I've been seeing Dr. Ibrahim since I was in elementary school. He always welcome me with a warm smile. His service is painless. His old office was located in Albee Sq. Recently, he moved to Kings Highway. I'm happy for this change since my commute time is short. I highly recommend Dr. Ibrahim. His bedside manner is excellent. read more

I came here to get a permanent retainer removed and to have what I was told was a free consultation to see if I would be a good candidate for clear aligners. Before proceeding they brought me paperwork "to see if I qualified" for the procedure. I don't know what that meant and felt weird about it, so I asked what it was. After trying to convince me it was just like a financial check, it eventually came out that they were trying to get me to apply for a credit card. The way they went about it was incredibly deceptive and unethical. They eventually did not remove my retainer which was the stated reason I went in, and they charged me a $100 fee, even though the appointment lasted 20 minutes and they didn't even do the procedure I went in for. Located on 4th floor of some rundown backdoor office. I was told my insurance is accepted; fine, I come in, fill out the paper work with my SSN. Was told to take a seat, I did. They try to stay cool and hip by blasting hippytittyToppytitty muzak in the office. I HATE THIS PLACE. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY HERE. It took me 5 years to get my braces off because they only had only 1 orthodontist that worked once a week and saw me every 6 weeks . Pre-corona I had my issues but they weren't that severe . Right before the shutdown I was schedule to get my braces off , I had already taken my impressions . They called and said they had my retainer and I had an appointment set up. Than everything closed down because of corona . When they reopen they claimed the retainer was no longer covered by my insurance and they didn't have it in the building . IF I COULD GIVE THIS PLACE ZERO STARS I WOULD. I booked an appointment , therefore I took off from my job. They called a few hours, THE DAY OF , saying they don't have an orthodontist . They didn't go into detail even though I had already tooken off work . My sister and I decided to go there because they weren't answering the questions over the phone and I than understood there situation that they had to hire a new orthodontist. It was extremely unprofessional they told me the day of . I booked another appointment 2 weeks later . I also took off from work again. They told me when I walked in they still didn't have an orthodontist . ANNOYED I TOOK OFF 2 DAYS OF WORKS AND THEY TELL ME THE DAY OF . They said they looked on the computer they didn't see my appointment otherwise they would've contacted me . However, I showed them my appointment card . It is ABSURB that the women at the front desk didn't even make my appointment when I went all the way there to book my appointment . FINALLY , I had an appointment but They than said they couldn't take off the braces till I paid $600 for the retainer. I am a minor so I called my dad to come and talk to them because the insurance already paid the whole braces process including the removal . I had already waited an hour for them to take me and this was my THIRD time taking off from work . After my dad came they agree to take the braces off . THIS IS THE MOST UNPROFESSIONAL MONEY HUNGRY BUSINESS. The new orthodontist is sweet but the people at the front desk and the manager are extremely unprofessional. THE MANAGER IS THE MOST DISGUSTING PERSON I HAVE EVER MET . When I came in for my next appointment for the retainer , I had already waited an hour and than the manager came in saying I had to pay $600 for the retainer . I told her I was going to call my dad and she said " YOUR DAD COMING WON'T DO ANYTHING . IM TALKING TO YOU. IF HE COMES IM NOT TALKING TO HIM " . SHE SCREAMED AND GAVE ME ATTITUDE. First off, if I were to pay the $600 she knew I was a minor , I don't have $600 in my bank account so I would have to call my dad either way . SHE GAVE SO MUCH ATTITUDE TO A CUSTOMER . She was a grown women giving A MINOR attitude . I BEGAN TO CRY . My dad than came up , where he tried to explain our situation and how we already took the impressions and the retainer was supposed to be in the building . The front desk worker tried his best to understand . They made us wait in the waiting room . My dad wanted to speak to the manager . We were lied to saying she would talk to us after her phone call . We waited at least an hour and a half until the front desk man straight up told us she didn't want to speak to us!! The manager made the front desk make worker go back and forth as if we were playing telephone.HOW UNPROFESSIONAL!! WE ARE THE CUSTOMERS AND SHE DOESN'T WANT TO SPEAK TO US . The actual address of this location of American Dental is 1302 Kings Hwy so I'm not sure why it says different on here. I came in recently for x-rays and a general cleaning after having put it off from earlier in the year due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Been a patient since 2017 or so, and although I tend to thoroughly research medical facilities and physicians before actually scheduling a visit, I went by the Google reviews of this place and never bothered checking Yelp until now, but I must say the current 1.5 star rating makes absolute sense. Prior to my most recent trip to this facility, my visits had all gone off without a hitch. This time however, the issue arose specifically during the bite-wing x-rays portion -- the x-ray technician was very aggressive, impatient, and frustrated from the jump (perhaps she was simply having a bad day, perhaps she's just not a nice person), particularly when inserting the bite-wings for my back teeth. She kept shoving them in, claiming I was resisting too much with my tongue -- if I was resisting, it was because she kept forcefully trying to insert the bite-wings instead of gently but firmly placing them in between my teeth, the way x-ray techs with sense usually do. I tried telling her she was being too vigorous, but she pushed back with the same nonsense. In addition, the plastic stick-like apparatus to which the bite-wings are attached, put so much pressure on the back of the roof of my mouth as I was biting down to keep it in place as instructed, that as I compose this review, it hurts considerably when I swallow. Inexcusable. Now, I've undergone dozens upon dozens of these x-rays in the nearly 30 years since I first began seeing a dentist as a little girl, so I know how it's supposed to go and furthermore, how it's supposed to FEEL. Never in my LIFE, under any circumstances have I EVER encountered an x-ray tech as insensitive, forceful, or combative as this young lady was, not to mention experienced the degree of physical pain and discomfort rendered as a result. When you talk about someone being a liability for a business, she's it for sure. Horrible, especially given that this is a healthcare industry where all involved on the clerical and medical side should be exhibiting the utmost sensitivity and empathy towards patients. I will not be returning to American Dental at this point. Disappointed doesn't begin to sum it up. read more

Avoid at all costs! The receptionists are rude, incompetent and desperate for money. I specifically made an appointment to see a periodontist, they told me my insurance is accepted. I paid $150 consultation fee. Afterwards they wanted to do a special xray which costed $300. I asked if the insurance covers anything and the receptionist said the others at the front desk told her I don't have insurance. She offered a discount of $150 for the xray, which I refused, and asked them to check with my insurance to find out exactly how much of the xray and proposed treatment they cover. After waiting 3h in total, they tell me that, in fact, they don't accept my insurance for periodontist. And they kept pushing me to change to a more expensive insurance or do Care Credit. The doctor Mohamed Raza was nice and professional, but the front desk staff is ruining the experience in this office. Because, if I have to pay so much out of pocket, I will make sure to choose another office where everyone is friendly and professional, including front desk staff, treating patients like humans, not like cash machines, and in a nicer location than a run-down building with no windows. read more

They did not hurt me and that was the most important thing. Actually they were quite gentle. I also liked the fact that they have a children's dentist and orthodontist all together. I had an appointment set to see Dr. Sherin Ibrahim at 3 pm, made arrangements to leave work earlier to be able to make the appointment. On the day of the appointment I get a call at 10 am and am being told that that do to earlier cancellations the doctor doesn't want to wait for me until 3 pm and that I can either come at 1 pm or the appointment will be canceled and can be rescheduled for another time. I'm appalled and disappointed by the lack of professionalism exhibited by American Dental staff specifically the doctor in question. I know that such behavior is pervasive and at times understandable, however the sheer laziness to follow through with the appointment that had been previously arranged by your own staff because of an inconvenience is outrageous and unacceptable. Absolutely horrific every step of the way! On top of having a ridiculously incompetent office staff---they are RUDE and unprofessional. The office manager has an especially poor attitude and lack of customer service etiquette. As for the rest of the staff.. I can understand if they are fed up with the chaotic enviroment and horrible management running the place. Despite the awful experience dealing with the office, their dentists and hygienists are excellent -so it's a shame. read more
