Not happy with this place... Charged me $50 for a no-show appointment that I thought was for a different day (same day, following week) and never received any reminders other than the voicemail they left 10 minutes after I was supposed to be there... They will say that a text message was sent however I have the phone records to prove that was not the case here... Called to explain the misunderstanding after receiving the bill in the mail (still thinking my appointment was the following week) only to be told that that was just the way it is and didn't seem to want to do anything to make the situation right... Joice even went as far as telling me over the phone, "We're talking in circles, there's nothing I can do."... This is just unacceptable customer service in my opinion and something I still find odd after reading all the positive reviews (big reason as to why I chose here in the first place)... I work in retail, dealing with customer interaction every day and something as simple as a miscommunication like this shouldn't lead to a non-returning customer... This is also unfortunate since the treatment I received actually did help, however even that part wasn't the most enjoyable... The adjustment went smooth, Dr. Kim definitely shared his knowledge rather then just adjusting me and sending me on my way which was appreciated. What didn't go so well was the acupuncture... I was left alone for 30 minutes with a heating blanket over me that was way too hot (Dr. Kim even confirmed this himself when he came back after the 30 minutes). This discomfort was then amplified after about 10 minutes in when the pain in my neck and shoulders (the reason I was there) started to flare up (laying on my stomach seemed to aggravate it). I then proceeded to try and get somebody's attention (calling out up to the point of actually yelling) with no response. I was never checked on in the 30 minutes I was left and this was also my first experience with acupuncture. If it were me, I might want to check on somebody to make sure everything was going smooth. I've dealt with a few different chiropractors, massage therapists, physical therapy, etc. and I have never been left alone for that long without at least a little check in to see how things are going... In conclusion like I said, the treatment received did in fact help, however every other aspect of it was not the most enjoyable unfortunately... read more

About a year before the pandemic, I began feeling large amounts of pain and discomfort in my arms and hands. Mainly from my elbow down to my hands, I felt things like: stinging pain, numbness and tingling, extreme tension and low mobility. Any sort of activity that involved the use of my hands, such as weight lifting, playing piano, or typing at the keyboard, would make these symptoms worse. As a result, I was forced to stop engaging in most of my favorite activities, as they all involved my hands and arms. I stopped programming, playing piano, playing video games, weight lifting, and folding origami. I consulted with four different doctors/physical therapists, and they all came up with different diagnosis and treatments for my symptoms. One physical therapist thought it might be golfer's elbow (tendonitis), and her treatment helped a little bit, but I still could not comfortably play the piano or anything of the sort. The treatment recommended by the other three doctors did not help whatsoever. The continued pain and discomfort as well as my inability to do any of the activities I used to enjoy caused my mental and physical health to gradually worsen. I continued to go to physical therapy for just over a year before deciding it was simply not helping. A family member recommended that I go to Dr. Kim's office for a consultation. I was dubious at first, having never heard anything concrete about what acupuncture is or what kind of scientific basis it has. But after having regular appointments for about 3 months, I noticed my symptoms had greatly improved. I was still in discomfort, but I was able to play piano again, even if only for 15 minutes at a time. I've been seeing Dr. Kim for almost a year now, and my symptoms of pain and numbness are almost completely gone. I can play piano regularly again and do work at my computer: both simple activities I was never grateful for until I lost the ability to do either. Dr. Kim was able to identify and fix problems in my arms that other doctors could not. Without his help, I don't think I would be where I am today. I would probably still be unable to use my hands and arms without constantly feeling pain. It may be a dramatic statement, but I feel like Dr. Kim helped me get my life back. I am currently being treated by Dr. Kim after someone rear ended my car which resulted in a total loss accident. I was not not only traumatized, but also had a mild concussion, and had aching and pain in my back, arm, and neck area. My first experience with acupuncture was with Dr. Kim. He was very kind and professional, a real genuine person. He was also very informative. I came into his office by recommendation, but let's be honest, not many would expect results from sticking hair-sized needles in their body, and I was one of those people. My only hope was to relieve the stiffness in my shoulders. However, I'm also someone who has suffered from migraines since I was a child. There was never a doctor who could help me, I've received IVs in the ER for their severity and gone home barely any better. I woke my husband up at 4 a.m. to take me to the hospital. My lower back pain was so bad I couldn't stand up and could barely walk. Saw my doctor the next day and they gave me pain pills and muscle relaxers. Two weeks later I went to physical therapy and the pain was even worse. Started with Doctor Kim in late November 2018 and saw him twice a week. I knew I was feeling better after the first few visits but wanted an MRI. My MRI showed two bulge discs and a nerve impingement. I continued my acupuncture as my lower leg was numb and very painful. Had to miss two weeks of acupuncture in December and started back. Kaiser is the worst in my line of work, and I don't accept referrals from them at all. I began acupuncture and chiropractic treatment at the Natural Healing Center after a car accident in Jan 2016 that had locked up my neck and upper back. Dr Kim was able to assess my needs quickly, helping to restore my range of motion and greatly reduce the pain after just a few months of twice weekly treatments. I continue maintenance treatments monthly as it helps to keep my body moving more fluidly. He has also helped me with a minor gastrointestinal issue and treated arthritis in my hand and knee. I was very skeptical about acupuncture and want sure if tHe benefits would be measurable. I wanted to try acupuncture as a way to combat high cortisol levels from my hormonal cancer. I have a hard time controlling my stress levels and find my body frequently suffers when I have unnecessary anxiety. My doctors wanted me to go on medication to help but I opted to try acupuncture first. After my first visit I felt like I had taken a sleeping pill or a bunch of CBD because I was so calm and relaxed naturally for the first time in years. Like many Americans, my insurance doesn't cover this type of care. With this knowledge, Natural Healing Center does offer a reasonable program for us. I find their no-insured fee program to be consistent with others across the US. I typically make an appointment for the same or following day with minimal schedule limitations. I have been seeing Dr. John Lee at Natural Healing Center for the last couple months. Other than using the tradition chiropractic technique, Dr. Lee also applies an unique technique which Chinese called "Gua Sha" to treat me. Gua Sha is a very unique technique which helps in relieve muscle pain and tightness. It is very rare to see in Portland area.
