I understand things happen but we booked a couples massage a month in advance since we would only be in town a few days for my husbands birthday. I explained this when I booked the appt. Our appt was scheduled for 4pm and just FOUR HOURS before our scheduled massage I received a voicemail and text that the massage therapist was out sick and they were cancelling our appt but would give us 10% off for the inconvenience. My very sweet boyfriend booked me the Oklahoma Red Earth spa package for my birthday. When I arrived I was greeted by the girl at the front desk who brought be back to the steam room. She nice/friendly but I do wish she would have told me little more clearly what was happening. It felt very rushed; she told me the order of services, but wish she'd told me where the shower room was, which massage room, that I'd need to wait a little bit before my massage, and who I was having my service with. She was the only person taking care of the front desk so this was probably a management issue. The steam room was fantastic, it is very nicely tiled, it didn't seem cheaply made as a previous poster said. It warmed up to 113degrees and was gradual which I loved! And the aroma therapy made it so relaxing. It was a very comfortable size for one person. It's silent in there, other than the sound of the steam. I used the rain drop shower (twice), they did have shampoo and conditioner available to use. There's no hair "product" and no combs available for use (so bring your own)! I did call asking if I'd need to bring shampoo/conditioner and was told it was available, but I wish they'd told me there was nothing else, and to bring my own comb. I've been to spas in the past where you can use their comb, they're sanitized in between. My massage was great, I had a 90 minute hot stone massage followed by a body scrub. Both were very relaxing. My masseuse did a very good job and was accommodating; I asked for more/less pressure and also asked for the heating pad to be turned off because I was hot (not because it was hot, because I just run hot). She was very nice. I was so relaxed when I was finished! I can see how people would say the spa is dirty, the walls need some paint and the baseboards could be scrubbed. The floors are concrete so they can look dirty, but I don't think they are dirty. I used 3 towels, they were oldish towels and one of them smelled mildew-y, like it'd been left in the washer too long before being thrown in the dryer. The rugs in the shower room and treatment room could be replaced. Things I'd recommend: -Washcloths in the shower room -Locks on the shower room doors (this really bothered me) -New towels -Combs -Some kind of music piped into the steam room, something "zen" as it is way quiet in there, I took my phone in there and played some zen music. -A selection of sizes for spa shoes (they gave me a small size and I'm a size 10) I wore my own birkenstocks around the spa. -Lockers for your stuff, or cubbies or something. You have to carry everything around with you and give you a basket. Overall I enjoyed my time here. The staff was nice, services were as described on the website and if I lived in the area I'd probably return. My services were all on time. Upon checking out the girl did ask if I wanted to rebook, but once I said I didn't live there she didn't push it. I do think they are priced like a higher end spa. When I go to a spa I expect they accommodate the things I'd need and if I came back I'd bring my own towels, shower sandals, etc and because of that I'd expect the prices to be a little lower. I'd agree it's missing the "comfortable" feel that I've experienced in spas in the past. read more

I found the Nurture Day Spa by searching for places in the area with a steam sauna. I called and made my appointment - no problems there. I was told they also had a dry sauna. There are three reasons I thought this place was just two stars. First, the dry sauna was a joke. I think I've seen pictures of the exact same sauna on an instructables tutorial. Seriously. I could have built this sauna in an afternoon. It probably would have looked better too. Also it's worthy of mention that this dry sauna is tiny - like for midgets. I did give it a try. It did work, however, ( here's reason number two for two stars ) it's hard to relax when you can hear every conversation, every word that's said, every phone ring, at the front desk area. I heard about someone's daughter's friend's kid switching to some private school, someone talking about studying for a test they have coming up, some lady called about tanning and after hanging up there was a long chat about tanning blah blah blah... Well, I came here for the steam sauna. It was just ok. Nothing fantastic. Just a run of the mill steam sauna. Did the job. Nothing good or bad to really report. Then I went to the shower room. It too was just... Meh. I'm used to spas having soap dispensers and dispensers for shampoo/conditioner. Not this place. It's just BYOSC. That's fine, just different I guess. It would have been nice to have a water cooler positioned right near the saunas so I wouldn't have had to walk out to the front area to get water but that's nothing too terrible, just a suggestion. Saunas tend to dehydrate you, so it would've been nice if I was offered a water bottle or something. I brought my own though so I was ok. The third reason for two stars was the sale pitch for future visits. I explained I was visiting from out of town, and this would be a one time kind of deal for me, but this gal wouldn't quit. She tried selling me on gift certificates, an additional visit good for any time in that month, etc. I usually just know what I want and want to pay for it and then I'm out. So that kind of turned me off. I wasn't too thrilled with this place and won't be going back even if I do return to Norman. The prices they charge to use their sauna are the same as what I pay to use a really nice sauna here in Vegas. read more

The massage therapists were talented, knowledgeable and interested in making the 90 minutes personal to our unique bodies. The atmosphere wasn't the most private (like the other review said you can hear other conversations happening and doors opening and closing). But that didn't affect the great massages. read more

I've had both a Brazilian wax and a facial here (separate occasions) The wax went fairly well, although she left a few stray hairs. However, she was very professional and I didn't feel uncomfortable at all. So if you get waxed, make sure you ask for Robyn. The facial was an entirely different experience. The girl didn't seem to understand the concept of a spa, because she insisted on making small talk with me for the entire first half. There were moments where I could tell she was on her phone, even though I had a towel or mask all over my face. Normally, the person giving the facial would utilize that time to massage your neck and décolleté, but she just sat there. That's a problem, especially when you're literally paying by the minute. Additionally, she wasn't thorough enough with my extractions. I can do a better job at home, honestly. When I got in the car afterwards, I also saw she did a piss pore job of wiping the mask off my face - it was all over my nostrils and ears, and even in my eyebrows and eyelashes. And none of the employees said anything when I cashed out, even though they would have clearly seen it. So for that experience, I won't go back. If it's something I can do myself, better and for cheaper, it's not worth it. P.S. They often send out an email newsletter with a bunch of offers, but won't honor them unless you explicitly bring it up at the register. So for example, for their anniversary they were offering 20% off all services, but only to people who told them that. Seems like a pretty dishonest way to run a business. read more

Customer service was terrible! Walked in and there seemed like they were in a hurry to get my appointment done to thread my eyebrows. Worst eyebrow threading I ever received, so unprofessional to leave my eyebrows uneven. One eyebrow was obviously threaded way too thinly than the other. The lady Robyn was not even compassionate about it and put the blame on me (weird). This was so unprofessional when it was clearly her fault that she ruined my eyebrows, now I have been embarrassed to go anywhere. It felt that she wanted to get me out of the shop quickly because even she knew she did a bad job and made me pay full price for something that made me feel like I was her first client she ever had.
