We used Benson Electric for the complete rewire of our vintage 1900 home in Bellingham. Eric and…read morehis crew removed all our old knob and tube wiring and completely updated every electrical aspect of our home. They did an awesome job from start to finish. I highly recommend using their services. I met with Eric personally to discuss my project and received a prompt and thorough estimate. The work was completed on schedule, they attended to every detail with precision and accuracy, plus they stayed on budget with the original estimate. Bensons really went above and beyond my expectations of customer service. Throughout our project I had questions and needed Bensons to coordinate with other contractors and they were always responsive to my needs and worked well with the other contractors to make sure that my whole renovation came together to my exact specifications. I had complete confidence that Eric and his crew would get the job done right, and that was confirmed on my final walkthrough with the City of Bellingham permit inspector. We passed our inspection with flying colors and the inspector even said "Eric is one of the good ones in this town. I never find anything wrong with his work." I will definitely use Benson's if I need any more electrical work in the future!

5 years ago, I bought a Navien combi heater unit from them and in those 5 years, I've had them come…read morein 4 times to service the unit. On 3 of those times, they were extremely inefficient and wasted a great deal of time by doing the following: - calling their manager to get instructions on how the unit worked - bringing an instruction manual and spending several hours reading it ( later we found out that this person was a trainee and was learning on the spot ) - during the lengthy maintenance service, we'd peak in on them and noticed they were just sitting there staring blankly at the unit for over 15 minutes!! Like he was praying to the Navien gods or something!! Basically, we got the impression that they would take an inordinate amount of time servicing the unit in order to charge us an excessive amount for an anual maintanence. Each time they visited us, the service cost was around $500. On one occasion they had to do a special descaling process on the unit and that costed $650. We were really suspicious of why a 5 year old unit would require such costly maintenance ( our prior unit was 30 years old and only required servicing 3 times in that time span ), so we called around to other companies in the area and got a quote from them and none of them were quoting us anywhere near the amount the Good Gooys were. Just be very careful when they send over a "specialist" to take a look at your unit. They may be sending you an intern and even when they do send an experienced repairman, they seem to have a minimum service time that they'll spend looking at your unit regardless of the condition the unit is in. Don't be surprised if they charge you $500 to wipe some oil stains off your unit and quote you for 6 hours of work. EDIT: I just added proof that I did in fact purchase a system from The Good Guys as well as an invoice for one of their visits.

We got our air conditioning installed by these guys. The owner came and gave us a quote. We…read morewere going to install air conditioning in 3 rooms. On install day, they told us we couldn't install in one of the rooms because the window was too high to the ceiling and there wouldn't be enough clearance. It was disappointing because we really needed air conditioning in that one room. The install took an entire day. The guys are friendly and professional. I referred a friend and they told my friend I would get a referral bonus but never ended up getting anything so that was disappointing. But I would use these guys again because they sell Mitsubishi air conditioners and do a good job.

I was referred to Colin by a hot water tank distributor. I left a message for Colin to call me…read moreback and he did within the couple hours. By the time he called back though, the builder for my new duplex already decided to go ahead with the plumbing work without hiring Colin to do the diagnostic first. However, Colin was VERY nice and knowledgeable on the phone with me answering my questions even though we are not hiring him/paying him for anything. Spent over 10 minutes with me on the phone just going through some potential causes for issues that I am experiencing. Even though we did not end up hiring him for the job, just from that phone experience, I would definitely feel comfortable and recommend him! Thanks Colin, you just earned a customer! :)

Unfortunately, Norman left a bad taste in our mouths and we will be taking our business elsewhere for any future services.

Just because of that service I'm saving his info to call him again when I have a heating or cooling issue.

Its a fairly new small business in the surrey area composed of guys who have been in the industry for a really long time, which gave me some good reason to write a review about them, also the surprising fact that they didn't have any other reviews before I started writing this current one. Having used quite a few contracting companies in the past and having great to not so great experiences in the past this one did truly stand out to me. The whole approach, end results, and work ethic was just so on point. I do perform smaller scale work on my own house and cars quite often (within my capabilities) and I felt that the work was done to the same standard as I would have done it (read my other reviews I am super particular about work done to my car, house, etc.). Overall I am highly impressed with the quality of the work. 5 stars. Thanks Gary!

I found out that Gary and his guys have years of experience and are now mostly doing small jobs. When the work was done, he provided a well oorganized invoice and charged a reasonable rate. A few years later, I called on Gary and his guys to install and undermount sink and kitchen faucet in our kitchen remodel. Again he was very professional and did a good job. Two jobs well done.
