Ordered the energy smoothie that consisted of primarily citrus fruits. Very sugary, but tasty nonetheless.

Also seasoned well and crispy with its breading. For the Burgers, veggie burger was not bad. Maybe too many ingredients? But overall solid and definitely not a placeholder for vegetarians. The classic burger is as you expect. Veggies are crispy but patty is average. Burger buns can be hard depending on if the worker forgets to leave it under the panini press too long. Only complaint I have is the service. I think things are made to order, which is fine---but it is very slow. Don't depend on grabbing a quick bite here before your flight.

Located on the 2nd Floor of the Venice Marco Polo Airport (VCE) was the Homeburger Beer & Food Lounge. As I had ample time to roam around before my departure flight, I came across this beer and burger place as a primer to my impeding arrival back to the U.S.. Certainly the furthest from my mind was this type of food with so many other international fare more pertinent to the area, but the words "onion rings" caught my attention and pulled me in like the Death Star's tractor beam! Would I seek this business again if I were to fly from this terminal again!?: PURCHASE [ONION RINGS/STRAWS/STRINGS ALERT - 2.5 of 5.0 STARS] Onion Rings (4 Euros): Seven thin-cut, battered and fried until crispy, lightly-cooked onion rings generally uniform in size. Made-to-order, they came out hot, the light tan brown crunchy batter was nice but crumbled off at times, and each onion ring (not sweet Maui) stayed intact when bitten into. Sadly, the flavor was bland so some ketchup was needed but didn't help much https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=Es_6xrDogRwZr2e9579DTA&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw. Ketchup Packet (0.30 Euro): I seriously had to pay for this https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=GXuJJJtXIxyM42m8K5ZUYw&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw! SERVICE A cute female kindly greeted me as I took a moment to peruse the menu before I placed and paid for my order. Handed a buzzer that informed me when my food was ready, it shortly went off minutes later as I gathered it from the pick-up window from a male prep cook who flashed a sunny smile. Quick and simple process as I chowed down and headed out to catch my flight. PARKING (Varied; FREE this instance) We were dropped off, so a non-issue since this was inside the airport past security in the departure gates area. ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE A wooden-beamed façade with eye-catching blue-and-white checkered flags draped high and across its front https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=PCDJ6XZLeGF7K84fLoVU9g&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw, there were a handful of tall tables and chairs you sat yourself at with displayed menus https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=rO9WbjB2sefJ3c1loFPOBw&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw sandwiched between plexiglass stands https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=xwIlJGIdubrEWs8MPVM4Mg&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw and a container that held napkins and utensils. An open order counter flanked by a see-through kitchen easily welcomed you in. Plenty of natural lighting came in through the large windows that surrounded the restaurant and general area of this part of the terminal along with a handful of electric track lighting that filled in the rest. There were no TVs nor background music. ATTIRE Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. OVERALL Homeburger at the Venice Marco Polo airport near the Air France departure gate was a cool find tucked far away in a corner next to a smokers' lounge. Although I wasn't impressed by the onion rings, the burgers did look and smell good. As mimimal as the menu was, the prices seemed fair for an airport. And, I amused myself as I watched people puff down on their cancer sticks while herded into an enclosed smoke-filled box like caged animals for exhibition purposes while I ate my onion rings. But please don't charge for condiments. Based on potential and not on the onion rings, I found fairly good value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around 4.00 Euro BEFORE any discounts and/or tip). And, although I paid in cash, they accepted my credit card of choice...AMEX! 3.5 STARS

Not only is it convenient, plenty of seats that didn't charge you for the privilege of sitting down. But the prices are typical for McDonalds and not hiked up. The food is fast and the menu is bigger than what you would find in the US. Plant based options are available along with the regular menu. But like the rest of Europe, it was slightly smaller. During the summer, there are special items, in this case a beach towel for 5 euros if you buy a meal. Considering the coastal region, this is definitely something worth getting. This restaurant was clean and well kept and the staff has some English skills. Definitely a must if you want a meal at a reasonable price.

It is straightforward to place the order at the self-service kiosk. At least I don't have to try to talk to the cashier who may or may not understand English. You can choose English at the self-service kiosks. The large-size soda is the same size as the small in the United States and costs almost double. This is not a problem. I understand everything in the United States are huge compared to other countries. The restroom required a code printed on the receipt. So the bathroom is only available after purchase. But the bathrooms are not very clean! They have an outdoor seating area. But it has many birds nonstop trying to get leftover food on the tables.

This is all of those things, combining classic American cuisine with Italian flavorings, and the only restaurant in Venice where you can leave wearing a crown. Good ol number seven (VII) is satisfying wherever you go, but French fries in Italy? Tres bien! Like having a whole continent in your mouth. Ketchup just tastes better in a land of fresh tomatoes and herbs. (Still Heinz). At midday the stained glass window on the second floor lets an ancient pattern dance on the cash register. The good news is, one you pay to sit, you can sit all day if you like. We urgently needed to rest our feet on a frigidly cold and rainy afternoon and since this is one of the few places in the area that has tables inside, we decided to stop in. We had a couple of espressos and one of the popular white bread sandwiches that are plentiful in Venice. The food was "meh" and the coffee was, as is to be expected in Italy, delicious. Don't go out of your way to snack or drink here but if you need to sit, this fits the bill!
