Although there weren't any at the register, Mario immediately offered to get some for me. He actually jogged over to grab them so he wouldn't keep the other customers waiting, which I thought was incredibly thoughtful. He went out of his way to help with something that could have easily been brushed off, and his willingness to help made a great impression. It's rare to see someone show that level of attentiveness and urgency for such a small request, but it really enhanced my shopping experience. It is, however, a quick way to grab a few basic items, such as milk, eggs, bread, veggies when you are in a hurry and don't want to wade through a big store like Winco. Forgot an item at Winco? Pick it up at Aldi in a fraction of the time. I have found several items at Aldi that I go there specifically to pick up, such as their "fresh, never frozen" salmon, the cracker cut cheddar and Gouda cheese, the hothouse cucumbers ( always under a dollar), the ground chicken which is half the price t Winco. And the seasonal products are fun to browse rough, especially at Christmas when they bring in European chocolates and cookies. It isn't full service, but it has some terrific offerings. A friend swears that their frozen cod fillets make the best fried fish (and chips) than anything you can get at a restaurant. She goes there for the cod and the chayote, which is always the cheapest in town, when they have it! As for the employees, I have always found them when I needed them, and they have always assisted me. As for self-checkout, easy, quick, and when I make a mistake, the employee at the register fixes it without me asking.

Employees aren't very friendly; always seem like you're inconveniencing them. Private parking lot!
