staff yet again. Final word(s): My fiancee' got bedbugs from the bed in the cabin. THAT'S RIGHT. BEDBUGS. We noticed as soon as we returned home directly after checkout on Sunday. Bottom line: DO NOT STAY HERE. They are horrible. read more

Really enjoyed our visit, easy access to the water, river has clearly marked channels and a solid boat ramp. It was a little tight to get the boat trailer backed in with being at full capacity but otherwise great. Limited space at the dock to leave the boat in overnight. Amenities were aged but in good shape, place was clean including toilets and showers. We'd stay here again in a heartbeat. read more

WARNING***** DO NOT STAY HERE!!! Worst camping experience of my life and the customer service, well, there is no customer service here. I'm an avid outdoors woman and love to tent camp with my teenage daughter. When we arrived there was a boat parked in our narrow site. We were in a hurry to set up camp because it was starting to get dark out. We called the office, the lady said to give her some time and she'll have the boat removed by security. We asked if we could stay in one of the other vacant sites and when those campers arrived later in the evening, security would already have the boat removed. Upon their arrival, other campers could easily stay on the site we were initially given with the boat already being removed. The lady in the office said NO, she will not switch out site even though our site was unusable, stating she can't do that. I begged her, she said NO. Unfortunately there was no where else for us to stay so we were forced to wait while security went door to door looking for the boat owner. FINALLY, the boat was removed from our camp site. When I pulled my car in I scraped the whole bottom of my car on what turned out to be a massive tree stump and root system (guess that half of the campsite is unusable, can't even park my car!). Finally, we were looking for the electric and water which they said every site was equipped with. How could we miss it on such a small site? We just could not locate it anywhere. We asked the neighbor Bill and he showed us where it was, it was completely covered in his enclosed carport tent and he had his RV totally hooked up to it, water, cable TV, he had his own electric meter on it, and it was all totally engulfed within his patio and patio furniture. He said he has been living there all year (he has a one year contract and as soon as it ends he's outta there) and he said our site is not a site, it's never been used since he's been there and our site is actually a road (full of tire grooves) and here was a massive tree with a massive tree stump in half he site. The only ground usable for a tent was totally full of ant hills and a broken cement slab. So now we had no water or electric on our site and could not even cook dinner or any meal so we were forced to dine at a restaurant (not exactly the camping fun we were looking for). We didn't even have a picnic table, there was one there all rotted out with no seat and the other neighbor was using the table part to keep his equipment on it. Management has a NO REFUND policy but since they did not provide me what I paid over $40 for, I'm asking my credit card company to help fight this for me and possibly get me a refund. We packed up and left at the crack of dawn and moved to a beautiful state park for $22 a night with a picnic table, fire ring, water, electric, and a place to park my car without destroying the undercarriage. read more

We have always had a great experience here. We have a 41 ft diesel pusher and although very snug have still enjoyed. Went up Thanksgiving this past & stayed on water. I know it's snug so we arrived early before it was full to make it easier for us to get in. No problems except out dock at site 38 could use some care but still nice to sit on. Most older rv resorts/campgrounds have difficulty fitting the larger rigs in as they have been gaining popularity & sites were originally made for smaller. Expect a tight fit here read more

If I could do minus 5 stars I certainly would! And I will read the Yelp reviews from now on before I camp anywhere - I didn't do so and regret our decision to stay here. Yes wedged in like sardines, limited 50amp sites and they were all horrible spots, the grounds leave a lot to be desired, dirty, pool was filthy, and worst of all ... there is no enforcement of quiet after 10pm people - teenagers and kids - riding all over with four wheelers and boom boxes. Felt like I was at RNYC. At least there you expect the noise and ridiculous behavior. But when we want to go away for a nice weekend to enjoy nature and some quiet - we certainly didn't appreciate the atmosphere here. Very few spots for those that don't have permanent sites. We will never return here and I will always check Yelp from now on. Good Sam led us astray with their high rating of this dump. Nothing to do here, staff is super nosey and rude. Disrespectful to me because I don't look my age, which is 21. Rented a golf kart and ID me when I rented it, but then tried to keep my deposit because they said kids were driving around on it, when I was the only one driving. I absolutely loved this place. First time going for New Year's. Rented cabin by the fishing peer. Kids had an amazing time. The bar was a great party and atmosphere. Rented a pontoon for the day. Absolutely the worst kind of people work here. From when we first got there we were judged. (Being gay im sure didn't sit well with a lot of people) there was some one parked on our camp site when we first got there and they wanted to towe their truck and we said not its fine just find us another site i don't want to towe anyone's car..so they got us another site with rocks all over the floor (mind you we are tent camping)..long story short we rented a boat from them and there was no where to park so we asked 2 staff that worked at the site and the person who was staying at the site if we can park in their spot they all said it was OK. We even left a note with our number just in case.. next thing we know our car was gone and got towed. All of our food and supplies were in the car.. my kid was crying and upset. I had to spend 250$ between lyft and the towe company to get it back... all the fat guy at the front can say was o well and shrugged his shoulders while my kid was in tears. We left that night after spending hundreds of dollars there they refused to refund us our money for the nights not spent there because Mike (the fat guy) said so.. definitely feel this was an act of hate against us from the beginning. Disgusting by there actions and don't recommend anyone to go to this site. Don't waste the time or money.. read more

We live an hour & a half away from Homosassa in southeastern Tampa area, so we were able to park our 5th wheel here for a month & drive up every weekend. We originally planned our trip just for one weekend, but had so much fun we extended our visit. There is a country store at the entrance that has basic camp supplies, plus ice cream, beer, Nature's Resort souvenirs & cute camp kitsch. They rent golf carts, pontoon boats & cabins here too. The shaded, grassy sites are sometimes small & get booked quick; we are quite big & stayed in the gravelly, no shade section, which was unfortunate but not a deal breaker. In the back of the campground is the river. They have a nice boat ramp, dock & dive bar/restaurant. We were there for Halloween & the decorations were fantastic. There is also a clubhouse that serves breakfast every weekend, a playground & pool for the kids & very clean bathing facilities. This isn't a fancy place, but everyone is friendly & hospitable. Across the street is another restaurant & bar that we visited many times as well. Publix, fast food, Walmart, Crystal River fun & a great little wildlife park is all within minutes away. We look forward to returning soon! read more
