Birth proof during newborn exam - few hours after birth & bonding time .
Ivette G.

My experience with Natural Birthworks was completely positive & I was able to bring to the world a healthy baby boy as a water birth at the birth center. There's so much to learn as a first time mom having an unmedicated birth & I was provided with all the resources and people so I could take control of my pregnancy and birth. The interactions did not feel transactional like they did at my OB so I transferred my care to the birth center at about 6 months pregnant. This facility resonated more with me and my desired outcome than going through a hospital birth plus the expense & stress was something I wanted to avoid. If you ask questions and read the documents, it explains the cost and risks since not everyone may be the best candidate for natural birth should complications or other things arise. I knew the risks and I did my diligence to learn as much as possible using all the resources shared and their undivided attention so I could stay as healthy as possible to achieve this goal. Every appt was about an hour - hour and a half and the assistants as well as Gelena and Sandy always took their time answering all my questions and giving me advise throughout my pregnancy. I received 3 virtual educational classes, lots of information , access to their mommas group chat and I have additional visits after the birth for follow up care. For my labor, I did hire a doula (birth coach) who had given birth by the same midwife I had - this was extremely beneficial because with the partnership of my doula, midwife, the assistants I was able to learn and understand the birthing process as everything progressed. I'm still learning and I feel like I've been in the best hands. I was treated with so much care, patience, & respect by everyone at the center & my son has been showered with so much love. I am so thankful and grateful for this experience. I absolutely recommend the team at this birth center.

My miracle before being incubated again. Fighting for his life.

Expecting Mothers PLEASE PLEASE listen. I beg you. The horror stories with these people are real. This place is NOT for you. Do not give them the benefit of the doubt. I did and almost died and almost lost my infant. They believe in the money more than your health and the birth of your child. I received more calls about payments than my care. The two midwives galina and sandy saw abnormalities on my ultrasound and did NOT concur with a specialist. They didn't check the box on the ultrasound referral. Now I am left with a special need child that barely survived. They accused me for not resting (ignored me when I said I'm bleeding to much) and called me about a UTI. NEVER ONCE DISCUSSING THE POSSIBILITIES OF THE OUTCOME of the abnormalities of the ultrasound. They were too busy making sure payments were made. They run a business I get it but the point of going to a midwife is for the personal experience. I should have went to women's clinic, I would have gotten better care. I almost died twice from my emergency c-section (from bleeding out). They had to do another surgery 3 days later. My baby almost did not survive. He is a severe IGUR preemie and we spent 6 months in the hospital. My life is now about countless doctor's visits and a sick baby every week. I was fired from my job because I do not have child care to care for my medically disabled infant and I'm always at the doctors office. This could have been prevented if I was told when this was found at 18-20 weeks. Opposing to emailing me, texting me and calling me about payments. I trusted these midwives with my life and the life of my unborn child and left with heart break. Depression. No job. And a child that get fed through a tube and countless medical needs. If you have a story contact me Mrsdownsbrown@yahoo.com This establishment will be stopped.

Just like the other reviews I feel completely scammed of my money and experience I felt like this was all about the transaction and nothing of being a women's woman. Unlike other women getting into this field because midwifery is a true passion, being a sister to witness lucky enough to witness this amazing rite of passage in any women's life, it was far from that. Everything on the outside looked great the office seemed nice the staff was accommodating at first but what first struck me as off was that I didn't even get to have a consult in person or talk to anyone till I paid the money up front and signed a bunch of BS paperwork that was impossible to even get back closer to the end. I chose Gelena Hinsky as who I would help guide me to having the birth I had always wanted or at least hoped for, mistake number two. Once the money was sent it was all downhill from there, Gelena never went over the paperwork with me which is something that absolutely should be a protocol I am a first time mom and it's scary the unknown and asking me things on this BS paperwork I had no idea what any of it even meant, nothing was went over or explained. Everything was so quick and my office visits felt so much like doctors appointments, Gelena was really not attentive and just seemed like this was just her job and she was doing just that, they claim to be holistic and what not but that's all a front I don't even think they look into anything they give you in the milestone bags were all crap, like liquid iv and a bunch of other horrible junk stuff that people who do actual research and live a certain lifestyle would never take. The care I was given felt half assed and just every appointment I went to I felt less and less of a connection with the midwife I chose Gelena. Me and my partner felt the same way that the experience was just so off and to choose someone to be there and witness this rite of passage for a women in her most vulnerable state giving birth to her child, the miracle of life you would think that they must have a passion for this otherwise why do it, but not Gelena. This was like going into any office and was like meeting with any healthcare provider, no connection no passion for the craft and not being a sister at all. I was showing very small and was sent by Gelena to see an ultrasound tech to see what was going on, wouldn't you think being a midwife and being there for your fellow women you would be there for her during the scary time and be on top calling and asking how I was or anything just keeping up with me..Nope! I was showing smaller and smaller every other ultrasound appointment and Gelena never thought it was necessary to reach out and be on top of the ultrasound appointments so she can review them and tell me what she thought..ya NOPE again! I would go in with my partner to our appointments and Gelena would just have no idea what was going on with me it was just so disappointing and having me to be the one to call and have to have them faxed right then and there wasting our appointment times on calling the offices as if paying her to do this was not enough she would run through it and just tell me eat more drink more and boom office visits were over. Every blood draw Gelena wouldn't go over much with me it was just in and out eat more drink more BS until I had a very scary ultrasound appointment where my amniotic fluid was significantly low so the ultrasound tech doctor on call gives my midwife a call showing the concern and luckily for Gelena that meant even less work to deal with. She called me that day and told me pretty much pack a bag and just go to the hospital and whatever he says just do that..super holistic right..it was an absolute nightmare because I wanted my homebirth I didn't want to do testing or go the hospital, she gave me no comfort she just passed me off to the hospital and never once check on me and asked me do you need help understanding. Me and my partner were there left helpless with no one to turn to till 3 am when we both trusted our guts and went with my intuition not to listen anyone and focus in on baby. The hospital wanted to induce me and I rightfully declined because I was 36 weeks and wanted my baby to grow as much as possible to come out healthy.

She has been great throughout my entire pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. She has always been available to answer questions, no matter what day of the week or what time. From that first meeting, I knew I wanted the P3 ladies to be a part of my home birth experience, and I am SO glad I chose them. I switched my care to P3 at 20 weeks, so after experiencing rushed, impersonal OB visits that lasted less than 5 minutes each time, spending an hour or more with Gelena at each visit was a refreshing change. Her care for my nutrition, well being, and our baby's well being was awesome. As my due date came closer, we worked together to work through my low iron issues and my birth experience was just amazing. Between Gelena, Shannon, and my doula Dawna, they kept me sane, and I know I would not have been able to make it at home with any other team in place. They monitored me and my daughter constantly, and I got the safe home water birth I'd dreamed of. Our daughter arrived into the world 2 weeks ago, healthy, and her pediatrician is amazed at how mature, alert and healthy she is. I know this is a testament to the way she came into the world. I have also recovered great thanks to the wonderful care I received. This experience has been amazing, and I highly recommend P3 midwifery care to anyone desiring a home birth. As a side note, we also took the Childbirth classes with P3, and really enjoyed them and learned a LOT . I am not sure what the previous reviewer had a problem with, but they are NOT expensive, and are a great value for the charge. We would recommend them as well. We also took the Breastfeeding 101 class with Sandy, which was extremely informative also. These ladies also provide low cost maternity care for women in need. So, if you want to support an amazing group of women who have the best intentions and really care about their clients and the community, become a part of this group!

My husband and I came to TGP just for information on hospital birth and ended up being blessed in so many ways by the employees there. After meeting and becoming informed by Michelle, one of the owners, we decided to hire a doula in order to have assistance during the birth of our first baby. Their doula services come at different prices in order to ensure that everyone from varying financial backgrounds can have access to this vital service. Our doula, Florencia, was a rock for us during the birth. She kept me focused and ensured that I got the birth that I wanted for baby and me. All the doula services come with access to three very informative classes. Take advantage of these and their very knowledgeable team! We learned so much and met other families going through this experience. It was wonderful. I can't say enough and express how grateful I am to these ladies. They made the community real for me when I didn't think it possible. I had arranged to have the two female doctors at the practice I used be available to assist my birth. The day I went into labor, my doctor and her backup became unavailable. Leaving me to their male doctor who had been particularly unkind to me at previous visits. I was a wreck laboring thinking he would be at the delivery. My doula contacted the owners at TGP and they made magic happen. Through their help I was seen and had my baby delivered at the hospital by an amazing midwife. My situation may not be common but their assistance was amazing and made the community of women empowering child birth real to me. It goes without saying my husband and I couldn't be more grateful for their services. Our little baby boy was born healthy, naturally, and drug free this past May.

I walked in on a tuesday afternoon it was quiet and as soon as you walked in you could smell that someone was baking something delicious maybe cookies or pastries, im not sure now. But the smell really reflected how the beautifully quaint it was inside. It felt like i was coming home. Once inside I was greeted by Tamara. (On of the owners) who asked if i needed assistance i explained about my interest in milk donation and she handed me a pamphlet she explained to me how the process works and what i needed to do in order to get in contact with the milk bank to get screened. She could tell i was curious about this place so she proceeded to tell me about the many wonderful classes and services that are offered and invited me to their play group. I was a bit shy so i didn't go. I did how ever get in contact with the milk bank and started preparing my bags to be dropped off. About a month later i came back this time i met grethel and michelle they were very surprised and happy to see the milk i brought and they both saw i was having a hard time carrying my then 18lb 4 month old in the car seat so they took me to their store pea pod essential (which resides inside of the gathering place) and there.... At that very moment i fell in love with Babywearing. Since then i have attended classes, group discussions, events, and even hired michelle as a doula with my second pregnancy. (Very successful VBAC) i couldn't begin to say how happy i am that i have found this place. It has truly been my support system and positive influence in my life. I recommend this place to everyone who is looking for a more natural and sustainable way of life for their growing families.

Finding them and getting to travel the journey of pregnancy and delivery in their care will forever be one of the great blessings of my life. Elizabeth is extraordinary. We wanted to have an experience birthing our son that felt natural and with as little intervention as possible and we had just that. At every step Elizabeth had the perfect answer for any question or concern that I brought to her or stories of friends birthing issues that I was concerned about. She was easily able to express how she would handle those moments if we found ourselves there. Throughout the pregnancy she was relaxed and gave us all the information to make the decisions we needed to make without making us feel stressed or imposed upon. We laughed at every visit and looked forward to seeing them all even though it was a 35 minute drive from our home in Jupiter! From my very first call, when Tiffany answered, she was full of helpful information and that's remained true to this day. Everyone goes above and beyond. It is nothing like an experience you would have at a doctor's office where the wait times are long and they have you in and out quickly. The service is so personalized it's truly amazing. My mom could never get over how long Elizabeth spent with us at each check up. If we have more children it will definitely be with them and I highly recommend it to any mama looking to bring baby into the world in a most loving and tender but also intelligent and safe environment!

Palms Birth House made all the difference in the world. We can't say enough how (1) personal and friendly the front office staff was (they know your name when you call and are INCREDIBLY responsive!) (2) how patient and kind Elizabeth, the midwife, was at every visit (she spends as much time with you as you need, there's no rush to get you out the door) and (3) how professional and calm Elizabeth was during our fast-middle of the night-on a holiday-home birth. I enjoyed being near her. My husband and I just knew she was the one! Take the time to meet her and if she is the one, you may just know it! She spoke very openly to us; very tell-it-how-it-is. She is exactly the strong woman energy I felt I needed near me during birth. I was new to the area and had little resources. She was able to point me in directions I never knew to ask. This is invaluable. She knows the area very well and has the experience as a doula that made me feel comfortable. We were planning a HBAC (home birth after cesarean). My 2 1/2 year old daughter would be there also. It was very important that we found the right person to be support for my husband and daughter also. She was the one. My daughter grew very fond of her leading up to birth. She looked forward to our visits. I could be at ease with my daughter's position during birth with her support. Dawna helped us make our plan possible. Leading up to birth, Dawna was a constant resource. I looked forward to our visits and felt like she was my personal cheerleader. I really needed that! She knew I could do it all along. This was my second birth, and unlike my first one, I felt like everything flowed with all my plans and wishes respected. Everyone there was valuable. Dawna just did exactly what needed to be done while I was in "labor land". She gave me the encouragement I needed and took a load off my husbands shoulders. She brought me drinks with a straw without being asked. She was like an amazing birth angel. Her energy is very calm, strong/confident, go with the flow, and on point! I'm obviously very happy and would hire her again. Right after birth, she made sure I was comfortable and fed. My 2 year old couldn't wait to see her again. We all looked forward to her postpartum visit. There's a reason why she is so experienced and adored by her clients.

Specially as we navigated first time parenthood. We just had our second baby (natural delivery) and we're lucky to have Dawna again as part of our birth team, including her doula services. I can only describe her as the whole package: unique, invaluable, knowledgeable, dedicated, intuitive, resourceful, multifaceted, gifted, flexible, encouraging, fun and all around indispensable. My husband describes her as "heavy artillery" as in "call in the very best!" Though I have the greatest husband and my phenomenal sister was supporting us, all of us agree the experience would have been significantly different without Dawna. She truly has a calling which we were lucky to experience in both types of birth settings.
