I saw a few positive reviews of the company on Facebook, and someone in my neighborhood recommended them, so I hired them. Unfortunately, my experience was not good. The project went well at first. The carpenters (Armando and Ivan) were great, the hvac crew knew what they were doing, and the electricians did what they were supposed to do. The problem was the painters - they ruined the entire project and delayed the completion date by two weeks. The two gentlemen painters were unprofessional and disrespectful of my property, and their workmanship was dreadful. I did not receive the spray-painted smooth finish on my cabinetry because the painters botched the job. After their failed attempt at spray-painting, they resorted to rolling the paint and spoiled that as well. The owner of the company, Mario, mismanaged the project and allowed the mistakes to continue. He was rarely on-site and either 1) did not recognize the extent of the errors, or 2) did not care. I had to text him each evening with pictures of the issues that had to be fixed (dents, drips, scratches, items embedded in the paint, blue/green spackle showing through the paint, areas primed but not painted, etc.). At one point he sent his crew over for their tools and asked me if I wanted another company to finish the job. I realized then that he was threatening to walk off the job, and I knew I had to settle for the inferior work if I wanted to have cabinet and drawer fronts again. I could not fathom the idea that any company would be willing to come behind EGK Custom Homes and fix all the issues. It was a truly horrible experience, and I am still picking paint and primer overspray off my kitchen counters, stovetop, dishes, appliances, plasticware, etc. Luckily, Mario paid to have the paint removed from my vehicle - how did that even happen?? I have included a few sample photos of the painting fiasco. The first few photos were taken on September 17, 2020 - the first time Mario told me that they were done painting and they were going to install the doors and drawer fronts the next day. Each day after that, the painters would leave, and my daughter and I would mark their mistakes with tape so that they could see what to fix the next day. Obviously, I do not recommend EGK Custom Homes unless you only want woodwork done and zero painting. If that's the case, Armando and Ivan Pineda are excellent for all of your carpentry needs. I hope you all have a better experience with your remodel than I did.

The quality of the team's work is amazing! They meticulously laid out our tiling and carefully installed all of our fixtures and everything looks and works great! We had gotten a quote from a corporate remodeling company before reaching out to Tico and it was astronomically higher and they offered no real customizations so we would have gotten a cookie cutter bathroom for double what I got my dream bathroom for. We enjoyed our experience with Tico Home Remodeling so much that we used them soon after the bathroom for another smaller project in our kitchen to replace old lighting as well. Over our first year of ownership I have come to appreciate the attention to detail at every level of construction and design. In addition, SFH promised to fix anything and everything for a year. They have honored that promise 100% with grace and courtesy. For example, as the house settled, many doors needed to be realigned. SFH did that quickly and efficiently at no charge to me. Thankfully, there have been no major issues. During the freeze in February 2021, we lost power for 43 hours. My SFH house stayed at 60F for most of that time while my neighbors' houses dipped into the 40s. I had no issues with pipes, etc. My only complaint about SFM is that they recommend that we work exclusively with Strotek for the AV in the house. This was not a good recommendation and now we are stuck with Strotek.
