National High School is a TERRIBLE decision! They trick you into signing up with low cost and convenience. Both of these things are true... It is relatively cheap and easy... Unfortunately, there is no education to be had at National High School -Teachers are inaccessible -Administration is mostly located in the UAE -Curriculum is relatively useless -Entire staff seems to be English as a Second Language including the teachers -Colleges find it to be illegitimate and will reject you Also, they misquoted my exit interview and put it on the front page as an endorsement! Please do not waste your money at this school. It is a complete and total scam. The first trick they play is to hire all-American-type sales people to lure you in promising that you will pay less to finish accredited high school classes by paying on a per month basis. Once you are signed up for the school you will realize that almost the entire staff are English as a Second Language folks who you will have a very difficult time communicating with (Virgin Mobile type customer service) and who will go through great lengths to not help you any time you have an issue, and you WILL have many issues with this school. 1. It will take about 3 weeks from the day you sign up until you have access to your classes. This delay consists of 2 weeks of them "building your classes" and then a week or 2 of scheduling you for an "orientation session." This means that by the time you start your classes, it will be almost time for payment for month #2. 2. If the teachers actually exist, which I am still not certain of, they have nothing to do with grading the assignments. The assignments are graded by the "grading department," which most likely exists overseas in India. If you have the misfortune of having to communicate with the grading department, it will be clear that English and logic are not their strong qualities. The will frequently misgrade your assignments and then claim to have 30 business days to make the corrections. Yes, 30 BUSINESS DAYS! Unfortunately, after those 30 business days, you will have paid payment #3 and halfway to payment #4. And still they will not have regraded your assignments. Several emails and calls later, you may have success in getting them to actual regrade these items, but by this time payment #4 will definitely be due. 3. They will not tell you how your grade is calculated. They are very confused about this themselves. For example, they reported a grade of 74% for my child's class where an A was the actual grade. It took many calls and emails to get this straightened out. 4. So by this time you have already paid for 4 months of schooling and paid much more for the class than if you would have simply taken it at one of the more established online schools. 5. The nightmare is not over. When final exam time rolls around, they will take the full 10 business days to grade your exam and they will likely misgrade this as well. So get ready for payment #5 trying to get that corrected. 6. By this time, you will refuse to pay as you finished the last class well before payment #5 was due. They will refuse to give you a transcript until you do pay. If you are like many of their other customers, you will pay and you MAY get a transcript or they will find some way to bill you for one additional month (payment #6)before the nightmare is over. You will realize by this time that you spent twice as much as if you signed up at a legitimate school. SOME FACTS: National High School has received 13 BBB complaints in the last 12 months, 8 of which were unsatisfactorily addressed. National High School is owned by Indian business man Akber Mithani and his brother. They are also the owners of the University of Atlanta - a now defunct school which lost its accreditation due to fraudulent activities. National High School will no doubt follow the same path and reemerge with yet another name. Stay far away! read more

STAY AWAY! Do you want to graduate? Yes? Then this is not the place to do it. Why? 1) The assignments for math and spanish are around 15-80 questions long PER assignment. The entire course holds around 50-80 assignments. 2) It is impossible to complete courses because there is little to zero teacher assistance. 3) The guidance counselor I received had a heavy accent and no one can understand her over the phone. 4) The cost is incredibly high. $350 per course. If you go to GA Virtual School or the GA Cyber Academy its FREE. The public online high schools keep you on track and have teachers on with more then the minimal 1 office hour that NHS has. 5) Half the time they do not receive your assignments and grade you as a zero. You have to call in (during their minimal office hours) and tell them. Then they advise you to fax it in. Its ridiculous. 6) They take their assignments straight out of a workbook. They do not personalize the courses for their students. You will not be able to find your answers online. This school set me back $700 and I had to take summer courses with GA Virtual School to catch up. I graduated high school with a 3.9 GPA and that is no thanks to this terrible school. This is the worst program EVER!!! They don't support anyone on the West Coast AT ALL, they don't offer help to those who only own an IPAD and they close the doors at 5:00 p.m. and don't offer assistance at all to anyone during normal West Coast business hours. DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY ON THIS TRAIN WRECK. They also charge you $250 per semester for a class, then when their incompetence fails, they charge you a $200 administrative fee so you wasted your time and money. SERIOUSLY STAY AWAY!!! I completely regret choosing this school. The person above me has made a completely accurate review and it's safe to say that this is indeed a scam. First of all, like Petunia said, they lure you in by giving you a discount and charging per month instead of charging per credit. This makes it appear very cheap. BUT YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR: A crappy education where they make the simple things sound confusing. The entire staff acts like they are all concerned for your grades but really THEY DON'T GIVE A CRAP for your education. They avoid answering any question you have. And the teachers have all sorts of technical problems when giving you live lectures so basically you're all on your own. My experience was completely negative and I'M SO GLAD I'M DONE. And they don't teach you anything. Everything I had to learn elsewhere and get a tutor just to pass. Please, please stay away from this school. If my review helps one person, my job will be completed. Always make sure you google the school first and see reviews before picking any online schools. Two years after Petunia P submitted her review of NHS, I am sad to say, NOTHING has changed and I concur with every single one of her complaints. We have experienced the same thing albeit on a smaller scale since my son only needed to take one class not offered at his small school. We have had to challenge the grading of every one of his exams. A sample exam question is: Use each of the following words only once to complete the following paragraph. Then there is only one sentence and one blank and yet 6 words in the word bank. Best advice I got from NHS: "just do the best you can". Even had them regrade one exam only to find out the correct word wasn't even IN the word bank!! Ugh. Totally frustrated with the organization and will never again use them. Don't waste your time or money. I paid $80 bucks for my "high school diploma" and received it In The Mail a few weeks later. That was over a year ago and now they are saying it needs to be re-accredited. This is BS, I called them up and some Man named "Andy" informed me that I only have 2 options, pay them another $200 or go thru a lawyer and sue. So I was pretty much got snaked out of $80. Absolutely the worst online school you could choose. Never enter into any agreement with them. Once they enroll you, their customer service is horrible. They are unresponsive and unhelpful. Financial department is a joke. The "counselors" are clearly uneducated and work only when they feel like it. I would never recommend them to anyone! And good luck getting a transcript once you realize how horrible they are and pull your child out! Impossible! read more
