We're big fans of Natural Grocers and stopped at this one during a recent road trip. It's so good to have one out this way. They have wonderful fresh organic produce and plenty of my favorite snacks, including lots of dairy free and gluten free options. This is a smaller location, but it's neat and clean. The staff are all great, they're very helpful and knowledgeable about their stock. I always walk away with more than I intended to buy! Highly recommended. read more

Cannot say enough good things about any Natural Grocer. The staff is helpful, they will order things if they can for you and they always have only organic produce. I love their beauty section as well, they also have lots of gift choices that are fun.. and usually have a selection of seeds and sprouting supplies. I am a frequent customer and very disappointed to be denied a discount when my NG app wouldn't open. Manager refused the discount. This is poor customer service in a bad economy with high-priced products. NG can do much better. read more

I have always had a great experience at Natural Grocers, Vitamin Cottage. Anytime I can't find something I have had no problem finding someone who will take me right to what I was looking for. As for the smell inside the store that others have complained about... Personally, I am extremely sensitive to smells. I walk in and take a deep breath because it's so calming and clean smelling. It's a fresh essential oil scent that is welcoming! I love walking in the door. I have shopped there for years and all of the people who work there have been extremely helpful and friendly. read more

Understand that the prices are higher because everything is organic & without junk fillers. Get over that & stop eating cheaper GMOs & artificial food substitutes. The staff is very helpful! I really want to love this store but it falls so flat. Produce isn't very fresh but is super expensive, bulk items are all prepackaged in plastic (you've got to fix that), and the N Power "rewards" program is super lame. 1,000 points and you get $1 off? What's the point of that program? By my estimation, it cost me $400-$500 to get those 1,000 points. I don't think I would have noticed how stingy this place was if they had just skipped this "reward" system. read more

On several occasions, I was left to bag two or more bags of groceries I was doing this as fast as I could, while the line grew and the cashiers just watched. She seemed irritated with my inexperience and pace. NG will not provide baggers. While I don't mind supplying my own bags and bagging , but when I am giving my money to a business where the employee get irritated with me and does nothing to help, I have conclude to avoid this. I will not buy more than a hand full of items at any Natural Grocers store, and wouldn't even do that if I had a choice. This means, after 12 years of shopping at NG, I'll drive to Colorado Springs and do my major shopping at Whole Foods or Kings locally. There, I can get profession courtesy and help bagging. I used to think, shopping at a natural food store was an opportunity to get away from the frantic world. I wanted to avoid leaving this review but the manager neglected to even acknowledge the email I sent. Apparently, the problem is systemic. Yes, the prices are lower here, but that is not a price I'm willing to pay for a bad experience. This is a game changer, and NG may not realize it until after much inconvenience and customer/revenue loss. read more

First of all this natural groceries has a very wonderful and friendly staff! They have every section as you expect, and a wonderful vitamin section! Given that it is among the smaller of Natural Grocers I've been to, it does still have good sections within it. There's a lot of local Colorado products at this store, fresh veggies, and a lot of bulk teas, spices, and nuts. At times, there are presentations about vitamins and beauty products. Also, look for the free samples in the beauty baskets (Dr. Bronner's, Giovanni brand, etc). Lots of good sale prices, and there are options throughout the year such as ordering your free range turkey for thanksgiving. Half of the parking lot has been repaved, and your cart will glide towards your car without any hassle. Remember to bring your own bag or boxes, though, as sometimes there are not enough boxes. read more

First off, this review is not meant to reflect on any products or employees. I have been shopping in this type of store since my childhood, and I am saddened that this is the only store of it's type in Pueblo. I am a breast cancer survivor, and desperately need the products in this store for my whole foods plant based diet, and I also juice organic veggies. Unfortunately the chemo left me with a sensitivity to scents, and this store reeks so bad, I can smell it in the parking lot when someone walks out the door before I even get to the entrance. I have only been there a handful of times in the past year, when I get desperate for items, and can't go up to Sprouts in CO Spgs. Trying to get items from the produce section whilst holding one's breath, is not an ideal shopping experience. Yesterday, by the time I bagged six items, and ran down an aisle for raw local honey, I started getting a stabbing pain in the side of my head. I forgot my reusable bags, so the cashier lays all my stuff to the side, and then just stares at me. I asked if they have a paper bag, and no, I have to purchase a bag for $.99, while she glares at me. They could alleviate the situation, by placing a wall with an air curtain between the grocery and vitamin/stinky section. Will not be back no matter how desperate I become. read more

I try to hit a natural/organic store any time I am traveling. I was told that this was the only such place in town. I was not disappointed! The store was large, brightly lit, clean, and incredibly well stocked. The prices were better than whole foods. In checkout, I was told that there were no bags, and that I could buy a reusable bag or use one of the many cardboard boxes they had. What a cool concept! Definitely worth a trip! read more

I have always loved shopping at Natural Grocers before and after retiring from the USPS in Denver and moving to Pueblo. Seems like there is little understanding of the term "Supply and Demand" in the store's grocery dept. Even with the new store opening there are still the same items constantly out of stock with other items over flowing on the shelves that do not sell as quickly. Popular items like Zola expresso coconut water get discontinued after being told it will be brought back after the new store opens providing more room, but that never happened. Albertson's said to say thanks as it brought them a lot of new customers trying to obtain it again. Grocery dept. does not seem to appreciate a customer buying more than a couple of the same item on a shelf (been snapped at for it) and never will offer to special order anything you constantly can not find in stock and ask about. I used to spend around $300-$500 in there every first of the month but for the last 6 months I've been spending most of that at the Natural Grocers in Colorado Springs where they are just as friendly as all the other stores in Denver were. Ordering more of what always sells out quickly would increase profits...just saying. read more

Giving this review a low score is due to miss leading information about returns and an ill mannered manager lacking perception of a bad situation. This store is miles away from me and I did like shopping here. Unfortunately, I didn't know anything about their return policy until today. It was closing time on the 3rd of this month when I purchased vitamins close to forty dollars, One of them contains borax which is not good for high blood pressure. The guy who helped me with it, told me I can bring them back for a full refund, both bottles. Number 1, I live with pain through the years so for that reason I spend the extra money I had. Due to finding out about the borax, only one from each bottle is missing, Arnold the manager has a bad attitude. Seems titles blind a person beyond reason. Okay, I didn't know about return policies nor could I see it without glasses as the rude manager told me. I took the word of the employee who helped me. The guy is an ok person but pleas know your advice does not match policies. I have every receipt but that one. Out of respect for the employees to do whatever they do to close up shop, I rushed myself to go leaving it on the counter, I'm known by a few that was there who saw me paying, It doesn't make any difference. Be careful in what you buy and know only ONE idem is allowed only with receipt. I seldom return what I buy, and never had any problem in returning as long as I had my drivers lic. All in all, it is a nice store and most employees are nice and understanding. read more

More selection than I've ever seen in one place. It's not to fancy and I like that a lot. Very helpful and friendly staff. They are knowledgeable and patient every time. If you can't find it here it's not available. They have the normal things you would expect to find at any natural store but so much more. Tinctures for anything and they all are top quality. Foods and herbal extracts drinks. U name it. Highly recommend if for nothing more than just to look around. read more

looks like a bargain basement. smells funny when you walk in. not a great selection of produce and what is offered looks old and shriveled. all they have going for them is the vitamins that you can find anywhere else in the Pueblo area. read more

The problem with this store is their ridiculously poor customer service. I shop there several times a week, so I really don't know why I'm surprised every time a cashier doesn't connect with customers, and or ask how they can help - and then really do it. Like call for back-up (which is what happened today, prompting this review). There was a line of three people, behind the person checking out. And only one cashier. The cashier just took her time, didn't acknowledge the line. And didn't call over to the girl making peanut or almond butter - an ongoing task that can wait. She is also a cashier. So I went and asked her to help. She then asked the cashier on the register if she needed help, and the cashier told her "no." OK. Then when I finally moved up the line, the cashier acts all nicey-nice. I told her, you should have called for back-up. She replied that she didn't need to. And then there was the day a few weeks ago when I returned something and needed to get a replacement. At NG, customers are told to return the item to a cashier first - then go and shop and come back through the line. But I had no other shopping. I just wanted to see if the other Burt's Bees Lip Shimmers could be retracted, back into the little tube after use. The one I bought couldn't. That was the problem with it. They get all squishy when you have to push the lip color back in with your finger. Well, I handed the woman my receipt and the product and she returned my money, She said I could go and get another one. When I got back to the register, she was gone! Zap. Disappeared. I looked around and there she was at that peanut butter grinder, behind a counter across the room, barely visible. I just asked for my receipt back. No more Burt's Bees Lip Shimmer for me. She just pointed to the counter and told me to look over there for it. What?? She acted like I was supposed to know that. The staff's minds seem to be entirely too focused on getting those products on the shelf, like they have a fear that they stop to engage with a customer, or - dare I say - exhibit a bit of joy - they will be in deep doodoo. One male worker who acts as though he actually likes his job and the customers is Rain. There are a few others who excel, but on the whole, they need to know that customers want to be waited on in a joyful, connected way. With a little pizzazz, maybe. A glimmer of welcome. Maybe they should go and visit Trader Joe's. read more

I've shopped at this store for the last time. I purchased two packages of Natural Grocers private label Italian Blend shredded cheese less than one week ago. I opened one of the packages as I was making homemade pizza this past Sunday only to find the entire package of cheese was moldy. The expiration date on the package was in October, 2020. When I went back to the store today for my weekly grocery run I showed the package of moldy cheese to the checkout clerk, and I asked for a store credit against my present purchase. She asked if I had my receipt, and I told her "No, I don't typically save my receipts." The clerk informed me that NG changed its return policy this past March and will not accept returned merchandise without the store receipt reflecting the subject item purchased. Please remember: this product was a private label product I could not purchase anywhere other than at NG, and the expiration date was in October, 2020. The clerk was very apologetic and obviously was embarrassed, but she could not change the policy. My wife had a similar experience about a year ago with a similar result. On average we spend approx. $600 per month at NG. No more. We're very health conscious and try to support smaller retailers. However, NG's customer service, on balance, is extremely poor. I sincerely hope another organic grocer chooses to open in Pueblo because there are many NG customers who are tired and weary of the NG experience. Very sad indeed. Please explain to me how it makes sense to alienate good customers over a ridiculous return policy. read more

If you are looking for customer service, this is your place. Literally every employee that I walked by greeted me with a hello and asked if they could help me in a manner that was genuine. The store is like a local, mini version of Whole Foods. Since I was just in town for work, I picked up a few things including some local made gluten free crackers. I love that this is a chain native to Colorado; it's also the only natural/health food store in Pueblo. Some of the prices are the same or cheaper than Whole Foods or the natural sections at King Soopers, Publix, etc. However, some prices are outrageous in comparison to those same stores. I'd say do some comparison shopping before buying your whole list here. The produce is all fresh and locally sourced, but you won't find as much as you would at Whole Foods. The vitamin/supplement side of the store is about the same size as the grocery side, which is nice; the selection is great. The store does not supply grocery bags, so you will need to bring your own or purchase reusable bags in the store; they do have bins of cardboard boxes near the front of the store if you would like to use those instead. read more
