There is also a little gift section, such as pillow cushions and bags for a hardcore animal lover. The hubs and I stopped by, seeing if we could find anything for our baby pup, but the items seem to be geared more for cat owners rather than dog owners. There were some cute fish-designed water and food bowls, and I enjoyed seeing a pug-pictured cushion pillow. There were some baked snacks for pets as well, but we had to pass on those as they would have gone stale during the remainder of our trip. Staff were friendly. +more items for cat owners +friendly staff

I like that I can pop in on my way home from work to pick up a bag of food for my cat. Friendly but non intrusive service makes it a delight to shop here. They have a loyalty system in place where they take down your phone number and track your purchases. When you hit a certain amount ($100, I think) you get a discount. I'm happy with any sort of discount, and not having to tuck yet another card into my wallet is a good thing.

This place is family owned and their employees are extremely helpful! I went in looking to purchase some cat furniture with in a $30 budget, which has been impossible to find at other pet stores. The worker showed me a variety of furniture all within my price range, they never tried to push me to buy something more expensive, which I appreciate. I ended up buying a 1 foot tall, carpeted pedestal for my cat for only $17.99! I returned a few months later to buy a larger cat tree, found a great, multi level one for $90! Paid a few extra bucks to have it delivered to my door. They have a good variety of food, including: evo canned food, science diet, and taste of the wild. I really like their variety of cat furniture, and toys, plus, I got a free stuffed mouse toy for my cat!

Jennifer takes care of the grooming here and she is amazing, she cut my cat's hair with nary a peep out of her, always talking to her and cuddling her. She asks that the owners stay with the pets so it helps them feel comfortable. My mom's cat is another story, 12 pounds of fury that growled, hissed and yelled, and then finally crapped in the corner of the table and refused to go back in her cage. Even then, Jennifer did not lose her cool and only partially charged us even though her time was taken up. I would never go elsewhere, the selection of food is pretty good and lots of toys for the animals. The clientele seems pretty loyal as well as a friendly staff.

Back to Mondou, they have a good thorough selection of what you need for dogs and cats and a few other smaller animals (small birds, hamsters, mice, rats ferrets etc). But mostly it's for cats and dogs. Collars, animal toys, pet food and bones plus much more. Mondou tends to have pretty good coverage in the province of Quebec with stores all over the place. I came by to her a new dog leash. The selection was pretty vast. All different colours and kinds. In the end I decided to go with a basic black one. What drives me nuts about this location however is the parking. It looks like it was an after thought with few spots and not very easy to get in and out of. However it's a minor inconvenience. Overall the big US chains such as Petco trump Mondou in terms of selection this location has the basics and then some. They also have a loyalty program. Just make sure you don't forget your loyalty card at home (like I did)! Woof, meow or chirp you should be good to go.

Although my spoken french isn't fantastic, I do have a good understanding of it since I went thorough the French school system. On multiple occasions I've had to stand and listen as store employees negatively put me down because of my speaking english rather than french. Not only is this racist and unacceptable; It's cruel. Especially since every-time I've entered the shop, I've been kind and warm despite the rude reception. They put down other reptile shops and boast as if they somehow know better... Yet have so continuously ill-advised me on the best care for my reptiles that I had to find out after paying 350$ to a vet. I would not recommend this store to anyone who respects humanity, and animals.
