If I could add five more stars I would. After bring my boy KODI to three other animal hospitals for…read moreover a year with what I consider serious issues concerning blood in stool, diarrhea, not eating and lethargy. All three doctors at those facilities blamed his being overweight and diet. But the issues did not improve with new diets, pills and prescription food. We were frustrated and KODI was getting worse. I heard about Dr. Oh at Abbott Veterinary Hospital do I made an appointment. On our very FIRST visit, Dr.Oh climbed down on the floor and did a digital exam and found that KODI had a polyp that was causing at least most of the problem. We scheduled surgery with her to remove the polyp but during surgery Dr.Oh found that the polyp was larger than first examined and she indicated KODI needed to go to Blue Pearl for more extensive surgery. To sum up the story, KODI had a successful surgery, tumor was not malignant, and he is doing exceptionally well thanks to a wonderful Dr. Oh who took the time and care to do what being a veterinarian is all about...caring for those who have no voice. Heartfelt thank you to Dr. Oh.

First appointment I brought in my cat because he was having trouble pooping and was straining so…read moremuch it was causing him to throw up. I left with only an antibiotic, probiotic and his food they'd given him. We went with the cheapest option since I am currently a college student only working a part time job. They told me in order to figure out what was wrong with him I'd have to bring him back for blood work. Two and a half weeks later I came back because of what they said. I had to come up with another 200 since the test is $185. When I get back to pick my boy up, turns out my bill had racked up to 400. So I had to get my friend to help me pay. WHY? Because medically I understand but the fact that initially came in honestly trying to do the right thing for my boy with the tightest pocket only for them to extort me from 400 dollars. I say extortion because the second visit they did a rectal exam, which should have happened the first time. instead of making me come back to pay money i dont even have in my pocket. when they handed my boy back, they placed him at the front door. i payed up front and didnt get much time to question anything since there was someone behind me. id been taken to the back with other visits and they typically take their time to explain the visit but this time they did not. my significant other called back because everything felt wrong and they did in fact state it was not necessary for my boy to have a blood test to figure out if he was constipated. they let my cat suffer for almost three weeks just for more money. i used to love coming here...thanks Dr. O for also turning your cheek when I wanted to express what had just happened.

I would give zero stars if I could…read more I've never written a poor review and have always admired the hard work required to run a small business. However, based on a recent experience, I feel compelled to share this story in hopes that it doesn't happen again... Yesterday my golden retriever Leo was groomed by The Waggin Wagon (a local groomer here in ATL). He has been seeing this groomer since April 2020. He had some knots on his chest and belly that I showed the groomer - she expressed she may need to shave down those areas. I agreed that this was fine. Hours later when she brought him to the door, the result was jarring. He was shaved completely bald aside from his head and tail (pics to come...) I immediately called the owner of the salon, Erin. I shared with her that in my opinion, the pet owner should always be asked permission to make such a drastic change as a full shave. (Not to mention, this was a MOBILE grooming service because of Covid and they were right outside our home.) I also requested a full refund- I was devastated and so unhappy with their service. Today, she called me back to tell me they will not be refunding me since the groomer "did what she had to do" to get the knots and matting out. I told her the groomer should have discussed this with me, and that I would have 100% not proceeded with shaving him. I would've consulted another groomer for a second opinion. What happened next was unbelievable... In order to justify her company's poor decision to fully shave a golden retriever, she claimed that I was a "cruel, inhumane pet owner" for letting his hair get so tangled. Anyone who knows me knows how much I love Leo (and all animals), and I was SO upset that she made this accusation. I couldn't believe it. I ended up calling our vet who has loved and cared for Leo for years to get his opinion on how to care for his skin, and he was just as upset by this as I was. I've never had a worse encounter with a small business owner, and when I told her I would be posting a negative review her response was "go ahead, I'd love to see how influential you are." This is just NOT okay. Please be careful who you trust your pets with, and if you are in the area, PLEASE reconsider not using this grooming service. No one who owns a business should treat a paying customer the way I was treated. Period.

I looked at the reviews here and sympathized with the negative experiences, but find it interesting when a facility has all 5-star reviews and 1-star reviews with nothing in between. To me, that usually indicates that overall the experiences are positive but individuals who had a single event that went sideways always need to leave a 1-star review to make a point; so I read them with that in mind. My personal experience after multiple visits is a very positive one. Every time we come for a scheduled appointment, we are greeted with smiles and professionalism. The staff is quick to get us situated and our wait time in the rooms has never been lengthy. The different doctors are very friendly and professional and have provided excellent care to our two puppies. The techs seem to be different each visit, and I'm not sure why there may be turnover; but even with that concern, they are always extremely friendly and careful with our dogs and make us very comfortable throughout the appointment. I have not had any negative experiences and have been here 5 times with both my small dogs for shots, physicals, and checkups and every interaction has been positive. Yes, they seem to be a bit expensive and encourage testing and medications, but that's their job and my job is to decide if I want to pay for things using my judgment. It's the way the world is supposed to work, so no harm there. Overall very happy with the services provided.

Don't take your animal here, they may leave more sick than before you took them in!!…read more Took my senior dog here for some hip injections to help with mobility. This went fine. Fast forward 5 days and now, she can't breath or stand up without falling from exhaustion. All symptoms consistent with kennel cough and timeline fits. Dog is old, just hangs out at home so, she hasn't been anywhere else or been around other dogs. Called vet, they deny fault and what was even more unbelievable, was that they asked us to bring her in for another "exam" (ie: charge us more money and be exposed to more communicable diseases). We sent a video and pleaded for them to give us some medications to help her. We even sent a video so they could confirm the kennel cough. They didn't even call us back!! Not sure if my 15 year old dog will survive. Kennel cough is very tough on old dogs.
