I really wish I remembered the woman's name who helped me! She was very kind and wanted to be sure I was comfortable as it is a process. The place itself was very relaxing, clean and welcoming. I am very blonde, including my eyelashes and eyebrows.. so I went here not long ago for a lash lift & tint. It took about an hour and I had decided last minute that I also wanted to do the eyebrow tint and she was all for it. Let me tell you, the results were great! For both the eyelash and eyebrow tint she knew what she was doing, made sure to explain the process after and made sure I was happy with them. Tristen did a great job on my full facial wax! I dont have problems with dark or excessive facial hair, but I was telling her that my face has been really dry for a long time and she explained waxing helps to exfoliate your skin. I was really amazed because it seemed to remove the dead skin cells even better than dermaplaning! I feel like it actually removed the super gritty feeling that I had on my face forever. Tristen is THE best at lashes! My lashes ALWAYS look perfect when she's finished. The bed is comfortable, as I've been to a place that sat you in a chair for two hours. It was absolutely HORRIBLE - my back was killing me afterwards. Tristen's studio is clean and inviting. Her facials are awesome too. I love the time she spends and the counsel she offers in order to better care for my skin. I have also had waxing performed by Tristen. Always quick, and brows look great every time. Her prices are also reasonable. My husband and I travel a lot, and I have found Tristen's services to be the best priced, especially considering the level of service I receive. I had been pretty stressed out lately and was looking for a place to get a massage. I went on groupon and found this place. I was hoping to find something that I can go to on a regular basis. Thus was not the places. I'm not that hard to please! I normally never complain about places and never give a bad review. My parents taught me if you do not have something nice to say, don't say anything at all. But this place is the worst place I have ever gone to! I even added this place on Yelp so others will know to never go there. Let me just make a list of everything that was wrong with this place and the service! 1: the guy that I made the appointment with was late by 5 minutes which is not to bad but still just added to the fire. 2: he did not really even look over the paperwork that I had filled out... come on what if I had a heart problem! 3: he got oil all over my hair and did not focus on the area that I had told him to before we started! 4: his breath smells like cigarette smoke and his clothes did as well 5: he talked the entire time! Which I normally do not mind but the crap that he had talked about was very inappropriate! He about the people that bought the groupon were not paying well. ( keep in mind that I told him that I had bought a Groupon before we even started). He told me that one guy gave him a $30 dollar tip.... and that it was a blessing in disguise. He also told me that he did a massage on his boss's boss. She owned 15 businesses and was very rich . And how she got him in trouble with her boss because he talked the whole time while giving her a massage. He also went on and told me the other jobs that he had in the past. And how people took advantage of him. He told me about his girlfriend and him being in the tornado and that was very tragic. He was very inappropriate and made me feel very uncomfortable! I'm a very nice person so I did not say anything to him. He is only 23 and has a lot to learn about customer service. I would never recommend this place to anyone! My friends gave me a gift certificate for my birthday, so I gave it a shot. When I walked in, I could hear voices, but it took a while for someone to come up to the front desk. Probably closer to five minutes. I did see the sign stating that if no one was up at the front desk, they were with a patient, which is why I waited patiently for someone to come up. But it was later than my scheduled time, so they knew I was coming. Once I told her about my appointment, she had me fill out the forms, etc., then took me back to the treatment room. Turns out, she was my massage therapist! I still don't know her name. She never introduced herself to me by name. She was a very sweet person, but must not be trained very much. She didn't use any pressure (I had explained that I was used to firm pressure and that my back was really tight and needed a lot of pressure) and seemed to spend a lot of time on my right shoulder blade. Yes, my shoulder blade. She barely worked on my calves or feet at all. I honestly wonder if she was just going by what she had seen other therapists do, because she went through the motions, but with no strength or deliberate movements to the large muscle groups. I guess the fact that she is a massage therapist means she isn't as familiar with the process of massage? I guess it should have been a tip-off when I never received a call back from the person scheduling; just a text. This was after I had called and left my contact information on their machine . In her response to this review, the owner states they are closed on Mondays. There is no indication on any site or on the phone message that the store is closed on Monday. Pretty impersonal to a first-time customer. And then to schedule a new client with such a novice massage therapist? Not a great business strategy to build a consistent clientele. I'm a big believer in quality customer service. The response to this review indicates that the owner is not willing to use feedback to improve the experience for new customers, only make excuses for a poor experience. And yes, after reading the owner's first argumentative response, I felt the need to clarify some points in my review, but honestly, this has become almost comical in its tone. I've never had an owner call me a liar, then wish me the best, which happened when she went back and edited her response. So, because of her poor costumer service, I've dropped my two-star rating to one star. Bottom line, very nice whatever-she-was, bad massage, even worse response from owner. read more

I've been going to Tristan at Wax & Relax since it opened. It's clean & quiet & calming. She has complimentary wine for those that need a little courage for the brazilian or just want to literally relax. This place is a hidden gem. Not but a few miles from the OU campus. I went to The Wax and Relax Studio recently to get a lash lift and tint. Although I booked my appointment with the owner Tristen, I was not seen by her. Instead I was seen by another worker named Marissa. That was the first red flag about my experience. Marissa was awesome and super personable and made the time fly. My appointment was at 1:30 and was only supposed to be 90 minutes, however I left the studio at 3:20. That was my second red flag. This was not my first lash lift so I am used to how they typically look right after you get them done. When I got in my car I noticed my eyelashes looked clumped and stuck together because of what I believed to be glue still stuck in them. That was my third red flag. I went back in the studio because I did not think that should be the case. Marissa offered to help me right away and took me back and started to make it right. However mid getting the glue out of my eyelashes, the owner, Tristen walked back and told her it was fine and that they can't remove all the glue from my eyelashes because it helps the lift "set". I was confused because in my previous experiences getting this done I had never had this issue and they have always taken ALL of the glue out. It is the day after and I still have glue in my eyelashes and on my eyelids. My eyelash lift is hardly visible and I unfortunately will not be returning to The Wax and Relax Studio. The only reason I am not giving this a one star rating is because of how nice Marissa was. read more

Well, I have officially given this place a fair chance. I have tried both hair removal specialists (Tristen and one other) and I can say that while they are both really nice and easy to talk to they are not thorough. It's a little inconvenient (not to say expensive) to have to buy waxing strips and aloe one day after your appointment to finish the job you just payed someone else a lot of money to do! Not to mention the inconsistencies happen to be in the hardest to reach places--think back of your knee, etc. Points for being super clean and easy to book and again just really nice ladies--but I am going to keep looking for a good waxing studio. read more

The only reason I no longer go is because I moved, but both girls really know their stuff, take good care of you and are very fun to chat with! Tristan really pays attention to your skin and what it needs when giving facials and I always got complements on my eyebrows :). Honestly, it had been a year since I attempted a Brazilian. I went to another Norman Salon and had a nightmare experience . It took well-over an hour, the lady was not very kind, made me feel very insecure and it was so painful with some terrible irritation. Did I mention this was before my wedding? Yeah not awesome. But I decided to try again and stumbled upon Tristen at Wax and Relax and I was BLOWN AWAY. Maybe 15 minutes from the time she started, and it was over. Though, it wasn't painless (you are waxing your friggin hoo ha) it was tolerable and quick. She was very nice and made me feel comfortable . (I never had to get on all fours, thank the Lord) I will definitely be getting back into the routine because of this experience. Thank you Tristen! read more
