Anyway I was in severe back pain spasms etc . I ran into the acupuncture Sang Han who works in this office, small house. At first he seemed interested but asked if I had insurance I said yes and showed him my card. He made copies all the while I was standing there in shear pain. He told me that I could come in on the Thursday at 11:00am . It was better than nothing I had at least an appointment even though no one else was around. Just him and I. Will get back to him later. The next day I came back to the office as this place was recommended by a colleague, I saw the receptionist/ secretary/office manager person and she saw that I was in bad pain but asked Me if I had insurance and I gave her the card, she checked it out and also made a copy. I then had to fill out several forms, I was in so much pain that I couldn't sit down and had to stand . I went back see Jennifer Stevens the chiropractor and she asked me questions , then put an electrical pulse pads on my lower back and left me alone for several minutes while she attended someone else? She then tried to adjust me and was clearly struggling and had to put a board between me and the bed/table. I then went to Leave still in pain and the office manager person told me the copay bill was $77.40, now I have highly rated insurance which is a PPO and my copay is $25. I told her that but was in so much pain and did not want to argue even though I attempted to explain. I went home still in extremely severe pain. The next day the acupuncture man texted me and told me that my copay was $25 at least he got that part right but later texted me changing my appointment and told me that I had to pay a $35 administrative fee on top of my copay. I texted back being curious and he said it was because he had to do paperwork. Isn't that what healthcare is in America? Anyway it was at that point That I called my insurance company as I was getting rather suspicious. They told me there is no administrative fee , I then told him and he cancelled me? Wow! Go figure. I then called the insurance company back and asked Them about the $77.40 and we immediately had a three way conversation, I was mainly listening as the insurance rep was explaining to The office person/receptionist/girl that it is $25 a visit copay that's it period. She said that they will give me credit on my Next visit. I called her back shortly after some thought as to how this center was just money driven and not Even caring about patients to cancel. She said they would send me a check For the difference. It had been over a month and I have not seen a dime or been given an apology or how are you feeling? I ended up going to see another chiropractor in the village who was 100% more sympathetic to his patients and not just about a money grab like the Carlsbad Chiropractic Center. Choice wisely people as there are quality chiropractors in the village that really care about their patients.

They go above and beyond whenever we have questions on our health insurance and really do their best to explain things fully and clearly. Hubby and I both come. We've only done the chiropractic services (although I believe there are also acupuncture and massage services also offered), but we would definitely recommend it! The office is only open Monday, Wednesday and Friday, but they have always been super awesome at fitting us in and making our appointments work within our schedules.

I've been going to Dr. Mike for over a year now, and it has been so beneficial. My initial appointment, Dr. Mike sat down with me, listened to my history and concerns and thoroughly completed his assessment. After the assessment, he made his recommendations for the areas that he would be focusing on and how frequently I should be starting out with the visits. After over a year of seeing him, with all of the techniques and tools he utilizes on my back, I have noticed great improvement in the way that I feel. I am now currently pregnant and continue to see him. At the beginning of each session, he sits down, asks how I've been feeling, and explains the changes in techniques as the pregnancy is progressing. He truly takes the time to make sure that you, as the patient, have an understanding of what he does, and ensures that you have any and all questions answered after every visit. I have also been seeing Lori, one of the massage therapists in office, and having the combination of a massage, as well as the adjustment is the best! Having both Lori and Dr. Mike work in the same office is beneficial as they work hand in hand and are able to coordinate if necessary. At my first appointment, Dr. Mike spent an hour on me doing a thorough assessment. His patience, kindness, and professionalism was evident from the very first day! I felt very comfortable with him from the start. I've been going in about once a week since my first visit and I have seen a gradual improvement in my spine and joints despite the continuously strenuous nature of my job. And, as of a few weeks ago, my husband who has neck and back issues has also started seeing him (he commutes from Poway). At every appointment, Dr. Mike does a combination of techniques to get the best result. Getting adjusted hasn't always been a pleasant experience, but somehow Dr. Mike makes it completely stress-free. And he never pressures me to come in more than I need to. When I called once, earlier than my weekly appointment because I felt like I had pulled something, he told me to wait and see if my body resolves itself before coming in. I feel like he genuinely cares for his patients. Mayra at the front desk is also very helpful and kind. The office is very easy to reach. My initial pain on a scale of 1-10, I was a 9-10 and I can take a lot of pain. I'm HAPPY to report now that I'm about a 2 and 3-4 on a bad day, but still working through the plan... read on if you have the time to heal yourself and do your homework...... My Story; I have lower back, sciatic, neck, shoulder, arm and elbow pain. The back and sciatic pain hit me last Sept. and I had never seen a Chiropractor. I had just dealt with the pain from my job for years, so much so that I thought the pain on a daily basis was just normal and never the time to worry about it, until the sciatic/lower back pain started again. My husband stated I should go see Dr. Higgins and that he thought he was wonderful, professional and knew what he was doing!! Off I went early January because I couldn't deal any longer. First impression of his staff and Dr. Higgins; very professional, precise, friendly and personable. He consulted me, I received a verbal plan, which included initial x-rays to speak to problem areas (not just my sciatic/sacrum but my other issues too). He reviewed the x-rays with me and then he devised a thorough written plan to relieve me from the initial pain and suffering, and into rehabilitation chiropractic care which includes four detailed phases; "fixing the problem" which includes; Relief (Corrective), followed by Healing, Rehabilitation (Strengthening) and Sustainment. He also included working my arms/shoulder stemmed from my neck out of alignment causing all the muscle tightness in my shoulders and arm issues. Currently, I'm in the healing stage and can't tell you that I'm 100% better because there is so much we are working on. But I went from lower back/sciatic pain point of 9-10 to appx. a 2-3 now!! We have started most recently working more on my neck/shoulder/arm relief. There are some good days and bad days during this journey. It's getting better every day by following the 2-3 day per week adjustment/therapy visits, along with the "Back Care Instructions" they give you, the at home ice/therapy, at home exercises, at home neck/wedge treatments along with several doses of ice sessions on all the affected areas! YOU need to Love ICE besides Dr. Higgins!! Trust in me on this review and Trust in Dr Higgins! He is a good man along with his staff, they do generally care for your entire well being.
