Boca Midwifery IS the place to go for childbirth. This is what women's care should feel like and be like. Summarized version: I had my dream birth, VBAC, with an amazing team of women -- Courtney and Nikki (2-for-1 haha). I came here like many others for a chance at a VBAC (vaginal birth after c section). I live in Davie and decided that a 35 min drive would be worth it for my pregnancy! After my first daughter's prenatal care and birth, convenience was no longer worth it to me. -- For my second birth, I wanted to do things differently. The first thing I needed to do was hire a doctor. So, I went with the most recommended doctor to me in Broward for VABCS, Dr. Skeete, and I'm glad it didn't work out, then met with "Dr" Anghel in Weston (see my review on him), third I met with Boca Babes (good contender) and lastly met with Boca Midwifery and they blew me away! I started my visit with Dr. Nicole Tenzel and she was SO sweet and caring. I didn't feel like a number. She actually listened to my story and my wishes. We had a few more visits and I was looking forward to the rest... however, my heart was set on midwives but I didn't know if I'd be able to because of type 1 Diabetes... (considered high risk). Then, I received a message that Dr. Tenzel would no longer be at the office (by the time my baby would be born) due to a state move. I would need to meet with Dr . Lubetkin. I was a little scared due to a few reviews I read, so I brought my husband to the visit since he has a pretty good judgement of character for people. We visited with him and he too was great! His daughter is a T1D and is not scared of pregnancy and diabetes...however, my heart was still set on Midwifery. I then received a message from my birth photographer, Paulina Splechta (look her up) and she felt she needed to nudge me to inquire about working with Courtney because she believed I would love her and my birth.... So I made the call and my next appointment was set. I was super excited to meet with Courtney. The day came and She was SO kind to me, listened to my story, my needs and concerns and then gave it to me straight -- she would need to have a conversation with the rest of the team (midwives) to see if they felt comfortable managing me with my diabetes and if any complications arose, Dr. lubetkin would take over. I waited weeks for the call and apparently I missed it, but then I found a voicemail and it said that they agreed to seeing me. I felt such a sense of relief I met with Ryan and Nikki afterwards and honestly... you can't just choose 1. They're all amazing in their own way. I felt comfortable with all 3. Unfortunately the high risk doctor recommended induction before 40 weeks, my blood pressure had been running a little higher than normal (I wasn't checking it at home) and so I agreed to getting checked at the hospital. Nikki had a conversation with me with what felt like a friend / mother talking to me. Not a condescending doctor fearing me into compliance. The hospital checked me in and with delays and stuff... we decided to move forward with induction. Everything was fine with me (we found out after the delays) but we decided to stay and have my baby! After my water broke, everything moved VERY fast and I ended up with both Courtney and Nikki. Courtney is a rockstar. She handles herself so confidently and she knows what she's doing and allows others to support you and doesn't mind getting "dirty". She did cover her bases when things were looking aloof with my baby's heart rate and had the doctor on call at the room.... But, we changed positions 5 times to find one my baby liked and allowed her to descend and turn. My first birth only had 2-3 position changes and straight to a c-section it went. At the finish line when I was regretting not having an epidural, she reminded me WHY I chose that route and that was so powerful to be reminded of. Thank you! Nikki was such a cheerleader the whole time! She was so motivational to me and reminded me that I was made for this. If you've read this far --- they're a dream team if you can get more than 1! Midwife means - "with woman". 3 years ago I gave birth at Boca Raton Regional Hospital with Boca Midwifery and Midwife Ryan attended my birth (though she was not the midwife scheduled to be there). Verbatim Ryan said she was "so tired she couldn't see straight", "working 24 hrs was the new hangover" and that I was her "last birth of her shift and she couldn't wait to go sleep". During labor and delivery she was not supportive (her choice of words, actively dismissing my researched and scientifically backed requests) or professional (blamed a nurse for a medication dosage she herself instructed me to take and inaccurate notes both in the hospital and out). After my birth and her stitching me while "hungover from working 24 hrs" and verbalizing "I can't see" (and then doing nothing about it) I was left with permanent physical and nerve damage- Confirmed by multiple OBGYNs, Neurologists and one of the countries best Pelvic Surgeons. At my 6 week appointment I mentioned something was wrong with me and was brushed off. I did get a text from Ryan apologizing for my "bad experience". I knew the day I birthed my son that my life would change, I never expected for it to be something like this. Ryan thanked me for "not being her first emergency section" then thanked herself "for saving me". Ryan ruined my life. The reality is that without intervention I can't have sex, can't carry a pregnancy, and can't even sit comfortably. Because of this, my marriage, job, and the ability to enjoy intimacy have been effected...Not to mention the financial strain of over $100,000 in medical care I am still receiving due to the "husband stitch" I didn't ask for, consent to, or even know I received. I should have stood up for myself from the second she said she was that tired but I trusted she was "with woman" To the women who had positive experiences, I am glad you were safe and supported. For the people who have met me in the real world and asked my opinion on this practice, I tried to protect you and in turn protected them ... and I am so so sorry. read more

one of the worst experiences i have went through at this office. With 4 midwives never working together i felt like i had to lead every office visit with a list of questions. upon delivery, none were available except the DOCTOR LUBETKIN and the boca raton regional nurses. who put me on a lethal dose of pitocin(level 16) and abused the shit out of me. As my nervous system couldnt handle anymore the nurse wouldnt let me get off the medication until i screamed, cried and demanded to get off of it. The nurse doubled my pitocin level and almost hurt my baby. THE CRAZY sick is that I had to be induced because cholestasis- a irritated liver from their hebral prep supplements THEY recommended! (sheet in their office) Heard horrible things about ryan and i only met her once. I didn't enjoy the uneducated mouth and wrong blood test work. she really isnt professional. id just run from this office as i just heard all of them quit except the one midwive that did the worst job! EEEK! atleast she gets her lips done! LMAO. read more

This is our second child and unfortunately we made a mistake in choosing Boca midwifery again. Several of the midwives have quit the practice and they are severely understaffed as a result. This resulted in weeks and weeks of pointless voicemails and unreturned phone calls in attempts to schedule our prenatal care. Zero response no matter how hard we tried which caused lengthy gaps in the prenatal care that we received. Instead of owning up to their mistakes and scheduling us appropriately, they decided that they were going to discharge us from their care without so much as a phone call. To justify this they fabricated a complete lie that we had refused to accept care. Not true. As nonsensical as this is, they continued to insist on this absurdity and have refused to provide care for my wife. We're not talking about an oil change on your car - this is prenatal care that we are talking about which is of vital importance. One of their two remaining midwives is Ryan- a woman who has no business dealing with anything having to do with prenatal care. She presents herself as a midwife but the reality is that she is on a power trip which results in complete lack of professionalism and demonstrates her severe lack of experience. She flatly refuses to take any responsibility for any of her mistakes and instead arrogantly focuses on personal differences of opinion and personal attacks. it's very important to note that Boca midwifery provided an acceptable level of care for our first child - it was not spectacular and had several bumps along the road, but in the end it was acceptable which is why we went with them for our second child. This time it's been a total disaster and has caused significant stress for my wife; all this due to a grossly negligent unprofessional and uncaring staff at Boca midwifery. Take my advice: stay away from this practice at all costs- especially Ryan. It's falling apart at the seams and their complete lack of prenatal care and appalling service proves it. read more

AVOID Dr. Woodbury is by far the most unprofessional, aggressive, dishonest, and underqualified doctor I've ever seen. She should be ashamed of how she treats people--she gives doctors a bad name. A good doctor should be compassionate, understanding, calm, and knowledgeable in their field. They should offer real treatment options, not fake diagnoses and strange comments. Sadly, she fails in all of these areas. She made me feel unsafe and extremely uncomfortable during my first visit. The way she spoke to me and what she said, was unacceptable, irrational and honestly left me feeling traumatized. After that, I came back to complete the blood work that was started at the first visit and shortly after I let her office know I didn't want to continue as a patient and asked for a refund for a membership I never intended to use. They refused to provide the full refund, instead offering $200 to be refunded. I said that I did not feel like it was not a proper resolution. Then, out of nowhere, I received a rude and hostile email from Dr. Woodbury herself, even though I had never contacted her directly. Her email was unprofessional and full of disrespectful language and false accusations, which only confirmed how poorly she handles things. Honestly it seemed psychotic. She even went as far as making up a letter claiming I was threatening and disrespectful--which is simply not true and I have emails proving I was not. She basically attempted to slander me. In my opinion, her behavior is not just unprofessional but also potentially harmful. I've reported my experience to the state Medical Board to help protect other patients from going through the same thing. Please look elsewhere for care. read more

I transferred care to Nikki at 28 weeks after not feeling supported by my OB for my desire for a natural birth. My water broke at almost 34 weeks and I was so worried I wouldn't get the birth I wanted. Courtney was on call that week and helped me understand my options. She was such a calming presence throughout the whole process and multiple days in the hospital. Despite the circumstances, we were able to achieve the unmedicated birth I wanted! I am so thankful for Courtney, Nikki, and the whole Boca Midwifery team - the care that they provide is unmatched! My baby is spending some time in the NICU because he came early, and I appreciate that Courtney and Nikki have stopped us in the halls to ask how he is doing. We live about an hour away and it's so worth the drive. I'm looking forward to working with them for any future pregnancies! read more

Avoid this doctor by all means!!! My wife & I chose doctor David Lubetkin to be her OB-GYN for our first baby. He delivered our baby in January of this year. My wife had a lot of complications that he was aware of. Her 6 week postpartum appointment on February 23rd. This appointment was scheduled right after she gave birth. My wife started to feel severe pain in her breast a day before the appointment, and we called doctor Lubetkin to let him know and he said it's probably mastitis (infection in the breast), prescribed her antibiotics and advised to still come to her postpartum appointment the next day. We arrived at the appointment on time, we were asked to be seated after completing the check in process with the receptionist. A few minutes later, a nurse called my wife's name from across the room, and loudly announced that my wife has COVID symptoms and that the doctor is refusing to see her. We explained to the nurse that my wife does not have any COVID symptoms and that she had tested negative prior. We also stated that doctor Lubetkin was aware of her symptoms and asked her to keep her appointment as scheduled. We also explained that she cannot announce this publicly in front of everyone for privacy reasons. The nurse apologized and asked us to come inside to see the doctor. Usually there is a routine check up every time we visit the doctor such as taking blood pressure, weight, urine sample, but this time none of that took place. The nurse showed us to the room and walked out without even instructing my wife to change or anything which we found to be odd. After a few minutes, Doctor Lubetkin storms in the room alone (which is never the case, there is always a nurse accompanying him) and while slamming the door very aggressively he shouts and his first words , in a manner unfit for a medical setting " you're not even undressed?".... Dr. Lubetkin approached my wife in a hostile manner, stood right in front of her face(less than 1 foot away) and screamed "you cannot do this to my medical team! get undressed right now!" My wife and I were in complete shock. She instantly began to cry and asked him "why are you talking to me like this?" I was standing right next to my wife and I told the doctor that he can't act this way, but he ignored me completely and then stormed out of the room right after throwing something on the counter. I followed him to tell him what he is doing is wrong and unethical. He did not bother to respond or apologize which made me resort to calling 911. The police arrived and the officer came in and investigated the incident and reported everything. My wife has been going through so much postpartum and after seeing this behavior from the doctor that delivered her baby she was crying nonstop and hyperventilating. This doctor's outrageous and hostile behavior made us feel very unsafe and uncomfortable. This is not someone who has empathy towards his recovering patients. My wife is very affected by Doctor Lubetkin's recent behavior, which has caused so much emotional distress on top of all the stuff she has to deal with in postpartum.We left the doctor's office without being examined for my wife's complication or for her postpartum check up. Again, I am writing this to let everyone know of our extremely negative experience with Doctor David Lubetkin, OB-GYN of Boca Midwifery. This incident is still unbelievable and we can not grasp what happened till this day. I would not recommend this doctor to anyone!! read more

So I wanted to come on postpartum and update my experience. Dr. Lubetkin successfully delivered my twins without a c-section. He is a very skilled doctor and I'm pretty sure he saved my second twins life during delivery. It was a pretty eventful delivery and this could have gone very wrong with an inexperienced doctor or someone who didn't have the quick reaction that Doctor Lubetkin had. He stayed until I delivered at 8pm something in the evening the day before he was supposed to go on vacation which I also greatly appreciated. The staff could not be friendlier and Dr. Tenzel who was the doctor on working during my recovery came to check up on me in the hospital and answered all of my postpartum questions. I really could not be happier with this office and I am forever grateful for the safe delivery of my twins without having to be cut open! read more

I can truly say I had a pain free delivery as promised by Courtney. All of my needs and concerns were addressed promptly and compassionately which made for a relaxing delivery. I can't say enough about Courtney, Polina and the rest of the team. I had a previous birth that left me physical and emotional trauma. I looked long and hard for a team that would allow me to birth as if I was home but at the hospital so they could jump in if needed. Courtney had the patience, compassion, and experience to take on my tall order. The L&D floor was quiet as this was summer 2020. But due to COVID restrictions i was not allowed to have a Doula this role around. This birth was only 4 hours and SO INTENSE. Courtney saw me struggling and didn't leave my side!!!!! She jumped in to squeeze, massage me and softly repeat the most beautiful birth affirmation: "you've done this before, you'll do it again." I LOVE YOU COURTNEY!!!!! I had the birth I dreamed of! But their nurses/staff is terrible they always have an attitude, never call in medications, and hang up on you when you're trying to make an appointment or ask why hasn't your medication been called in. I've been trying to reach them all day and all i've got was rude remarks and been hung up on. Get better staff. read more

Where do I begin? Let's just say that I was blessed with two angels for my pregnancy and delivery. I was in the best hands imaginable. During my pregnancy they always took the time to listen to me and understand my birth plan. I went into labor with absolute zero fear, and my birth couldn't have gone better as planned. I am childbirth doula and Courtney is one of my favorite (if not my favorite) midwives to work with! She is kind, patient, knowledgeable and caring. I have had a few births with her last year and already one this year and look forward to many more. I HIGHLY recommend her to ALL moms.. first time moms, vbacs, moms wanting an all natural births, moms wanting to work with doulas, you name it, she can accommodate you! I honestly can't say enough amazing things about these two phenomenal Midwives. The only regret I have is that I didn't hire them for my own birth 3 years ago. I found out they did not take my insurance, and I so regret not going out of networking and using them for my birth. Courtney McMillian and Polina Goldenberg are the most amazing CNMs I have ever met. I work as a birth photographer, and 99% of my clients hire this midwife practice for their prenatal care and birth. They are backed up by an amazing OBGYN who completely supports their very experienced clinical judgement and is a huge proponent of natural childbirth. These midwives have the 3rd lowest c/section rate in south Florida! And that is saying a lot considering south Florida has the highest c/section rates in the country. They are incredibly natural and gentle with their approach, along with years of experience working with ALL moms. I have seen them flawlessly deliver babies of VBAC patients and even women attempting a vbac after two cesareans. If their patient needs an emergency c/section they always accompany them into the operating room to ensure their patient has a supported experience. I have seen these midwives committed to their patients, often sitting with them for hours. Having worked with so many doctors and providers across the state of Florida, these midwives would be my #1 choice if my husband and I ever have another baby. She spends as much time as you need with her, is incredibly thorough in making sure you are prepared for your big day but also reassures you that everything will be fine. I was pregnant with my second child when I met Nikki. Already having an amazing experience with Courtney on my first pregnancy I was confident Nikki would make me feel just as comfortable. She was incredible. So personable and easy to talk to during all of my visits prior to birth. I enjoyed coming in to see her and talk about how I was feeling. When it came time to going into the hospital Nikki came in to check on us right away! It took me an entire day to dilate and it felt like she never left my side. Always coming in to check on me and the baby. Making sure we were comfortable. Push time came and she was amazing! Encouraging me through every contraction. And finally she handed me a healthy baby boy. I would recommend her to any first time mommy because her care level is above the charts.
