I can't express into words how talented Allison is and would hands down call her again if we decide to get another dog! My husband and I were completely blown away we sent out 6 year old Jack Russell to her for the 5 day board and train and he is currently with her for confidence building and to correct bad habits. I am so thankful we found Marcum K9! Allison is better than the dog whisperer!!!! Update on Otto 3/27/18: Once again amazed with what Allison has done! Otto was in the 5 day board and train and is a completely calm and very quiet jack Russell. Otto has some bad behavior problems regarding consistent barking and not listening. All issues are gone and we are on a very happy and healthy relationship with our babies! It is now up to my husband and I to remain consistent with both cash and otto's training. Thanks again to Marcum K9 for everything! Otto is a 6 year old jack Russell

It's very evident that Allison's goal is to have both owner and puppy "trained" with realistic expectations. In our case, she exceeded our expectations completely! In 8 days at Marcum K9 Obedience Bindi has learned sit, down, place, walk on loose leash, and so much more! I know it was WELL worth the 3 hour drive. We will be back for second board and train in a couple weeks for continued service/therapy training. Another bonus is that Bindi absolutely loves Allison. I can relax knowing she is well taken care of and learning more than I ever expected. Thank you Allison .. Marcum K9 Obedience!

By pure luck we found Dana. Dana came out to visit Nimitz and see him at home with us. Dana spent at least an hour sitting with the family and talking to us about options to work with Nimitz. We choose a three day intro package and soon thereafter sent Nimitz to stay at Tooth and Claw. We received several videos each day on his progress and at the end we received a dog that is much better behaved and interacts much better with our family. Best of all if he wants something we have been able to train him to tell us, ring the bell to go out, bring a toy to play, don't mouth me. We will recommend Dana and Tooth and Claw to everyone.

In short: Capital Canine Dog Training gets our highest recommendation. Worth every penny in results…read morefor our (formerly) defiant, anxious min-pin. Longer story: we took in a 2+ year-old rescue miniature-pinscher who was not even housebroken, let alone trained. He would bark at the drop of a hat, snarl at strangers, eat irregularly, sprint out of open doors/attempt escape from fencing, mark inside the house, anxiously guard resources (space and/or closeness to preferred humans), obstinately ignore commands; the run of the gamut for small dog issues. Enter Kevin and Capital Canine Dog Training's "21-Day Board and Train" program. From our initial emails and through the in-home consultation, we could tell we had a good fit with Kevin/Capital Canine. This was someone that understood our concerns and also spoke patiently and realistically about the results we could expect over the three weeks that our dog Milo would spend with Capital Canine. Just as important as the training that Milo would receive from Kevin would be the training that we would need to do to ourselves with help and advice of Capital Canine. Over the 21 days that Milo was in the "Board & Train" program, we got regular updates on his progress via texts, pictures, and videos, showing our boy was in good spirits and making strides. What we thought was impossible, Kevin and his team demonstrated was eminently, if incrementally, achievable with Milo in their hands and across varied exposure environments (in-house, outdoors, and in public places). Following Milo's return home, we (re)introduced our neighbors to this once-fiesty character, and they were shocked. "This can't be the same dog! Who is this sweet boy?" In that moment we couldn't have been more proud of the change in our dog or more relieved in our choice of Capital Canine. But the benefits of the "Board & Train" program didn't end with The Big Reveal. Kevin had three in-home follow-ups with us which were crucial to cementing our understanding of how to be the best stewards of Milo's progress and to monitor his progress and/or difficulties in the time following his return home. Just as we had hoped, Capital Canine planted the seeds of obedience in our dog. Kevin also guided us expertly in our journey toward becoming the kind of dog owner that establishes firm boundaries, consistency, and rewards/corrects properly and proportionately. Our utmost thanks to Kevin and staff at Capital Canine!

Harrison and I are SO glad that we made the decision to train our dog, Hudson, with Capital Canine…read more Kevin is the absolute best, and we fully trusted him with our pup for the 3 week board and train program. Before training, Hudson struggled with separation anxiety, couldn't go in a crate or car, was very impulsive and would run away at the park with unreliable recall and boundaries. He is a very sweet natured and fun dog who is great with people, he just needed help learning how to control his energy. Harrison and I did not know where to begin with training, and we felt overwhelmed. Kevin made it extremely easy for us by doing all the hard work in establishing a behavioral foundation during the 3 week board and train. He even kept Hudson for an extra couple of days as he was committed to getting Hudson comfortable in a crate before bringing him home to us. The transformation has been incredible. After Hudson came home to us, there were immediate improvements. He could hold a place, sit, and down through distraction, and rest in his crate when asked. He understood how the E-collar worked, had better recall, and could heel and walk on a leash without pulling. These basic commands have truly changed our day to day and have helped us create more structure in Hudson's day. On top of the 3 week program, Capital Canine continued to be supportive and helpful. Kevin worked with us in 4 additional sessions after the board and train to teach Harrison and myself how to continue the training throughout different environments and scenarios. He would respond to texts in-between sessions when Harrison and I had questions or were unsure of how we were training. He was a great teacher and helped us understand how dogs think and how we can better communicate with them. We really looked forward to these sessions and enjoyed our time with Kevin! Hudson always had a blast too. A month has now passed since the board and train. We have kept up with Hudson's training and are confident taking Hudson in public, to parks, family and friend's houses, and he is a more confident dog in those spaces. The training has been life changing. I am so happy that we did this, not only because it makes our lives easier, but I also know it makes Hudson's life better too now that he knows boundaries and limits and doesn't have to feel as anxious as before. Highly recommend training with Capital Canine. It is worth the time and investment!

He was an absolute mess of anxiety and that is where Buckeye Dog Training came in and succeeded wildly. For our trainer we had Molly, who was beyond professional, showed up to all of our appointments on time and with her lessons prepared. She gave us clear, direct tips and taught exactly what we had to do to help our dog. Not only that but she was a sweetheart that legitimately cared about our dog's well-being and mental state. For five lessons stretched over 4 months, we crate trained, leash trained, learned 6-8 new commands that help our dog understand what we expect of him. We completely broke him of his separation anxiety and now WILLINGLY goes into his crate before we leave for work. I recommend dog training to everyone. I believe it is an integral part of sharing your home with a dog, someone that depends on you to take care of it and to teach it what is right and wrong within your home. Buckeye Dog Training and Molly specifically were great, worth the price 100%, and we feel secure that if anything where to ever happen with Rory's training, Molly would be there and help out in anyway she can. The staff gave glowing reviews and said that my dog was happy to see them and great, no signs of anxiety whatsoever. However, he did not recieve all of his veterinarian prescribed medication (I counted it before giving them the bottle and knew how many doses he needed), despite multiple instructions to do so no matter what. As a result, my dog came home having chewed hair off of his tail, and licked fur off of his forepaws - generally he does this only when extremely stressed. Also, the turnout was very small, no way a larger dog could stretch out his legs. They did give him walks and lots of attention - Lori knows what she is doing, but her help don't seem to follow through all the time.
