I was going to write a more negative review, saying that it seemed a bit crazy for Paris's largest (?) health-food/natural-food/hippie-food store to only carry 3 types of gluten-free pasta. It seems that in the past few months, they have increased this to 6. Their selection of other gluten-free products seems a bit improved as well, though they still don't carry good gluten-free bread.
Some other products that gluten-free folks may be interested in:
- tamari (soy-only, no-wheat soy sauce) - yes, they have it
- agave (a natural sweetener) - yes, in squeeze bottles, even!
- yacon (another type of natural sweetener) - couldn't find it
- stevia (another alternative sweetener) - was out of stock
- arrowroot powder - yes, they do have it! Perhaps I missed it on the last few trips. It's in the back, on the right, near the bottom.
- gluten-free oats - couldn't find them. They have many types of oats, in the US oats are typically manufactured on the same equipment as wheat, making oats no longer gluten-free
Gluten-free flours:
- sarrasin / farine noir (buckwheat) - yes
- quinoa - yes
- teff (used to make injera) - yes
Some other great things you can find here are a wide selection of nut butters (mmm... cashew, almond, macadamia...), a decent selection of Asian foods, and various nutritional supplements. read more
