She suggested that changing it to something more dramatic that would make more of a statement would help bring the room together. I had never thought of the light fixture as being a problem. Really I had never thought of it at all, but sure enough once I made that change it was a dramatic improvement and led the way to me changing out one of the main pieces of art, getting rid of two side chairs and a putting a different side table in that looked good with the new modern chandelier. I love my dining room now! It's my eclectic style, but it's cohesive, and I never would have gotten there without Missy's consultation. She also just has great taste and such extensive experience that she has the perfect "eye", which allows her to quickly and with great accuracy nail the paint color or tile size that will look best, or warn you away from the problems you might run into with a particular fabric or an uncomfortable chair depth or a rug that's too small for the space.. I had Jojo work on my living room, my bedroom, my office and create a theater room for me. I ended…read morespending close to 82-90k. Overall I am happy with the remodel but there were bumps in the road. There were some issues that I will try to denote. We started with jojo in late summer of 2020 and she just finished our remodel 2 months ago. Partially because it was a big, project and partly because we went on vacation and partly because she had a lot of efficiencies. Jojo offers turn key service but many times its not turn key at the end. She depends a lot on you for things because she is very busy. She has many projects going on and I feel she takes on too much to be effective with communication. I can tell though she does very good work. Jojo initially gave us a 3D rendition that was a little pricy. It ended being around 5K. That being said I paid for the ENTIRE project 82K+ up front before she even started. She in my opinion had a great eye for design and did a good job at giving us what we wanted. Issues She gave us a procurement list after the 3D rendition and asks us to get everything before we started. For the most part it was ok , but we got a theater room and she asks us to get a fan and a screen that was about 1000 dollars. The theater room on the 3rd floor where we had a spare bed room and lived as they remodeled the first and second floors of our house. I don't know if she thought it through as the fan got in the way of the projector and the screen. I had to get Best Buy , Magnolia's to set up my theater as they got be better quality speakers and asked me to return the screen since it was " too heavy and would collapse my ceiling ". Because the theater room was the last room they did and was a year after we bought the screen we couldn't return it. I remember several conversations and ultimately she got angry when I asked for a refund. " She told me she "wasn't an engineer but a designer". I responded with you didn't have to be an engineer to realize that the fan would get in the way of the projector and the screen. She really didnt take responsibility and account for her mistakes at that moment. After much back and forth she gave me a refund for the projector screen and fan. Jojo did my living room which came out great. She gave me an accent wall and added a marble accent so I could have a fireplace with my living room. I had no issues with the living room but the guys she contracted to put up the marble accent unscrewed my electronic gate. They didnt properly screw it back together and my gate didnt close. I initially approached Jojo but she didnt take much responsibility in the beginning. We needed up calling the management of the workers and they apologized for their workers and sent gate specialists to properly screw the lock into my gate. One of the biggest issues was my personal office. I spent 23K on that office. Jojo has a carpenter named Louis who I don't think his strong suit was accuracy and precision. The office was going to have a slab of wood that was going to be stained and cut to the rooms specifications. He didnt quite do a good job as there were gaps in the desk were dust and debris was accumilating. The job took over 3 months to complete because they kept retrying to get it right. Ultimately she had to bring another carpenter to redo the entire desk. I will give her credit this guy did it right and my office cam out great. When they remodeled the main bedroom closet they chipped a tile and tried to cover it up initially. Louis, the carpenter, said oh it was already there. I had to show pictures my house prior to the remodel to show that it wasn't there. Jojo took responsibility and asked for it to be replaced. The main bedroom closet had a his and her mirrors that she had ordered. The measurements were wrong . Jojo suggested we change the rendition she has originally provided. I remember being in Las Vegas when I was hearing this. I said why are we changing the rendition when you got the measurements wrong. I told her it was her responsibility and this was "turn key" service and ultimately she agreed to order custom mirrors that properly fit. Overall All in all, I would cautiously recommend Jojo. I think she is an absolutely great designer. She has good taste and a good eye for what the customer wants. That being said her people skills are lacking. She doesn't in my experience make precise measurements and often has to redo things because she just doesn't measure correctly. I wouldn't get all the procurement list right away as some items were difficult to return. My biggest criticism is she initially will not take responsibility for her mistakes. I will give her credit she refunded me and did everything right so I felt she took care of each situation but it often wasn't with a back and forth battle to get it done.

I contacted them the next morning (not even 24 hours later) asking to cancel or exchange--even offering to spend more--but they refused due to an "as-is" policy. If a product has known issues, that should be disclosed upfront. Failing to do so is deceptive, I wasn't trying to return and walk away--I was willing to buy something else--but they wouldn't work with me at all. When they sell furniture there that has been discontinued it is probably has nothing to do with the manufacturer not making it anymore, it is because there were reported problems with it.
