They are now working on getting the thermostat so that it does not run basically all the time and not heat the place well. Set on 72 and temp 66. I have been told by Chris a few days ago the stat should have a setting for emergency heat. The reason this is not a 5 star review is the advertisement stating 24/7. First, contacted the day after service that the heat was still not running properly. The fellow (Jake?) called me back to say he had reached out to sevicemen but none had returned his call. This was Saturday. The problem would be dealt with, apparently, the "first of the week." I called today, Sunday, to give them further information and got an answering service, who obviously knew nothing about what I was saying, but would give them the message." I'm not sure these two incidents truly represent 24/7 service. You can contact the company, but I think service on the problem is implied when 24/7 is advertised. I'll be happy to edit my review when the heat problem is ironed out.

These guys offered up different options to take care of our issue and seemed very knowledgeable on everything. They definitely met our expectations and we will return to Arronco when we need HVAC help in the future. The price for the service and parts seemed pretty fair. Sometimes you just have to hire and expert and trust their work.

But the thermostats installed have never worked right. We've complained about them and had them out to check them and program them multiple times. Only one guy understands them so most of the techs made it worse. He got them to sorta work, but he revealed that they reset to defaults if the power goes out. They finally agreed to switch them out a week ago. Tech couldn't do it. Now there's a problem with the wiring. We've had no AC or fan for a week. We've called every single day and can only get their call service. They had to cut a hole in our ceiling to run duct work. They had a contractor repair it. The repair fell apart in months. Nobody EVER returned our calls. We finally had to pay our handyman to fix it. If they ever finish the job I'll let you know how their work is.

Arlinghaus has decided to change out the outdoor unit increasing size thus matching what was replaced. This is considerable expense to them but was the honorable thing to do. Hopefully this will be the final. Update to this review. In the end, Arlinghaus made a mistake sizing our replacement equipment up front but has gone a long way correcting that mistake in the end which is what really matters!

I contacted Birkley despite the previous one-star review (after all, if you don't like a company,…read moreyou don't continue to use them for 2 years). I was not disappointed. Joe, my service technician, arrived right at 9:30 a.m., the front end of his estimated time frame of 9:30 to 10 a.m. (He could give my cable guy a lesson in timeliness!) Joe was courteous, and went right to work. He didn't try to up-sale me on any "premium services" like other companies I have used. He also didn't try to sell me parts I didn't need - like the last company that serviced my HVAC unit. At the end of my appointment, all I needed was a new air filter. Joe thanked me, talked about his family business, and hurried on his way with a handshake and a smile. I will definitely be calling Birkley for my next service appointment!

After doing some basic troubleshooting - making sure the connections were fine and then swapping out Nest for my old thermostat, and seeing no improvement, I called for Birkley. They were able to come out to the house within a few hours, and gave me a courtesy call of 15 minutes prior to arrival so I could drive home. The technician went downstairs to do some troubleshooting, and while he was at it, he checked out the heating unit from top-to-bottom and gave it a good cleaning. Long story short, it ended up being that the neighbor had blocked the input/output pipes that led to the HE furnace. Once those were removed, the heating unit worked fine and now I have heat! Great, professional service. Allowed me to be inquisitive and showed me some of the workings of the furnace. At least now I know how some of it works!

There are few things worse than having a bunch of strangers doing construction inside of your home and having zero control over the situation. I was very impressed by how creative and efficient their team was. There were very few holes punched into the walls. They finished quickly and were very communicative. In the end, I felt my home, property, and privacy were well respected. They left battery powered lights for me to use during times when my electric was off. They were considerate of the inconvenience, as well as thoughtful. I would be happy to hire them myself in the future and would certainly recommend them. This is a standup company.

That company inspected our system and confirmed the need to replace it. As we researched further, we discovered that the other guys had very spotty Yelp reviews, so we decided to go with Rechtin instead. Their sales rep Scott was great! He was a former technician so he knew the details of each system very well. He was as honest a guy as you would ever want to meet. Not only did he not try to upsell us on a more expensive unit, he emphasized that the intro level system was very suitable for our house and steered us away from higher priced options because the extra features and efficiency didn't justify the price difference for our needs. As it turned out, our furnace conked out around this time, so Rechtin got a tech out to us quickly to get our old system running until the new one could be installed. The installation took two days, and the team was superbly skilled and courteous. The price of the work was not just fair, but very competitive. These guys took great care of our needs at a good price, and they were responsive when we needed them. What's not to love?

Two years ago, this company installed a brand-new AC unit for about $8,000. Just 13 months later,…read morethe unit broke down. When I called, they sent a technician who told me the repair would be covered under warranty and that I wouldn't be charged. However, after the repair, the unit broke down again less than a year later. When I contacted the company this time, they refused to come out unless I first paid an outstanding bill of $1,200--something I was never expecting based on what I had been told previously. When I asked why I was being charged, the representative explained that the warranty only covered the first year, and since the initial breakdown happened after 13 months, I had been billed for that repair. I then questioned how a $1,200 repair could be justified when the unit failed again so quickly afterward. The rep simply said this was "standard" in his experience, and "just the way it is". Overall, this has been extremely frustrating and disappointing. I paid a significant amount for a new system, yet I've already dealt with multiple breakdowns and unexpected charges. Not what I would expect from a professional HVAC company.
