I took a job in another state while my Husband has stayed at the house in Ohio. I changed my car policy to the new state, but kept the house insurance. Then the harassing phone calls and emails started - Is the house on the market, is it empty, how can it not be empty if you moved? Somehow they believed I needed to confirm every 3-6 months that my house was not for sale. I explained the situation a couple of time (was actually asked if I was getting a divorce - Yeah, they are that awesome at customer service). When I called and asked for the emails and phone calls to stop since I would notify them if I put the house up for sale as my policy required - THEY CANCELLED MY POLICY MID-TERM. Wow... Please save yourself the hassle and find an insurance agent that actually cares about you and does not harass you. Henry's Insurance Agency will probably cancel your policy for no reason too.

Mike accused my wife of being drunk when we finally chose another insurance company, verbally harassed her, lied about the policy, and tried to bully her into staying. He even had the gall to insinuate "If you're really a Christian you'd stay with us. We're a Christian company." We never once mentioned religion to him. I find that offensive to Christians and non Christians alike. Then he refused to cancel our policy stating that he only works for his clients which we aren't anymore. "We need you to have the agency send a signed cancel on both home and auto." Worst of all, I believe that he's an old school sexist who would never have said half of those things if he were talking to me instead of my wife. True colors shown, he comes off every bit as low as the classic sleezy used car salesman. Best off elsewhere.

It turned out that I was better off staying with Allstate so I cancelled my Progressive policy before it became effective. Alison also gave me several suggestions on how to reduce my premiums with very little risk to me. It was a no brainier financially but I never would have figured it out on my own.
