My kids absolutely loved this place, it's really the people that make it up. My toddlers absolutely love older people, I can tell you they would talk the ear off of anyone resembling a grandparent! Luckily for me they don't mind too much. In fact those kids have become celebrities! Every dog knows them and every dog owner knows their name! The one problem I see is the bathrooms really really need to be cleaned! It's gross sometimes! I've seen hair in the shower that was there two days ago! Yuk

I was hesitant to say the least about staying here. I read online how the cabins are really just trailers in an rv Park. Pulling up I thought "mm ok" but once I walked into our cabin/trailer I instantly felt comfortable. Our truck and boat fit in front of our patio ... we have a pretty big boat so I think most people would fit in the spot. (We have a extended cab and a long bed with a 25ft boat and we fit just right) Immediately in the door is the living room dining area. It is such a small space and the furnishings made it feel more comfortable and cozy than I would have imagined. The colors and the cute turtle painting gave it a nice feeling that you were in a home not in a hotel which I found to be comforting. The tv in the main room was huge for the space and it was on a swivel wall mount so with the kitchen window open my friend watched the game while grilling outside- he was pretty happy about that. Each place has its own fire pit... perfect for a cold weekend like it was. Everyone minded their own business and left each other alone. The bedrooms were only big enough for beds and a small tv was mounted on the walls so that you could watch tv in bed. The beds felt like they were memory foam there were three beds total all of which were full size ... it was very comfortable. The bathroom was small but very functional. They clearly did a renovation on our cabin... even the sink in the bathroom had a led light so that it glowed when you turned it on at night. My only complaint in the bathroom was that the shower curtain was only a cloth one without the plastic lining. The couch felt like it may have been broken a little. When you sat down it like made you sink almost like you were on the springs. The park has its own boat ramp but the water is a little shallow so it's better suited for a skiff, bay or flats boat but we just barely made it our first time out and decided to go to a different ramp for the rest of our trip. I can't drive a truck with a trailer another guest jumped in and helped my friend launch the boat. Such a great experience. Everyone was very friendly, it was a nice quiet stay & our cabin was very comfortable. I would definitely come back again ... just when it's warmer out so the boating is more enjoyable.

This is really a nice park. It just has a few little quirks that bring the rating down in my opinion. First of all, the location is fantastic and the sites are huge. They have a weird way of labeling the sites from premium to standard or based on the type of club or discount the person gets. I think this causes more problems than it's worth. The park sits on the canal and you can rent pontoon boats. There's a nice game room, shuffleboard court and other outdoor sports areas. The pool is really nice but the hot tub is out of commission and looks as though it's been that way for sometime. In addition to the fee you pay here, you get stuck with an additional $4 per day resort fee. Many of the Encore / Els parks charge that extra fee. The wifi isn't free like many parks. There's an additional daily fee for that too. We would definitely come back even though I can't give it more than the 3 stars because of the broken hot tub and additional fees for amenities that other parks don't charge extra for.

If you're arriving after dark, be cautious--the entrance sign is not lit. I was driving a 40-foot motorhome towing a 30-foot trailer and mistakenly took the first turn instead of the second. The signage isn't illuminated, so headlights are helpful to confirm you're in the right place. I highly recommend arriving before dark. The campground is very quiet and feels like stepping back into "old Florida." It sits right on the river, where we saw otters playing and fish jumping--literally jumping two feet out of the water. Very cool. We stayed in Site 20, a pull-in site with excellent river views and located right next to the boat ramp. There's a small store on-site that sells firewood, fire rings at the sites, and it's perfect for a relaxing evening. The permanent residents were extremely friendly and helpful. Kayaks are available to rent for river trips (we didn't do that this time). They don't sell bait, but there's a great bait and tackle shop less than a quarter mile across the street with wonderful people--perfect for fishing off the dock. No problems at all, the dogs loved it, and my wife really enjoyed how relaxing it was. We'd happily stay again.

It was fairly quiet for being a holiday weekend. There is a pool but we didn't use it. Looked nice. There seems to be a lot of permanent and seasonal residents. Maybe that's why it was quieter. Lot of nearby places like Monkey Island, Yule sugar Mill Ruins, Ellie Schiller State Park. Overall nice experience just like first time we stayed there.

Our reservation packet was in the late-arrival box. Nice color-map with good description of amenities. Beyond this the service was almost non-existent. Bath House was not the cleanest and the men's has only ONE toilet and ONE urinal. There are only TWO showers, although never had to wait. Shower debris were not cleaned during the four days. The left-side sink faucet handle was broken and spews water all over your pants because it has no aerator. Trash dumpsters are located at three corners of the park, but not the main entrance, so not easy to drop trash. I had walked our nightly trash to the bath house only to find no place for it. There was a single trash can by the fire pit but it was overflowing. Quiet: Pretty good here because many of the sites are long-term, so they aren't outside making noise. Cleanliness: Besides the bath house mentioned earlier, parts of the park are okay, like the office, pool and shuffleboard areas. Many of the long-term residents have junk piled up on their properties that detracts heavily from the cleanliness. The back of site F05 has a direct view of the long-term resident behind it and it looks like a junkyard with a lot of broken down items and storage units in very poor condition. Summary: Although the price was good, we decided we wouldn't stay here again unless it was the only place available.

They do have picnic tables that are on asphalt type material like your rig Handful of sites with concrete areas that have furniture and fire pits A few sites that have a fenced in area attached with a shade tarp for your dog that also has patio furniture Sites don't have enough room for an additional car like we had and there wasn't really any overflow parking except maybe five spots towards front by clubhouse and main road. Well maintained grounds. They pick your trash up for you if you put it outside each morning. Absolutely no shade. No trees. Nice clubhouse and pool area. They serve free breakfast everyday from 830-10. Coffee, juice, cereal, oatmeal and bagels. They also have a little store inside. Toiletries. Fire starting stuff. Etc with some cool souvenirs. General camp store supplies. The bathrooms/showers were clean and huge. They're hot inside. Appears to have no AC . There are six Bathrooms. They're all unisex. The laundry was super clean and nice. It has AC. Takes Apple Pay or cc. 3.50 to wash 3.50 to dry. 4 of each machine. 30 min wash cycle 45 min Dry cycle Bath house and laundry are keypads and a code is given to you at check in. Free WiFi that was actually decent. Small dog area. Has two chairs and a shade tarp. Could use some ant spray. Outside our rig in the grass area we had some small ant piles. So I think spraying would be nice. We were pull through site 404. They have a few tent sites that sit on the ponds (a protected wetland preserve) which may or may not have gators. That would be a concern to me if I tent camped. They all have triangle tarps for shade. Overall I'd give this Koa 4.5 stars Having a small cement area to step out on would be nice. No onsite camp host for after hours. If emergency told via paperwork to call 911 Also lack of lighting throughout camp Military discount
